CVS Deals 8/21-8/27

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

If you are a newbie to CVS shopping, head on over here to check out the CVS Store Guide! And if you are new to all this coupon mumbo jumbo (huh?!), then check out our Coupon Newbie section.

Before starting your shopping trip this week, be sure to scan your CVS card at the Magic Coupon Machine to snag a $3 off $15 stomach remedy purchase CVS store coupon (as stated on page 14 of ad) that you can also combine with manufacturer’s coupons for some great deals!

Also, did you know that you can print your Extra Care Bucks online (will print same ones as in store)? Head on over here and log into CVS.com (or register) to print your Extra Bucks.

*Note – I’ve received several emails from readers stating that CVS has since changed their coupon policy and is no longer allowing two dollar off coupons on a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Sale or a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon with a Dollar off coupon.  However, because I think this will vary by region and since CVS does not have an official online coupon policy in place for me to prove this new change, I am still planning to write out the applicable deal scenarios below using these types of coupons. Please note that this is a YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary), so you may or may not be able to use 2 coupons on a buy one get one free sale at your local CVS.

Want to create your own custom printable shopping list?!

Hey Collin, I have not tried that cold sore treatment but I work for a dentist and I get cold sores all the time. Well I used to before my dentist prescribed Valtrex. You can see if yours will prescribe it for you. It is usually just a phone call thing. They would not need to see you (or if they won’t then your physician might). When you feel that tingle when it starts you take 2grams (2 pills) and then 12 hours later you take 2 more grams. For me it nips it before it starts or if I don’t catch it in time (if I wake up with one) it will shorten the duration. I remember a while back you had that video and I remember thinking ” Poor girl I know how she feels”. I will warn you they are horse pills if you don’t like taking medicine. Anything is better than a cold sore in my opinion! As a side note to save some money I have them call in about 20 pills so I have plenty on hand and only one co-pay.

      • Collin

        Thanks for the tip! 😀

      • Megan

My DH also swears by Valtrex! When we were dating he had cold sores all the time & it was such a bummer when he said that he couldn’t kiss me b/c he had a cold sore! But now thanks to Valtrex and healthier eating (which has boosted his immune system), he hardly ever gets a cold sore!

      • Rose

Acyclovor (sp) works also at first feel of a cold sore coming on take 2 and 1 after that per dr. prescription. works awesome. I never get cold sores any more..

  6. jmartcougar

yay will use my $10 gc on the charmin deal to make an even sweeter deal!

    • Collin

      Perfect idea!! 😀

    • hotmamacoupon

Can you please explain. Sorry, but I have a $4/20 from the machine and I was thinking about getting the charmin deal and using that. How do you do the gas card at the same time. For 2 weeks now I have not been able to buy anything from CVS cause they have nothing I need.

      • jmartcougar

sorry about the confusion I won a $10 gift card from one of the sweepstakes and will use that to make the charmin deal sweeter!

  7. Amanda

Does anyone know anything about those 7″ Sylvania wirless netbooks? I was thinking about getting my 8 yr old one for Christmas this year, but I havent heard anything about these. I know last year on black friday toys r us had a nice one, but I really dont want to deal with those crowds! Any feedback will be appreciated!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They are terrible (the sylvania netbooks). Unless something has changed recently, they run on an operating system that is not compatible with anything that kids like to do anymore….no videos, no games, etc. Further, they are DOA 50% of the time.

      • Amanda

        Thanks for the info!

    • Wanda

Similar is the HP touchpads. These have received much better reviews on amazon. It is having the same issues as the net book (discontinued OS- will not be able to update but it may suit your needs. I am considering it for a 5 year old entertainment – not too high tech with games. The 16g is $99 while the 32 is $149. While HP (hpdotcom) states they are currently sold out but Walmart has been matching this price. Additionally I am hearing that places like staples will be offering at this price tomorrow.

  8. Mindy

Another very slow week at CVS. This is getting to be a habit 🙁

    • Collin

I agree 🙁 Maybe there will be some nice Clearance deals again like the Conair flat iron deal?

      • All4Saving

Found tons of clearance @ CVS… I took pictures of them. Hope it helps someone.

    • Renee

I’ve been going to Wags alot lately when CVS was always my go-to store. I noticed I have a $10 ECB that expires this week so I’m going to do the Charmin deal- not much else out there 🙁 Happy Birthday Miss Collin 🙂

      • Leslie

Renee – I know what you mean. I was hoping that there would be something I could not miss this week (or at least some good ECBs deals) since I have $18.99 in ECBs expiring on, like, Monday or Tuesday. Instead, I’m probably just going to roll them into the Charmin deal and be done with it, saving the next $10 ECB like before. I was even hoping for a $10/$50 to work with the gas card deal, but I apparently got all 100 of those two weeks ago! 🙁

        • Amber

Yes, check and see if your CVS will take the ECB’s expired…. my stores in the Hampton Roads area of VA will take them no matter how far expired they are. I try not to let them get too far, but just last month I redeemed about $40 worth of ECBs that had expired in February… worth a shot , especially in a slow week.

      • Julie

My CVS in Richmond, VA will honor ECB’s for 30 days PAST their expiration date. You should ask your CVS manager if they accept the ECB’s after they expire. They will not accept expired manufacturer or store coupons, I”m strictly speaking about Extra Care Bucks.

    • Tia

But you still gotta love CVS…I have gotten several free items thru Facebook promotions and I don’t think Walgreens has given anything away free except photos here and there.

  9. kidsallgone

Pretty much off topic, but you mentioned in your CVS description about printting off our ECBs from the CVS website. I haven’t done it yet, but I was wondering….if my ECB has expired, will the ones that I print off from the website have a later expiration date?

Or…if I call customer service, will they re-issue my ECBs if they expired?

And what about the coupons from the Red Machine if they have expired?
Do you think customer service would re-issue them (to come out of the machine) if I asked them?
I know some followers of yours have previously written that some managers (and cashiers?) will accept CVS qpons and/or ECBs if they have expired w/in the past week, 2 weeks, month, or even anytime. But not the manager of my closest store.
    Thanks for any responses 🙂
    And PS…..Happy Happyyyyyyyy birthday Collin!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I couldn’t tell from your message if you have asked your manager about expired ECB and in store coupons but I would do it if I was you. Some CVS by me will take expired ones but the manager has to okay them. Other ones have put up signs stating they will no longer accept them. I had it happen two weeks ago with the 5 off 25 and the manager still took it after it expired. This could also be a case by case thing.

    • Kathy

I think it is a store to store thing. I’ve never tried expired ECB’s, but some stores say they’ll take expired CVS cpns for 30 days. I’d call the CVS # on the card about the ECB’s. I’m not sure what they’ll say, but they are very customer friendly overall.

      • Cheryl

My store marks out the expiration date on my ECB and told me they never expire.

    • Adina

I don’t know how you feel about doing this, but I will just mention it, and you can decide for yourself if you want to go this way.
If you buy something using ECBs and then decide to return the item (not immediately- when they can hand you the ECB back), usually the cashier will give you a CVS gift card with the ECB value on it. The gift card does not expire.
Maybe buy something and then return it, and then you have a cvs gift card instead of the expiring ecbs?

      • J

I did that at Rite Aid….I had over $100 in Ups when they had a ton of deals going on. It was so hard to juggle them when there wasn’t anything on sale that we needed. So I “cashed” some out on a gift card that doesn’t expire.

  10. AngieB

is the mitchum coupon for walmart only? and Happy birthday :O)

    • Collin

      Hi Angie,
It says “Available at Walmart” but it’s a mfg. coupon that can be redeemed anywhere 🙂

  11. Kelsey

    A couple things I noticed…
The coupon you linked to for Zyrtec is for 40 ct or higher and the ECB deal is for a smaller count. However, on the same page there is a $2 coupon which is valid on any size.

Also, for the Rapidlash deal there is a $10 Savingstar coupon and you would get another $5 ECB back from the beauty club…So it would actually be
    Rapidlash = $49.99
    -$10 SavingStar ecoupon
    -$20 ECB back
    -$5 beauty club ECB back
= $14.99 (made even sweeter if you have a $10/$50 or any other $/$$)

    • Collin

      Thanks! I updated the post!
Also, I think the Saving Star eCoupon is no longer available? That’s an even better deal if you were able to load it to your card! Thanks for the heads up! 🙂

      • Kelsey

I was able to load it onto my card just last night, but it does appear that it’s gone now.

        • Kelsey

Hmm, well actually I’m not sure. I think it only shows up if you are logged in and have a CVS card attached to your account (because it is valid at CVS only). It still shows it for me but I don’t know if that’s because I have it activated or if it’s still available?

          • Collin

Oh you are so right, Kelsey! I was still able to load it to my card after logging into my account, even though it doesn’t show up before logging in. Thanks for letting me know!

            • Kelsey

No problem! Thanks for all you do 🙂

  12. Mitch

Will the Head & Shoulders ECB work with the free coupon?
I will have to give that a shot tomorrow.
I also have a 25% off coupon the emailed me, I wonder if I use the Pantene free coupons after the 25% I will have overage to spend on my weekly milk purchase!
    Thanks and Happy Bday Collin!
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

    • couponin NC

the 25% off coupon is only good for items not on sale I used mine thinking I was going to get a great deal and only got 1.80 off of life savers but had the bogo coupon and that made it a great deal

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Could someone explain how the Beauty Club works. Do you buy only certain items or can you buy any makeup hair care etc items?

    • Kathy

Kara, It’s any cosmetics, facial products, bath and body products, hair care and deodorant. It’s much easier to get to the $50 than it sounds. It’s free too, so… Your card tracks it, and the $5 will print at the magic cpn machine a few days after you reach the $50.. Get more info at CVS.com

      • Tia

Thanks for the info! I thought it was only cosmetics and I didn’t bother looking into further. I’m signing up!

      • dfwgirliegirl

We get beauty club “credit” for all those things!!!! WOW. I should be racking them up…I need to look at my last receipt. Thanks for posting this.

        Tiff

    • Katie

I love it!! I have gotten 4 $5 ECB from buying stuff since I joined a couple of months ago. It is always a nice surprise to see it. 🙂 It is free! So you should sign up!

I received a 25% off purchase coupon this week. It states that sale & promo items are excluded. Does this mean that I can’t use this on the Charmin bounty deal? Sorry if it seems obvious to some of you, but please be patient with me, I’m new to CVS shopping.

    Happy birthday Colin!

    • Kathy

@ feden Don’t worry, no one minds helping. To be honest, its a tough question. Technically the 25% doesn’t apply since it is included in a spec offer, so I would have said no. However, I sent a 25% off cpn to my card last week and everything I bought had ECB’s was from the cpn machine or applied to the gas deal, so I expected nothing off, but it took money off something, not sure what/why. It was a pleasant surprise.

    • Tia

When you use MF Q’s in a transaction, it can be so hard to tell. It just comes off the bottom of the receipt “1 25% CVS coupon” and the amount. There’s no indication next to the scanned item. On other note, I didn’t know they gave overage. I had the coupon for the free bodywash and it took off $3.00 (max amount) and the bodywash was only $2.27.

    • MissyLiz

You will get the 25% off in conjunction with an extrabucks deal if the extrabucks item is at regular retail. For example, if the deal is buy crest white strips @ reg price get $10 in EB, then you would get 25% off. With the bounty/charmin the bounty is on sale already (its regularly like $15 or something ridiculous like that) so you wouldn’t get it. Hope that helps.

  16. stacy

We went to CVS yesterday and the magic coupon machine gave us a free candy bar which they didnt have but the manager offered up any hershey candy bar. Plus I get a coupon for a free Hershey Air bar and free cvs fabric band aids. Not bad.

  17. amie

Not sure if the Bounty Packages at CVS have them as well, but for awhile there were coupons in the packages, 1.00/off or in the Charmin sensitive packages, there were 2.00 off the sensitive. Most of the coupons that come in those seemed to have been off any size, or in some cases, it will say 1.00 off any kind of the brand. (charmin one to be specific)

  18. Dianne

If you are near a Safeway affliated store and got the MDA coupon booklet, there is a $1.50 off any one Infusium23 or PERT purchase x 09/04/11 making the Infusium deal sweeter:
Infusium23 shampoo or conditioner 16 oz Buy 1 get 1 Free
    Deal Scenario:
Buy 2 Infusium23 products $6.99 (based on online price)
Use 2 $1/1 coupons found in the 7/10 SS or here
    Final cost $2.50 each!

Also, I forgot until the other day I saw it on another blog about the Nature Made Codes on the bottles where you can get points for bottles of their products. I had enough on hand to geta $7/1 MQ that sweatens the Nature Made deal. You can only do one a month but good enough, high value coupon.

  19. Kimberly

It’s a pretty good week this week or I think so anyway 🙂 thank you!!!

  21. Misty

Hey everyone, just hit my 24 hour CVS to try the deals. Scanned my card at the Magic Machine and it printed the anticipated $3/15 dollar stomach remedy + $4 off purchase of diapers AND wipes + $3 off CVS brand contact lense solution + $3 off NEW Hugies Slip-Ons (I believe there is also a MFR coupon for $3/1 as well to pair with that)

I ran my Bounty/Charmin/Puffs. Snag on this – you have to purchase at least $25 AFTER coupons (at my Miami CVS) for the $10 ECB to print. I had a $1/1 Charmin, $1/1 Bounty and $0.25/3 Puffs. The total dropped below $25, to $22 and it didn’t print. I ended up buying another box of Puffs to get the ECB. Not sure if this will happen at your CVS but it happened at mine maybe because of the higher value coupons on the Charmin and Bounty?

Next, I tried to get the Zyrtec-D 12 hour 24 caplets but the ECB deal WILL NOT print on these. You also have to buy them in the pharmacy and the guy gave me a hard time about my $2/1 coupon so I just used a previous week’s ECB on it instead. Just warning everyone to go with the regular Zyrtec bottles, not the D, and you should be fine!

Side deal I didn’t see mentioned – the Sally Hansen hair removal products are buy 1, get 1 50% off so I ran the following deal through:
Sally Hansen Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit – $5.99 x 2
    1st – 5.99
    2nd – 2.99 (50% off)
I used two $3/1 any Sally Hansen Hair Removal Product coupons from their website https://www.sallyhansen(dot)com (sign up to print the coupons, allows up to 2 prints)
Final total – $2.98 for two kits. Not bad.

Also wanted to mention that my CVS did not have any of the Colgate Clinical in stock – the workers didn’t even recognize the box in the advertisement…they might have it in stock later by Weds, so I’ll check back. Hope you all have a great week!

    • melissa

If you bought 1 charmin, 1 bounty and 3 puff, that’s only $24.48, which is .52 short. That’s probably why the ECB didn’t print, as coupons normally don’t affect ECB deals.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m so glad you said this. I thought I was going nuts trying to do the math on Collin’s scenerio. I didn’t think it was adding up. Guess I’ll just get an extra box of tissues!

    • steph

Hey misty, did you mean your store was out of the colgate optic white? if so that is great , grab a raincheck, because I think coupons are coming out for these in next weeks paper.

  22. charm

Thank’s Collin and Happy Birthday… wishing you long life, you always make our shopping so easy. God Bless!

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I wanted to buy one of those sylvania notebooks for couponing. I live 30 miles from stores and I miss a lot of deals and while traveling. does anyone know if they will work on the coupon sites? ie here, southern savers, coupon mom and the like? I always take all my coupons with me but most of the time it is just a hassle to try and find a coupon.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I bought those sylvania netbooks for my kids last Christmas. All four kids. THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!!! STAY AWAY!

    • Dani

I bought 4 of the Sylvania netbooks for my 4 kids at Christmas last year. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
First of all you have to call some country overseas to get them to walk you through about 10 steps that you could never in any lifetime have done on your own without them talking you through. All this to get it so it will connect to the internet. Enter their codes etc. Turn things on and off, etc.
But before you can do that, you have to get them to return your phone call. No one answers the phone. It took 3 weeks before they called me back!
After I finally got them to walk me through it, it did connect. BUT I ended up having to do it EVER time I turned it on! If you buy one you had better write down all steps carefully.
So they do work, marginally. They do not open many many sites. And it takes too long to get them to work.
      I returned them all.

  24. Marie

This weeks ad wasn’t the greatest. I did the Charmin/Bounty $10 Ebucks deal but other than that there wasn’t anythingt appealing. Scanned my card and only 2 coupons. One for the stomach remedies and one for CVS pantiliners. No freebies this week on my card.

  25. MamaAng

Are there different ads in different regions? Dr Pepper was not in my CVS sale paper, and it scanned as full price in the store. i’m bummed, because we are big Dr Pepper drinkers!

    • MissyLiz

Dr Pepper is distributed by different bottling companies depending on where you live. In PA where I am it is distributed by Coke so Dr Pepper is always a part of our Coke deals.

      • yangzi

Dr. Pepper is part of Pepsi Co, here in Indy!

  26. kristin

Question about the Schick Razors…I have a CVS q for a $2/any disposable. Will this not work on this posted deal?

    Thanks!!

    • Kathy

Kristin, Unfortunately, I don’t think you can use the $2 cpn because these are not considered disposable razors. They have refills available for them
      .

  27. Hal

My CVS had same model of Conair at 75% off but it did not print the $5 ECB so I returned it.

    Deal Scenario:
Buy 1 Conair Ceramic 3/4″ Straightener $32.99 (this will likely be marked at 50% off)
Pay $8.24 (it should ring up at this discounted price even though it is not marked; be sure to have the cashier price scan it first)
    Get back a $5 Ecb
    Final Cost $3.24!!

    • Kathy

Hal, I think the ECB ended yesterday. It’s still a great price!

    • Misty

The $5 ECB off of a Conair product is valid until 8/27; however, I think they fixed the “glitch” where we were getting the $5 EBC off of clearance items last week (it does not apply to clearance items). I bought a flat iron Friday for $7.99 and got $5 ECB’s. Found another one today for $7.99 and did not get the ECB’s because it was a clearance item; still a good deal though.

  28. megan

the only pinesol coupon i see is the .50/1.

    • Collin

Darn, thanks for letting me know. There used to be a $1/1 coupon at that link, but they must have changed it to a $0.50/1 coupon now 🙁 Sorry for the confusion!

  29. Stephanie

FYI-The magic coupon machine at my CVS gave me a $3 off any battery purchase so I was able to get a 4-pack of Duracell batteries that were on sale this week for free! When I went to check out, the register did not even say I needed to pay tax-that never happens! Hope others get the same great coupon!

  30. Valerie

In the new September issue of Allure magazine with Salma Hayek on the cover there is a $1 coupon for the Colgate Optic White toothpaste so free with coupon. If I recall correctly it is around page 80.

  31. Jackie

This may be an obvious question but do you have to spend $30 in ONE week to earn the $10 gas reward? Last week I was at $27, and today my receipt didn’t mention anything about my balance. Does that mean I’m back at $0? I didn’t see anything in the ad to say otherwise.

    • NIKKI

Yes every week you start back at 0 and ims so sorry you only needed 3 more $s 🙁

      • Jackie

Oh, bummer 🙁 I just assumed I had this week to spend the remaining $3. Oh well, live and learn!

  32. Andrea

My magic coupon machine gave me coupons for free Carefree pantiliners, free CVS fabric band-aids, and a free Caramello candy bar. My little girl scanned it again, and I received $2 off any Huggies and $2 off any vitamin. If we’re ever in the area, sometimes I just pop into CVS to scan my card and see if we can score any free stuff.

  33. Tina

I got a great deal on Rapid Lash. I was able to get it for $.58 after the $20.00 ECB, the Saving Star ecoupon and the 25% off CVS coupon that I was sent last week. I have been wanting to try this, but didnt want to spend a lot, if it didn’t work.

  34. Amber

HI! Could someone please explain to me how I get my extra care rewards? You know the 2% you are supposed to get back?? Shouldn’t have I received this from Spring 2011, it says online it will be issued on July 1st. Thanks! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Mine print out from the magic coupon machine when I scan my card, but I dont think the next ones come out until Oct.

  35. aura

i have alot of expired coupons
i know someone can use them but dont remember what to do
posted like a week ago no respond
i would hate to dispose of them when someone can use them

    • yangzi

You can send them to military families oversea. They can use expired coupons, I think, up to 6 month? If you google here at hip2save, you can find more info. I remember reading Collin posting about it recently.

  36. Alissa

I seen Maybelline Mascara on sale at Wal-mart for $3.48. So with the $1/1 coupon that would make it $2.48.

Hello guys… Hey i was wondering if anyone has try the huggies slip up deal at wags this week??? I tried today and the register wouldnt scan the sale price $8.49 wags Q… The manager explained that the slip ons already had the RR thats why they werent included for the Q. yes, lots of ppl posted in the Wag post that the in-ad cpn wasn’t working with the Slip Ons. I tried too, but was told the in-ad coupon only applies to the regular diapers & pullups since the Slip Ons are running a RR deal.

    YES!!!!
Colgate Optic White toothpaste 4 oz or toothbrush 1 ct $2.99 = $2 Ecb (limit 2)
    Pay $2.99
    Get back $2 Ecb
    Final cost $0.99!
** Any coupons to sweeten this further?

The toothbrush is a 360 which means if you have a $1.00 off it’s FREE, or a coupon for $.075 off it’s a good deal!

hi collin – will the $10 ECB still print if my total is less than $25 after coupons (for the Bounty/Charmin/Puffs deal)?

Went to CVS today and the magic coupon machine gave me NOTHING! Not even one coupon! I don’t think I have ever had that happen before! What’s up?

Finally made it to CVS this morning and did the Burt’s Bees deal, along with Revlon & Starburst. But the Burt’s Bee’s ECB didn’t print… caught it before walking out of the door. Some reason the $6.99 tinted lip balm didn’t count, so the cashier force printed it. Very slow week!
