Tried shopkick for the first time in my target store this weekend. It did not recognize I was in the store??? Too bad. Was excited to try it.

In order to find the area for the promo code for the iPhone, just complete the following steps (after registering):
-Click on your name for your profile

New To Shopkick and so confused. When i click on my name for my profile it just takes me to “Edit your profile” and then lists my name, sex and DOB. I just can’t figue out how to find the promo code page 🙁 What am I doing wrong??
Just signed up for shopkicks a couple of weeks ago. Very easy to sign up, participate in. Coupons load directly to your phone. I have an Android phone, so that is the app that I have been using. (Can’t speak for Iphone App : ))Just FYI some stores are aware of the program, and others are not, so I have had some issues redeeming phone coupons, but that might be because the app is relatively new. As more people use it, it will probably get easier to redeem though Target has been the best so far at redeeming them, at least from my experience so far. : )
Basically, you download the app, set up an account which takes less than 30 seconds, and your done with the hard part. Then you go into the store entrance area of a participating location (find their name from the menu in the near me/nearby tab) open the app, wait for the values to come up, and after you page through a few of the values for that store, it will register your points. (You’ll hear a bell sound to let you know you got the points.)
Some stores will have points for just walking into the store (after opening up the app at the entrance and paging through values), others you have to scan specific items to get the shopkick points, kind of like a scavenger hunt. A lot of times I hand my son my phone to scan the items so that it makes an ordinarily boring shopping trip a little more interesting for him! : )
To scan the items in-store, you have to find the exact item, use the scanner in the shopkick app (not another scanner app). Most of the times the items are easy to find. The only downside is when you go to the back of the store and try to scan items, sometimes I haven’t been able to get the items to scan due to 3G reception issues (could be phone : ))
On the plus side, you can get points here and there even from your home, a few at a time, just for clicking on any circles that have numbers. It takes two seconds, and is kind of fun : ) Have been using app for about 3 wks and already have over 750 points, so it’s easy to get the points. What I like too, is that it doesn’t take a million points to earn a reward (unless of course you are saving up for the cruise! LOL) There are lots of goodies to redeem for. Hope that helps others understand a little bit about how shopkicks works, and how easy and fun it is! : )

At least 500. And that’s just for Best Buy. It’s higher for others e.g. Target or Macy’s at 1250. Scans earn 10, or 25. Store signal check ins earn 60-100, just clicking on stores local to that store is 1. Hope that was helpful.
at least download it. i always do my “kicking” when bored or waiting ie. doctor ect. just by having it sometimes it will automatically pop up with free coupons ect. a few weeks ago they did a best buy promo… i think it was a free $5 coupon.

Hi! Does the app work w/ a 3G iPad? The thought of taking pics w/it in store is kinda funny, but I have a Blackberry so no app avail. for my phone 🙁
This reminds me a lot like the CheckPoints app and a little like the WeReward app where you don’t just scan a qrCode or a UPC but you submit a pic of ourself with that store’s logo. (Not for the camera shy.) Quite a new take on the Gowalla’s, Formspring’s, and Facebook Places of literally, yesteryear when they were so popular. Now it’s actually worth doing…

I joined too, but no 15 for signing up :(. Got the 50 though.
My husband and I used (or shall I say, tried to use) Shopkick for close to a year and always had problems with it. We had continual problems with trying to find the right signals in the stores to collect the points, and the app often froze our phones (he has a Droid X, and at the time, I had a Droid 2). We ended up redeeming the points we had for $15 in Target gift cards, which was nice, but we’ve since deleted the app. I hope that it’s gotten better, and that you all have better luck than we did because it could be a lot of fun when it works right. 🙂

I don’t think so, it looks like it is limited to just one code. I think those posting codes get a bonus for each person that joins, hence the multiple code postings. : )

No you don’t have to have a facebook account to use shopkick.
For Facebook, you can always setup a profile just to get the offers. Your real name/ pictures/updates/friends/ are not required to setup an account. Just use your email address that you use for couponing and go.
I entered the code and got my 50pts. Made an account for my husband’s phone and theres no place to enter even one code. What gives? BTW eneter skyblue8803 for 50points!!
I can’t find it either…I have Android on HTC Evo…looked everywhere, went to profile, but it only shows “My Stuff” & “My Badges”, then if I press the menu button on my phone for “more”, it just has invite friends, edit profile, which only lets you enter name, bd, etc., account settings, etc…oh well…?? Still love it!

I have been using this app since the day it came out and have been able to collect over 125,000 kickbacks so far. I am in the Chicago area where there are a lot of malls so it is easy to collect. For those of you having trouble finding the signal for the walk-in points, the signal is always located right inside the door. The previous versions allowed you to see if it was picking up the signal easily at the top right with the green guy lighting up. This feature is still there but a bit hidden. On the iPhone version if you go to the list of stores and click on the settings menu at the top left, you will see the unlighted kickback guy. When you are nearthe signal, he will light up green, stay there a bit for the points to come through. Sometimes even when he turns green, it doesn’t work. I found that by quitting the app fully and restarting the phone helps a lot. However, for those of you with limited data plans, be careful as sending data packets for the points can get stuck in a bottleneck and be sent multiple times. My brother had a problem with this and ended up going over his package by 200mb.
I also had a question for those of you thathave redeemed for target gift cards. Do you get a code like for best buy, if so, can you use it online?

I am so jazzed to try “shopkick”! Just downloaded on my iPhone, and it was easily downloaded and all the instructions everyone has given were very helpful, but I did not receive any points and everytime I try to enter a “promo code” this is what comes up: “That didn’t match a valid promo code.
