I was wondering the same thing, but according to the FAQs on their website the answer is NO.
What items do not qualify for Rewards?
Items that do not qualify for Rewards include: purchases of computers; monitors; TV’s; prepaid gift, merchandise, debit, phone or services cards; third party services, including, without limitation technology, installation, wireless services, and postage stamps. Purchases made prior to the date of enrollment or made with Office Depot® Rewards or Merchandise Cards/Certificates do not qualify for Rewards. I think you can use your rewards for rebate items like the paper and get a pre-paid VISA card back which is what I like to do to turn my rewards into cash 🙂
does anyone know if you can purchase these things off their website and still get the same deal/rewards? I’m not sure if I can get to the store, but would like to still get some of this stuff…such a great deal on the paper..for coupon printig of course 😉

Can you explain to me how this works? I don’t understand how they can set up a program and I can really get all this stuff for free? Do I need to purchase so much first? I just joined after seeing this post. Thanks for your input.
Just an FYI or two, they now limit it to 10 cartridges per month. Also, you can not get rewards unless you actually have spent the same amount during that calendar year at there store (or online). For example, I turned in a lot of cartridges early in the year and then never got a reward at the end of the 1st quarter. When I called to inquire they said you must spend at least that much in store before they’ll give you credit for the recycled catridges, i.e. your rewards will never exceed the amount of money spent in the store per calendar year. A little frustrating if you don’t spend a lot of money there. I think Staples gives you the rewards back no matter how much you spend in store…
is worklife rewards like rite aids up rewards where you get the reward and can use it in ut next transaction?
