      Good grief!
Are they serving caviar now? How could 2 people dining frugally spend that much on one meal?
We ate at O’Charley’s Sun afternoon for a little over $18.

      • Michelle

LOL that’s a little rude. Maybe she wasn’t trying to be frugal, maybe they went all out.

    • Carrie

      Yeah, cocktails don’t come cheap!!!

PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO TIP APPROPRIATELY!!

As a server that’s couponing to pay my bills, its ironic that I kinda hate when my restaurant (a large chain) offers coupons & deals like this… because it almost always means my tip (i.e. my INCOME) is automatically reduced. I love to see other people saving money (don’t all of us couponers??) but not when it means I LOSE money. So please, please, please, base your tip on the pre-discounted amount 🙂

I base my tip on service.

      • Susie

As you should!! All I’m saying is if you are very satisfied with your service, base your usual tip percentage (20%, 15%, whatever your personal standard may be… ) on the pre-discounted bill. So lets say your bill is $30, you have a $5 coupon, so your final amount is $25. If you’re happy with the service, and typically tip 20%, you would leave $6, not $5.

I normally wouldn’t make such a big deal about something like this, but its just become SO frustrating that I have a binder bursting with coupons, yet my heart sinks when one of my guests whips out the $5 coupon from Sunday’s paper.

YES, good for you Susie pointing this out. Many of my family are or were servers and we always say if you can’t afford a tip…DON’T EAT OUT! Always tip the pre-coupon amount when figuring your percentage.

Yay! Friday’s are my day for alone time before work while daddy watches the kids, so this will be perfect!

Good luck getting a seat. I waited 55 minutes in line to get a free gyro last month. 55 minutes for $5. This is sitting down, thus taking longer, and it’s worth more than $5, so probably 2 hours to get a table.

    • Lisa

Free is never “free”, is it!

    • Jennifer B.

Ugh. Didn’t think about that. I think I’ll skip printing the coupon. For me it won’t be worth the wait which I’m sure there will be. But I wonder if you can use the coupon for takeout.

“Choose 2” Lunch Combo costs about $8.50 .. you will save that with this coupon, however the limit is ONE COUPON PER TABLE and Dine-In only. If you went alone to each lunch it would be a good deal (only would cost you your soft drink + tip) BUT if you with someone even if they chose a cheap lunch option it would still cost about $10 oop + cost of soft drinks + tip .. not a good deal IMO! 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Do you have to get a drink? The coupon doesn’t state that it is required, so maybe skip the soft drinks.
