Happy Friday: Coupon Wrapping Paper?!
Sent from reader, Amy: This was my birthday present this year from my husband and my son. They were so proud of their choice in “wrapping paper” knowing coupons make me happy. My knee jerk reaction was a gasp followed by, “those are expired, right?!?”. Love your site and have been hooked ever since the day I found it!!!
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

That is really cute. What a sweet husband and son you have!
LOL! What a great husband and son you have.
Hahaha, love it…. My first reaction was “I hope they didn’t ruin any good coupons!” lol
LOL….That may have been my reaction also….So cute! Happy Bday!
awwwww haha thats soooo sweet! In my house it would have been, “Lets see if we can drive her nuts and waste her coupons” instead of doing because I like them 😉 lol Happy Bday! Mines Oct 6th!
Too cute! For all the cashiers out there, we’re all wearing invisible coupon hats. They see us coming from aisles away!! 🙂
Also, I’ve got a good “happy friday” story myself! Checked the mail today and got the free John Frieda foam hair color Q. But here’s the kicker… it expires TODAY! Knowing I have a $4 off CVS Q from the red machine last week, I planned a CVS run pronto! Looking for a purchase that would eat up the overage, I saw that there’s an offer for free JF shampoo/cond in the ad. Then I found a $1 MQ for it. So far, $5 overage… I’m hyperventilating.
At the store, the cashier and manager debated over the Q usage, but gave it to me in the end. And the big cherry on top — got a $3 ECB because they are part of a Curel buy $10 get $3 ECB deal. Who knew! If any of you happen to have the same set of Qs, ruuuuuuuuunnnnnnn!
Happy Friday all!!
That sounds like it might go against CVS policy. As Collin pointed out (regarding CVS coupon policy): click on the second “Answer” link and see that it states “Note: Coupons cannot be applied to a “free” item.”
And if it is not treated as a free item, but as an item with coupons, their policy says (regarding “multiple coupons”: The coupon amount will be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other
discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
lol. This is something my huspand would do too =D so sweet. I love it when they appreciate what we do. Happy Birthday. Mines Oct. 7 cant wait!!!
Ha ha! That would have been my reaction too! Cute!
so cute…. my husband gets few things done by teasing me tat he wud harm my coupon inserts!!!! My heart skips a beat, although i am sure he wud not do anythin of tat kind……he knows i love them too….
lol! good one! happy bday!
This is perfect timing…I love it! My birthday is on Monday and my husband was asking my 4 year old daughter what they should get me as a gift. She matter of factly replied, “Coupons! We need to get Mommy coupons for her birthday because she LOVES coupons!” lol She is learning young! 🙂
lol that is too funny
lol
I just showed this to my husband and he said “I can see you having the EXACT same reaction if I did that.” LOL. I love this photo.:)
How sweet 🙂
But I’m curious, what was in the package?
When I was in college in the mid 80’s, I dressed up as a coupon queen for halloween. I got the Burger King Crown and attached coupons to it. Then I wore a large green plastic garbage bag that I attached tons of coupons to. It was so adorable as all the young men were picking my coupons during the night. If I only knew then how valuable all those coupons were!?!?!
(This is my picture.) THANK YOU so much, Collin for the Amazon gift card!!!! My birthday was back in May but I just got around to sending this picture in. Thanks again for picking my picture! And, more importantly, for all you do!!!!!
What was the gift? We’re all curious!
Oh- it was a 3 tier jewelry holder that I wanted to hold my many bracelets and necklaces. (Sorry, nothing relating to couponing.) However, I did tell them to use a 40% off coupon when buying this at Michael’s!
Sounds neat!
This gift from your son reminds me of a Valentine from my daughter. She couldn’t think of anything to write inside and the teacher prompted her to write something that would make me happy. She brought home a big red valentine, written in her 1st grade scrawl, “Hay Mom. Big Shoe Sale.”
THAT is way cute!!
Too funny!
I would have freaked out and made a couponing fool of myself before I realized they were expired!… Now, you made sure they were ALL expired, right?
HaHa!
My co-worker did same thing to me, normally we pin money on birthday, but they pin coupons on me. 😉
Coach Factory Store
My boyfriend and I use the ads to grocery stores we don’t go to and Rite Aid ads when I’m done. We don’t feel like buying wrapping paper.
now I want to know what’s under the wrapping paper???
haha love it!!! I would have almost had a heartattack too wondering if they were expired =) Happy Birthday!
