Here’s what you need to do to snag your free glasses…

* Head over to the Coastal Contacts Facebook page now, “like” them and click on the “Free Glasses” tab to snag the coupon code.

* Then head over to CoastalContacts.com and pick out your favorite frames.

Here’s what a few Hip2Save readers have had to say about this promotion…

I can’t thank you enough for posting this deal! My boyfriend needed glasses for a new job he was starting, however we just couldn’t afford them. He had recently had an eye exam done, but we were needing to save up for the glasses. I was a little hesitant, at first, to spend the $15 for shipping on a pair of glasses that we weren’t sure would work out. After reading the reviews and comments on your page and seeing that the website gave specific measurements and details about the frames, I went ahead with the order. We couldn’t be happier. The glasses fit amazingly and they are working out perfectly! Thank you!

I got my glasses on Wednesday that I ordered last week and I LOVE them!!!!  I got the purple Joseph Marcs, and they are great!  I plan to recommend Coastal Contacts to all of my friends and family!!!

Giveaway Details/Rules

* Only the first 10,000 people will be able to use the coupon code to snag a FREE pair of glasses including the frame (note: You will need to pay shipping and handling costs of between $10 to $15. Lenses and all lens upgrades including coatings, progressives, bifocals, tints and high index lenses are available at an extra cost with standard lenses starting at $9.95). Keep in mind that if you have received a free pair of glasses from Coastal Contacts before, then you are not eligible for this promotion; limit one free pair per household.

* This promotion is only valid for web orders. If you need help with your web order, call the optical staff at 1-866-333-6888.

* Certain frames are NOT eligible for the promotion. If you see a “Coupons not applicable” message on a pair of frames, then it is excluded from the promotion.

* You will need a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription (it’s different from your contact lens prescription) and your PD measurement. Sometimes your PD will be on your prescription, but if not, watch this instructional video on how to measure it.

* After you have chosen your frames and selected your shipping method, you’ll go to a “Order Review & Payment” page, where you can enter and apply your coupon code. After applying your code, you will see your order total before you choose to check out (remember that you will have to pay shipping/handling charges of $10-$15 and lenses will start at $9.95)

* If you would prefer to order a pair of prescription sunglasses, you can use the coupon code and then you can add a tint to your lenses and simply pay for the cost of the tinting, which is about $45.

* If you’re not happy with your glasses for any reason, Coastal Contacts will allow one exchange for another free pair at an equal or lesser value. They’ll even pay for the return shipping and send you a return label. Just give them a call at 1-866-333-6888 to make arrangements. Remember to keep your box and all the accessories that came with your order.

Just got my glasses I ordered yesterday and they look amazing!! My total was $33 all together but I added the coatings bundle. These look exactly like a designer pair I was looking at. My insurance charges $40 for one coating so this was a no brainer after I read awesome reviews on this site. Thanks so much for postings these deals!

the lenses aren’t free. just the frames.

    • Sonia

Thanks for the explanation. I kept trying to get the free glasses and it kept coming up over $30 with no coating at all. I’ve heard Zenni optical is good too.

      • Melissa

My sister used Zenni and only paid $19 total. I think I may try them out instead. I’m getting a higher total at Coastal even with the free frames.

I checked this out at coastal and I didnt think it was that great of a deal. I found eyebuydirect.com, ordered glasses, with a clip on sunglasses,,shipped for 16 dollars. I used a coupon code I found online to receive 15%off. IFCAKCJA12 thats the coupon code. Check them out.

Yeah, this is just for free frames, not the lenses. I feel stupid for not realizing this last night when I saw it.

  5. raniah

I see that this is for free frames and not the whole pair of glasses…is this ever for free glasses? Should I wait to order?

I need to get my 6 yr old another pair of reading glasses. Unfortunately I don’t have his Rx handy but I’ll have to try this out next time it comes up!

My husband and I got ours yesterday (I’ll send you a pic, Collin) and we love, love, love them! I got the Derek Cardigan Fade frames with the regular 1.5 lenses and added the bundle for the glare, scratch resistance, etc. My total was $35. I simply called Vision Works in FL (I live in CT) and they faxed (albeit 6 hours later) my prescription. I had to call them for the PD reading, however, which is something that is done when you pick up your glasses. If you don’t know your PD rating, mine was 28.5 each eye (57 PD) and my husband’s was 63, I believe. My husband upgraded his lenses and got the bundle package as well and I think he paid $78. He was in need of new glasses. Much better than $200-300 we have paid in the past at brick and mortar places.

Just a word of awareness- the PD is not part of your standard Rx so do not be surprised if you are charged for this measurement to be taken or they are less than thrilled to do it for you. This is a very important component in your glasses being made correctly and if it is incorrect your vision will not be clear. You may also find them charging you if you bring them in to be adjusted after you receive them. Please be understanding if this happens as obviously online purchases of eyewear reduce their revenue and the β€œextra’s” that used to be included with your in store purchase can no longer be given for free. πŸ™‚

    Hi Guys!

It looks like this promo is a little different that previous offers through Coastal Contacts. You now have to pay for lenses which start at $9.95 + shipping/handling which runs $10-$15. Only the frames are free…darn!

I just dropped $225 on lenses alone yesterday at the doc (not to mention the $150 additional for the exam and frames). I pay extra for thiner lenses because the glass is normally pretty thick due to my crappy -7.5 vision, plus I add an extra glare coating for light sensitive eyes. Anyone used this company for pretty bad vision and add ons for the lenses? Playing around online, my total is about $100 so I’m not sure it’s worth the risk in case it doesn’t work out. I’d love to cut some costs since I don’t have vision insurance, but my eyes are pretty important to me πŸ™‚

try zenni optical online, I have awful eyes too and they work out wonderfully for me. My last pair I bought in a store cost me $760, I’ll never pay that again!

I was fortunate to get the original deal when offered for free glasses & lenses for my DH. They broke in less than a MONTH! I glad I only paid $15 for them!

  11. Heather H.

I’ve ordered glasses from eyebuydirect.com for the past 2 years. I’ve loved every pair I’ve bought. I love the fact they are cheap the purchase & I can have mulitple pairs of glasses for what 1 pair would cost at a normal eye glass store. πŸ™‚

A couple of other users mentioned Zenni, and I would recommend this route. I used them last time I ordered glasses and they are definately a great option. Although, especially with ordering glasses online, you have to know what you are looking for first, so try on some different lenses at your local optical store before you buy.
