UPDATE: Use coupon code L7C8F9D to save 15% off one item…thanks, Alisa!
Are you looking to purchase some books for an upcoming road trip or maybe you want to get a jump start on Christmas?! Well, here’s your chance as Barnes & Noble has quite a few Children’s Books marked at up to 85% off their list price! Just head on over to the Children’s Summer Clearance, search by price (low to high) and you’ll find quite a few books marked down to just 99¢.
I was able to find the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Deluxe Sticker Book priced at just 99¢ (regularly $6.99), Angelina’s Lucky Penny (my daughter loves these!) priced at just 99¢ (regularly $3.99) and much more. And spend $25 or more and you’ll snag FREE shipping. Come back and let us know what great deals you find!
*To sweeten this deal further, go through Shop At Home for up to 5% cash back or go through Ebates for 4% cash back!
(Thanks, Gwenn!)
I did this last year and they cancelled 4 of the 6 books I was going to order. My original total was over $25 so that I could get free shipping, but when they cancelled my 4 books a week after my order, they went ahead and added in shipping charges since my new total would be less than $25. I thought it was rude since they didn’t inform me of the charges and since they were the ones that cancelled the other books, but they wouldn’t budge when I called. I know a lot of other people had the same issue last year so beware. They might cancel a lot of your order and hten charge you shipping!
I ordered lots of kids books, 21 in all, for $27 total. I am concerned about the books being cancelled now that I read this post. I am ready for a fight if they charge me the shipping. That is just bad customer service.
Same thing happened to me~thanks for the reminder!
So, I just got off of the phone with them because 2 of my items were cancelled and I got an email saying I had to pay $18 for shipping. The rep was super nice and said there would be NO shipping on my order. She said the first email I got was in error and even re-sent the proper ones with free shipping (even though I did not do the 2 month trial deal). She said I am a member (which I don’t remember, but okay) and I would not be charged the shipping even though my order was under $25. =-)
Do you know if this is only online? Or if I head over to my local B&N will a lot of their books be marked down to such low prices?
It had an option to “Search for this book in-store and pick-up in store” so I’m assuming that they probably have a lot of these clearance. I plan on going in tonight. I don’t want to take a chance on them cancelling some of the books and charging me shipping. It did say that in the fine print about ordering clearance books that they might not always be available.
I searched for a lot of what I wanted in-store and it was available so I plan on going later.
Use coupon code L7C8F9D for 15% off one item.
For some reason Shop at Home’s link takes you to Danskin.com — I just went through ebates.
If you have a discover card you can get 10% going through shopdiscover. Also L7C8F9D will take 15% off one item, only 15 cents if you are getting all .99 cent books, but hey a coupon is a coupon right!?! I just got 26 books for $27.40 and will get the 2.74 cash back. Sweet!
Thanks!! I scored 6 books for 6 bucks with free express shipping!!!
Alisha, how did you get free express shipping?
There is an add for a free 2 month trial to something and you get free express shipping, so I am assuming that is how she got it. HTH.
I have a BN membership but you can sign up for a free 2 month trial membership and also get free express shipping!
I remember last big sale online they also had the sale in the store – but they were spread out on a bunch of tables throughout the store, so it was hard to find what I was looking for!! It’s definitely worth checking out 🙂
I just placed my order about an hour ago and already received a shipping notice. Everything I ordered was shipped so hopefully no one gets anything cancelled this time!
Almost all of my books were canceled last time as well.
Yeah,I had most of mine cancelled last time too.
I placed an order again and we’ll see… I got 12 books for 26.00.
Hope they all ship this time.
Anybody know if there is a code for free shipping? I don’t want to spend $25, but the shipping is more than the books!
I know you can’t always believe what you hear…especially if you have had a negative experience before first hand, but i called customer service and the woman did say that as long as the cancellation is due to them not having the book then shipping should not be charged if you had more than $25 in your original order. I asked her for her name, and she was really rude about it. I hope this order works out well…if not you can better believe I won’t go near BN.com again!
ordered a few young adult books for my 12 and 13 year old and a few books for me…11 books for 26 plus tax, hope they don’t cancel any…we are big readers in this house!
I hope none of my books get cancelled I would defiantly fight customer service on that! I ordered 12 books for 25.88!
FYI- I ordered books yesterday before reading everyone’s comments about cancelling some books. I was worried, but I got an e-mail today saying all my books shipped-phew! 🙂
