do we know how they compare to coastal contacts ?

    • Barb

There is no comparison. STAY with Coastal. When the prescription is wrong at Firmoo the return policy stinks. Here is quote from email to me.

You will receive a 100% refund for the frame plus 50% of the price of the prescription lenses if they are the 1.57 Aspheric, 1.60 index, 1.67 index lenses, 1.74 index lenses, polarized lenses, Polycarbonate lenses, progressive lenses, bifocal lenses or Photochromic. For Wraparound prescription sunglasses, the refund will be 50% of the total price. The refund on the shipping cost should be minus.

I have a question about getting glasses online, for those who have done it. Do you go to a store (any) first, and try on glasses, and then try to find the same brand? Also, what about adjusting them after they arrive? My glasses always fit wonky till they bend and adjust it just right.
    TIA!

    • Pam

Any place that sells frames will be happy to adjust your glasses for you for free. I ordered a pair from Coastal Contacts recently, and they fit just fine. I also just ordered a pair from this most recent offer. For less than the price of a pair of sunglasses at Target, I just got prescription sunglasses. Talk about Happy Friday. 🙂

      • Pam

Forgot to answer your first question: I have worn glasses for years, so I know what style I like that looks good on me. You can use their online tools to try them on virtually if you want.

    • Emilytwinmom

I get my “ordered online” glasses fitted and adjusted at Walmart or Target’s optical center – for free!

  3. Melissa

It’s only good for glass up to $8. I tried it with a pair of $39 sunglasses and got an $8 discount. Not gonna do it esp. not for a brand I’m not familiar with.

    • rebecca

$39 is already very reasonable for a pair of sunglasses. The $8 discount just saves you some money based on the low price. 🙂

  4. Minde Yorchak

I heart you Colin! I got a cute pair of glasses for $5 shipped from Firmoo and another pair from Coastal for $10 shipped today! 2 pairs of glasses for $15, can’t beat that!

  5. tracy

    looks like crappy lens

    • rebecca

Actually many customers are satisfied with firmoo’s glasses even if for the $8 ones. You can see there’re many comments stating they love the glasses.

I still say if you are looking for cheap but good quality glasses try zenni optical’s website. You can upload your photo and try the frames on that way, and their customer service is amazing. We have ordered seven pairs of glasses from them so far, and have had excellent glasses every time. One pair came crushed in the mail, and they sent another pair two day air since it was for my three year old (to replace the pair he broke!). It does take a few weeks normally to get your glasses, but seriously – I paid $53 for a pair of high index lenses with really nice metal frames and a pair of clip on polarized sunglasses. Where else can you do that? This is just my two cents, I don’t work for zenni or anything 🙂 I just got sick of spending $700 on a pair of glasses!!!

    • Dawn

      I agree 100%! I LOVE Zenni!

  7. Shea

I just ordered mine. I only got the 8.00 off, but how can you beat a pair of perscription glasses for 20 dollars? I also ordered a pair a few months back from Coastal Contacts (which I absolutely love) I am hoping the pair that I ordered are as great as the ones from coastal contacts.

  8. ginhawks

You can only choose from the free frames that are shown when you click the link on their facebook page, otherwise you only get $8 off. Still beats the optical shop!
Once again, Collin, you’ve saved me a ridiculous amount of money. Thanks!

Do we know how long this deal will last? I know it says 31,000 and thy’re doing 1000 a day, but when did they start it? I have my prescription but I have an eye appointment next week, so in case my prescription is different I would like to wait until then if I can.

  10. Judy K

I wonder if they will offer different frames each day of the sale??

    • rebecca

No, all the free glasses are listed in a specific page and won’t change everyday. But we’ll add some new models into it nonperiodically.

  11. Robin

It takes quite a while to get to the part where you can enter the “free” code. I need bifocals, and, even though I chose a “free” frame, it only wanted to take off $8.00!!! Not sure it’s worth it. I keep hearing about Zenni and with all the great stuff I’ve heard, I think I’ll just go with them!

    • rebecca

The price of bifocal lenses is only $16.95. If you use the code it will save you $8 off. That means your bifocal lenses only cost you $8.95. I think there are no bifocals that are sold at such reasonable prices by now.

  12. nicole j

did not get any from here as i was not very immpressed but just ordered from coastal contacts

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Holy crap, finally someone OTHER than Costal Contacts!! (they only allow you one free pair per household, and both my husband and I wear glasses)

Overall I paid 14.95. Shipping, plus I opted for more expensive lenses.

With as strong as my prescription is, and with as much as I have to shell out (300+ for a pair of glasses through my eye doctor) I am not going to complain for a 15 dollar pair of prescription glasses.

When I did this through costal contacts, my hubby’s pair was $12 (in shipping alone) so I figure $15 for me, with my way stronger prescription, isn’t anything to sneer at. I have tried Zenni, but even they want to charge me 40-50 bucks per pair.

My only gripe is that the frames I REALLY liked were sold out. So I defaulted to my old style. (Again, not complaining. If nothing more, I’d LOVE to have an emergency pair of glasses.)

    • rebecca

Could you please tell me which frame you would love to take? Then I can contact the inventory dpt to see when they will be restocked.

  14. Melissa

Ok, so all the frames I liked that qualified for FREE were sold out, so I started exploring. I ordered a pair with an anti scratch coating and the free uv coating (or vise versa, I forget) for under $12. I can waste $12 pretty easy on not much (despite the couponing I do;) ). Ii can’t wait to get them. Worst case, I only wear them at home. Thanks Collin!

    • rebecca

No worries, Melissa. Firmoo’s glasses won’t disappoint you.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

the facebook page isnt working for me. i click on the link and it says navigation error… any suggestions?

    • rebecca

Maybe this resulted from the network. You can try it again later or change another browser to try it if necessary?
