This did not work this spring. Maybe a glitch now.

  2. Krysta

Can anyone explain the ECB to me? Are you able to use the ECB immediately or do you have to wait? And are the ECB stored on your CVS card and applied automatically or how do you get to use them? I checked their website and I still don’t get it!

    • Linda Hahn

Yes you can use them right away on the next transaction. And they aren’t stored on your card; they print out at the bottom of your receipt.

      • Krysta

So you need to keep your receipt and use it like a coupon ?

      • Rosio

But if you lose your receipt (like I did) you could go online and print them out again! Awesome!

        • peach

You can go online if you lose it and reprint? OMG!!! I lost $14 a few months ago.

    • P.Charles

It prints out at the bottom of your receipt. You can use it immediately after you receive them. You just scan the bar code like a coupon or product. Its just like cash at CVS

    • Ashley

You get ECB’s when buying participating products. They print out at the end of your receipt and can be used as cash on a future purchase (some exclusions apply, but not a lot!) You can use them to buy those participating products to generate more ECB’s (this is called “rolling”).

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

ecb are printed on the end of your reciept after a qualifying transaction. you may use them immediately on you next purchase. they are not stored on you card, however, should you lose them, they are available to print at cvs.com under your extra care profile.

    • Melissa

once you make your purchase, the ECB will print on the bottom of your receipt. You can then turn around and use it on another purchase. Just keep in mind, CVS has limits on their ECB deals, and a summery will print on the bottom of your receipt. If an offer is Limit 1, it will say
      Offer Limit Reached.
Rumor has it, that come July there are going to be changes with ECB. I have heard from my store AM (and also read on another blog) that the ECB will no longer print on your receipt. You will have the option to print from your computer or load them to your card from your online account. He said he is still not sure how it will work, and once he knows will fill me in,

      • Krysta

        Thanks everyone, very helpful!

    • Becky

ECB print out on the bottom of your receipt . they have an experation date and a bar code just a regular coupon. you simply rip off the bottom section then you it the next time you buy something. they work right away. Hope that helps

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just thought I would share this tid bit from my CVS shop yesterday! Upon requesting a raincheck for the Lipton ice tea that is currently offering ECB the assistant manager on duty informed that per the head managers request the cashiers are not allowed to issue rainchecks until Thursday evenings after there truck runs for that sale period.. I know this is totally off point of this post but wanted to share because I found this kind of disturbing…
    Store Location – Austin, TX

    • Ivonne

      whats so disturbing about that?

    • Jenna

I had a similar experience…I was out last Friday morning so I checked for Zyrtec. They truck had delivered but they had not stocked the shelf yet. I asked for a raincheck, but instead the manager made me wait 10 minutes while he looked through the boxes in the back. I was in a hurry and very upset that he had me waiting, instead of just writing a raincheck that I could come back another day. I sure hope they don’t change the raincheck policy, some people are unable to shop later in the week and some people are not able to be at the store Sunday morning when they open!

      • Bee

Maybe he was thinking you would be happier actually getting the product…I went in last Friday and actually needed the meds. I ended up with a rain check from a manager who insisted they order enough stock but the manufacturers will not send it to them.

I could be there Sunday am but still everything is gone before noon. Maybe they should change the ads to read “2 hour sale.”

Oh well, I can use my coupons at Wal-Mart.

        • CindyW

On Friday our store was out of the Zyrtec. I asked for a raincheck and the manager said they could not offer a raincheck on anything that becomes free after ECB. Very disappointed.

          • Cheryl

i got a raincheck for the zyrtec – they were really nice about it too.

        • Tina

I got there on Sunday evening but the Hershey bliss is out already!!The cashier offered me rainchecks and told me they will come in o n Tuesday truck. So Isaid I will come back.

CVS is so much easier to shop!!

    • Andy

Tara – I am in Austin and I know the CVS on Guad. by campus is very friendly with rainchecks – or they were to me just an FYI!

      • Cindy

Yeah…CVS on guad. does seem pretty friendly!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think it’s disturbing… If you drive all the way to cvs, take the time to go in and get the product.. and the shelf is empty – you should get a raincheck no matter what the day. People are busy nowadays.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That was my point exactly- I shop on Sundays because #1 I work M-F and # 2 we have no CVS in my town so I have to drive into Austin to visit one- Plus to wait until Thursday evening for the truck and then there sales end on Friday instead of Saturday like other stores.

    • Jill

I agree. I live 30 minutes from CVS and usually only go once a week when we have other appointments in town. They need to understand that not everyone can just “come back tomorrow”. That would be awful if they all start doing this.

    • Annie

Tara, I am in Austin, too! Which store do you go to? The one on Braker/N. Lamar is so stingy about prices! This week, Scotch tape is BOGO free, so I found some magic tape on clearance for $0.49 but it did not ring up that way at the register. I kindly asked the cashier to adjust this because the ad did not specify that it excludes clearance (like cosmetics usually does) in this BOGO free sale. All I got from the cashier was a flat out no to my request! He didn’t even flinch or consider my point of view. Very frustrating, but I had to just let it go. 🙁

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Dessau & Parmer

    • ashley

my store wont issuse rain checks til wed. no biggie, they just want to make sure they wont be getting more in before they give you a rain check! 🙂

  4. Shannon

Didn’t have these at my CVS….

    • Zulaika

They didn’t have them at mine either! ;-(

  5. Bethany

You can actually print them off of the CVS website if you lose them, if you have made an account online with your ExtraCare Card. But yes, you would just cut them off the bottom of your receipt and actually use them like money instead of coupons!

    • Zulaika

Thanks alot for the tip~!!! I found $37.99 in ECB on my CVS card! Thanks a million.

      • Melissa

if you’ve already used your paper ECBs (that print on the bottom of your receipt) and try to redeem ones printed from your account, they will beep as ‘already redeemed’

    • Jennifer

I went and found my ECB’s online, and some of them that I have already used….did not show up in the recently redeemed column, but the available one. I would think they would process immediately. This was an awesome tip….Thanks so much.

  6. Bee

Oh I am so tempted to try this. But if it doesn’t work here, it will turn out to be a total loss for me of $6 plus tax…because I will not turn right around and tell the cashier I want a refund if the ECB doesn’t print.

Good luck to those who try it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If it doesn’t work, you can return the unopened item 🙂

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Please reply here if this worked or didn’t work for you this week…
Seems like a GREAT deal!! (Just making sure it is worth the trip to CVS)
    Thanks!!

    • Summer

My CVS (metro Detroit area) does not carry Hawaain Tropic Lip Balm 🙁

      • Jane

        Troy CVS?

    • Paige

      Hey yall,

I just tried this deal in Metairie, LA. It was hard to find them, but the deal DEFINITELY did work. It came to 5.98 +tax (which I paid for with old ECBs, and a $10 ECB printed on the receipt. If you can find them, go do it!!

      • Melissa

Hey there! I’m in Metaire too! Which CVS did you find them? I usually shop the 24hr store on Veterans or the small store on Transcontinental.

        • Paige

Hey Melissa, i found them at the one on severn and west esplanade (right by mcdonalds before lakeside mall). They were right in the middle of the store – TONS on them. good luck!

          • Melissa

Thanks for the tip! I will ck the one on Vets first, then head to the one on Severn if Vets doesn’t have them.

            • kristie

Hi Melissa. Where you able to find the HT on Vets?

            • Melissa

hey Kristie, no I wasn’t able to find them at the store on Vets. I looked high and low, all over the top shelves, endcaps, hanging racks! The only spot I did not look was the seasonal aisle.

    • Summer

Just got back from my CVS in Ft Lauderdale and it totally worked!!!! Woohoo! $1.99 each x 2 and I got $10 ECB back! I left with a bag full of items, paid $18 and had $18 in ECB. Love Collin and CVS! And, they didn’t have all of the hangtags out yet, so I think that helped my chances at scoring all of my things on sale/those with ECB’s. People didn’t know about them yet.

  8. kara

I just checked for this item at one of our CVS store in town, and they didn’t have it. I’m going to check the other one after work… FX!

  9. DP

On the topic of rainchecks, I tried to get one for Sweet n Low when it was on sale (because they only had 1 and I wanted 2 (no Limit) and they said since I got that one, I would have to return tommorow and ask for the raincheck, since they were not technically out! Wow.

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

what section of the stores are these in? with the other sun stuff or the lip balms?

    • Summer

I found them in the suncare section

  11. RH

Did this deal work for anyone yet??

    • kidsallgone

We need to have a “CVS chat room.” LOL!!

      • Hoang Van Nguyen

as i said, it worked for me. I ran back home to confirm this deal worked. Now i will go to other CVS store to buy use other card for this awesome deal.

        • Heather

I’ve always wondered why people get multiple cards when the program is based on a loyalty program.

          • Hoang Van Nguyen

hey, i posted this in peace, just wanted to confirm the deal is right, so some people here can get this deal early to avoid “out of stock”. How many cards i have is none of your business.

            • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

As far as multiple cards, my managers (both) told me that I can have up to 5 cards! I only have 2 – and even then, I usually use just one since it can get confusing! lol

          • Lynn

To ruin things for everyone else – just like the Extreme Couponing show is causing stores everywhere to tighten up their coupon policies making it harder for the average coupon user to shop. 🙁

  12. Hoang Van Nguyen

it worked. I just went there and back home after i read this post. I bought 2 Hawaiian tropic lip palm at $2.99 each and got back $10.00 EB. Awesome

    • whitney

can you please tell us where in the store they were?

      • Hoang Van Nguyen

it places at the skin care isle. You will easily recognize Hawaiian tropic lip palm that next to Hawaiian tropic the sun care or lotion

    • kidsallgone

      Poof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      Headin’ out!!
      Thanks 🙂

    • RH

Thanks!!! Cant wait to try it.

  13. Cassie

They didn’t carry this at my CVS; I think you’ll have better luck at a bigger CVS.

  14. Elishia Reynolds

Where is a cvs store in utah that is close to payson?

    • joy

check out cvs.com then click store locator 🙂

      • Lisa

I didn’t see it on their website

  15. Heather

I’m so tempted to try this deal but I want to hear that it actually worked for someone first. 🙂 I don’t want to be the guinea pig!

  16. Janoce

Did not find the lip balm but found a shimmer lotion 20 SPF that was also $2.99 bought two and the $10ecb did print out!!

    • Bethany

Whoa! Great price! Was this a mini sized one or clearanced or something?!

      • Janice

No, they weren’t on clearance..they were located in the “beauty” area..you know where they have the “pretty” new makeup items..they were in a cute bowl and just regular price is $2.99! I figured I’d try it…! It worked! I’m located in Largo, FL area..these were up on Ulmerton Rd

        • Janice

Ohh..and they were small bottles…2 oz…its says “new” on the bottle too…

          • Bethany

            Thanks!!!!

    • Miao

It worked for me in Sarasota, FL with the small bottles shimmer lotion 20 SPF. $2.99 EACH plus tax, and got $10 ECB.

  17. Jennifer Watkins

Where are you located? And where in the store were they? TIA!!

  18. Cindy

    Off Topic –
I am trying to win tickets to see the Cake Boss in person in Tulsa on Facebook and would love for my Hip2Save friends to help out just “like” The Frosted Bowl on Facebook and write Cindy Schwickerath on their wall for me to win!!! Thanks so much everyone!! =))
Thanks a Million! I really want to win so I can take my daughter!

    • Linda

      done : )
      Hope you win!

      • Cindy

Thanks Linda! Let your friends know to vote too! =)))

  19. Melissa

I have found that the lip balms are not always with the sun care items, but rather on the lip care aisle, or even hanging on special racks on different aisles. So if you can’t find it, look around. Don’t just assume your store doesn’t sell them, they may very well be hidden.

    • Janice

I went to two stores and didn’t find them (I really wanted them too! since I’m in FL and would love “lip protection”!)…but did find the ShimmerEffect 2oz bottle in the beauty area…also $2.99 – bought 2 and the $10ECB printed out for me! I’ll take it! 😉 I’ll shimmer w/burned lips…(lol..just joking!)

    • Stephanie

yep… I second this one… in my store they were hanging on a random endcap

      • meryl

same here in Orange County, CA- woo hoo!!! Thx Collin! =)

  20. yvette

It works… just got my $10ecbs ….upc 075486087760. Vanilla mint scent / Hawaiian tropic lip balm

  21. Amy

I’ll be heading out for shopping tomorrow will post back if it works 🙂

  22. Erin

No lip balms in Richmond, VA.

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just did it. Worked like a charm. I paid $6.51 after tax. Got back $10 ECB. No problems!! Good luck everyone!!

  24. lori

looked in the lip aisle and the suncare aisle and in the seasonal aise..I checked three CVS’s without luck! 🙁

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The ones in my store were with the sunscreen. And they were on the very bottom shelf.

  26. Michelle

Worked for me! Located right next to the sunscreens.

  27. Lisa

I found them with the Sunscreen and I got the $10 ECB!! Thanks Collin!

  28. Jeannie

Worked for me! Used my $5.99 ECB from buying Zyrtec last week to buy the Hershey’s Bliss, then used that $5.99 ECB to buy the Lip Balm! Walked out with $10 ECB!

  29. Liz

This worked for me in Orange, CA. I was just walking down an aisle and found them hanging not in the chapstick aisle and it worked! $2.99 each but got $10 ECB

    • Gina S.

Thank you for confirming the deal in So Cal area!

  30. todasky

worked awesome! there are several places where you can find there products so make sure you look everywhere!

  31. Bonnie A.

Worked for me in Nor~Cal! Had to search for them 1st! 🙂

  32. Lindsay

Totally worked for me in Southern California & It was such a great deal!! They weren’t with the sunscreen, they were hanging on the end cap next to the other chapstick/lip care. YAY!

    • christina

      where in southern california?

      • TD

wondering the same…i am in SD and went to the store to pick up a few items…it wasnt marked and doesnt scan promo on the price checker…does it usually scan on magic machine to tell you if it has an ecb? i would have tried at register but long line to have 2 transactions with my bucks rolling over ;)c

      • mira

Hi christina i tried this in orange county area and my mil tried it at a dif cvs in same area and worked for both of us

  33. Linda Hahn

Worked for me in NorCal (Fairfield)!

  34. Roxy

Worked for me in South Florida but I had to go to two stores to find them! I used the Hersheys Bliss $5.99 ECB from yesterday to cover OOP and bought a .79 cents 2 liter of Diet Coke to cover the overage. Just an idea! Total oop= .83 cents

    • Amber

What store in South Fl did you find them at?

      • Roxy

I found them at a store in Boynton Beach, I had to check around for them because at the first store the manager told me that there are CVS stores that are considered “beach stores” and get more suncare items such as this lip balm. Although really that does not make much sense since other stores which are closer to the water did not have them LOL. Anyway, I hope that helps.

        • Amber

          Thanks

  35. Niki

Aint no find such thing at my CVS store. That lip balm look attractive though.

  36. lizzy

worked for me in San Jose, CA!!!

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Anyone try in college station/ Bryan area?

    • Melissa

I tried the CVS on Rock Prairie Rd – no luck! How about you?

      • Deanna

Texas ave has the 2.99 shimmer sunscreen 2oz. It works for ECB.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just went to texas ave and they had 4 left so I got two and it worked!! The cvs on villa Maria didn’t have them

          • Melissa

I went this morning but couldn’t find them 🙁 I had a bad feeling that they would all be gone, but I couldn’t even find an empty spot on the shelf where they were supposed to be – where did you find them?

            • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They were in the summer area where all the beach stuff is at. Like in between the food area. They had four left when I went and I bought two so there were two left.

  38. jmartcougar

    anyone try this in Houston?

  39. Katie

It worked for me today at my CVS.

  40. Lisa

I bought two of the small 2 oz. sunblock shimmer lotions. I have been wanting these…so glad to get paid to buy them. Another option is to buy the After sun coolada lotion (this stuff smells devine) $8.99 and a small 2 oz shimmer or lip balm $2.99 and use a $2 q on the coolada lotion and you will still be getting both products for free after ECB. That is a great deal on the lotion.

  41. Maria T.

I was just at the Marina Village CVS in Alameda, CA and found these after some searching. They were on an endcap display with all of the Coppertone products. They are packaged in a 4″ x 3.5″ blister pack and were hanging on a peg. I bought two for $5.98 and got the $10 ECB. 😀

  42. amber

hey yall i posted a pic on hip2save fb page of the shimmer display everyone is talking about. that way u will know what ur looking for. it did work for me to get the $10 ecb

    • Sarah

      Amber, Thanks!!!

  43. Stephanie

Just a tip…. if your store has a scanner at the front (the coupon machine thingy) it also works as a price scanner. If an item is on sale or included in a sale from the ad it will show it on the machine when you scan the item.

  44. ketsy

I bought 2 lip balms (coconut flavored) for 2.19 each 😀 . Used 2ECB from previous promo. Total 2.30 plus tax. Got 10 ECB, bought 18pack of Cottonelle toilet paper and 2 2-liter sodas…$0.37 plus tax. YAY!

  45. Tiff

Yeahhh…worked for me. I bought two lip balms(tropical flavored) for 2.99 each. I paid $5.98 with ECBs and .48 cents oop and received $10.00 ECB. Thanks Collin! Went to my CVS in Las Vegas. Lip balms are hanging on a plastic holder in the end caps.

  46. Margaret

    Hi everyone-

Tested this out, worked for my CVS in the Los Angeles area. They only had the Vanilla Mint flavor, but that’s fine by me! Thank you SO much, Collin!

  47. meg601

Hi- I just tried this in Santa Barbara and it worked. I DID have to walk around what seemed to be a million sunscreen displays.. i found it at the last one in the back of the store! I also had a 30% off coupon from a purchase the other day so that ended up to be a goooood deal. Thanks! 🙂

  48. Teresa

Anyone find this deal in the Fort Worth area? My hubby & I had a little “scavenger hunt” going on at the CVS on McCart! He wanted to help, and so we had some fun trying. But no lip balms or 2 oz shimmer sunscreen. It’s great that so many of you have found the deal, even out in Ca!

  49. guest

Looked in San Francisco (Market Street) location. No look, but I will look again later this week. I realized that the lip products were ALL over the place so I might have missed it. Also, i wasn’t looking for the shimmer lotion. Will update everyone!

    • guest

I meant to say no luck.

  50. justastudebt

    It worked for me ^_^!!!

    • Erin
