    • Michelle

My Wags said they are not allowed to put out the coupon book until Sat at midnight.

Been wanting to buy one of those temple touch thermometers for months! They don’t seem to ever go on sale. To any moms of little kids out there, one of these is definitely worth checking out.

    • Stephanie A

i did NOT like the temple touch thermometer. but my kid moves constantly and is super nosy lol so it just didnt work for me…. ps is it sad that i have my list for walgreens already done, ready and waiting for these coupons to come out? lol i think not!!

  4. Lindsey

I can never find them at my store, anywhere else I can get one? online maybe?

    • Ashley

i found them at the make up counter before… HTH 🙂

    • Anne

I won one from Exergen (the makers of the temporal scanner thermometers)! They had a contest in January: guess the gametime temperature for the Superbowl. Well, since the domed stadium is kept @ 72 degrees….that’s what I guessed. Only 50 people won…..:)

  5. wanda

I just left Walgreens and heard from a friendly that starting 8/1/11 all rewards will have to be spent on 1 item. If you have a $4 reward you spend it on 1 item that cost more than the $4 or it will be priced down to the cost of the one item. Starting 9/1 there will no more rewards. They will all be rebates. She also said to go to their website and complain. -Wanda

Well, too bad for walgreens. I already stopped shopping there, because their employees were rude, so it’s their loss. If they don’t reconsider it, they gonna lose customers. We still got CVS and Rite Aid!

      • Kristi

I agree Roxanne! I went to CVS for the first time today and the employees were so much nicer and knowledgeable about their own coupon policy.

    • Ashley

thats wierd…if it’s like the single check rebates at rite aid you would think they are loosing money because unlike RR’s you don’t HAVE to spend your cash at walgreens…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Interesting. I guess we will see if this actually comes to pass. I think that people will dramatically cut back shopping there if they stop the RRs altogether. Their past rebate program was discontinued because it wasn’t too successful. Most shoppers don’t want to wait several weeks for rebates. The best part of shopping at Walgreen’s is being able to roll RRs from deal to deal. Otherwise there isn’t much incentive to shop there since their prices are not very competitive. I wonder if this is their idea for limiting purchases due to smash & grabbers.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I hope that is not true. I work there and have not heard anything about that (doesn’t mean its not true because they never tell us anything). I was told the reason they stopped rebates is because people were getting the money back and returning the items to the store and getting store credit as well. If they go back to rebates that will just be sad because it takes FOREVER to get the money back. Too bad no CVS or RiteAid around where I live. 🙁 I will ask about this when I go to work tomorrow. Hope its just a rumor.

    • Mel

walgreens did away with their easy saver rebate program in favor of RRs. I can’t see them going back to rebates. And telling us what to use our RRs on? I think that is a load of BS and will make for many unhappy customers.

Has anybody heard that CVS is about to come out with an updated coupon policy (similar to Rite Aid with not being about to use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale and not use another value off coupon if you are also using a BOGO coupon). I’ve read about it on several shopping forums that this went into affect earlier this month!

      • Laura

They already do not let us use any other coupon with a bogo promotion starting last week at CVS in Boston!

    • Jessica

I’m wondering if they will be moving everyone to their Walgreen’s Reward Card program. There are only three locations that have this currently (Portland, OR-where I live, Kansas City, MO, and Richmond, VA). Most of our ads have “extra points” earned for purchases instead of RR. There are still RR, but only on about a third of the items in everyone else’s flyers. Personally, I like getting the RR rather than the points. You can redeem the points for gift certificates to Walgreens or other other retailers. You earn 10 points for every dollar spent. It takes about 3000 points to earn a $5 GC, 5500 for a $10 GC, 13,000 for a $25 GC, etc. And you only earn points on the out-of-pocket price of the item (after all discounts and coupons have been applied).

  6. hilarycol

It seems silly they can implement such a change without some forewarning!? I did not earn them on that premise, I should not have to spend them that way!

  7. Shannan

Free Sharpies this week? In ad coupon for .69 2 pack, plus 1/1 coupon booklet=free! Right?

    • Melissa

I think the .69 cent coupon only works for the Sharpie highlighters, but the $1/1 coupon is for the Sharpie pens. Not sure, though…

  8. TARRIBEAR

I quite shopping Walgreen’s long time ago, the RR at that time were to hard for me to keep track of what I could use them on and what items I couldn’t. I just decided to stay with CVS, it is closer to me around 4 miles and Walgreens is around 9 miles.

  9. sashagrace

I had a weird Walgreens experience today. I checked out at the cosmetics counter and everything seemed to go fine until the end, when she just handed me a receipt. Now any Walgreens shopper on here knows you never leave with just a receipt…ha! I asked the clerk about the register rewards and she said all their machines were down. She said it had been that way for three days. I didn’t really know what to do, since the deals I was after would be over tomorrow and it didn’t seem like it would be fixed by then.

Then she just said they could basically refund my RR amount to me in cash! (Although why we didn’t do that in the first place I don’t know…people might be missing out on them because I had to ask, and others might not have as much experience with the RRs to know to ask for them. So that part wasn’t so good.)

So she returned all the RR items, then rang them up at the price minus the RRs. Took $3 off for the Scunci hair ties, $1.50 off for the Perfection tampons, etc. I didn’t need that many RR items this trip, so it wasn’t a huge amount, but wow. I was surprised they were able to do that.

It means I can’t roll my RRs this time, but that’s OK; I’ll be back next week and can start over. 🙂 I just thought it was an interesting way for them to handle that for their customers. Has anyone had that happen before?

    • sashagrace

I said “in cash” and I should have been clearer; she just refunded it to me on the debit card I paid with.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

When the RR at WAG does not print–they usually just give me a Gift Card, although
I have to notice that I didn’t get the RR in the first place!

  10. mammaclingman

Can you combine a manufacture coupon with a coupon from the booklet?

    • Roxanne

      Yes, you can.

  11. Patty

Our Walgreen’s will not allow us to use a manufacturer coupon with the coupon in the booklet. They said it is part of a “new” policy, but they’ve been doing that with us for about two months now.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I know for sure that is not a new policy. If it was all Wags would all HAVE TO do the same. I would call your district manager. For your manf coupon to work you have to scan that first then the coupon book, but I have figured out some Wags stores come up with their “own policy” just to deal with “crazy coupon people”. It is frustrating when I coupon at stores that are not my store and they come up with crazy stuff like that. ( I just tell them I will call their district to ask because another store doesn’t have that policy, their story usually changes and they say they will allow it “this time”, like they are doing me a BIG favor).CRAZY! (Oh if you can save an ad that advertises you using a coupon book coupon with manf coupon). Like Collin says “knowledge is power”….know the policy and don’t let them bully you around.

  12. JinniMc

I hope this doesn’t happen. I’m really a big fan of the RR. I despise the CVS care bucks because I have to wait like 3 mos before they print out and at Wags I can spend them right away, which for me with such a limited budget is a HUGE plus. I can’t stand waiting to get reimbursed to a discount or rebate. If you’re going to offer it, just offer it…Seems silly. At my job that would never fly! ‘Yes, Mr. Customer we’re going to give you a discount, but you have to wait 3 mos to see it.’ Um, no thanks. Please keep the RR, Wags! 🙂

    • Roxanne

CVS has the extra bucks that print at the end of your receipt. The ones that print every 3 months are the 2% you get back on your purchases. They basicall have the same RR like walgreens, only with a different name.

  13. JinniMc

Oh, I guess I’m confused. Because it seems like I only get the extra bucks every few months from them, even when I’m trying to buy something I’m supposed to get them on. Guess I’ll have to check more carefully next time. I was just so turned off the few times I tried and didn’t get them, I gave up. Thanks for the info. 🙂

  14. Brittany

I can’t wait to stack the eos shave lotion with the $1/1 coupons I got in the mail!
