Update on Kohls.com Chenille Socks Orders (Possible Free $20 Credit!?)

Wow! If you snagged the Chenille socks from Kohl’s.com that I posted about several times last week, you may have received a cancellation email due to overwhelming demand from kohls@email.kohls.com.  Check out what reader, Suzanne, found in her inbox…

“Just got an email from Kohl’s.  They cancelled my 2 pack Chenille socks order “due to overwhelming demand” which I got after you posted.  However, they gave me a $20 credit to use in-store and refunded my card.  Email subject line was “Important information about your Kohl’s order”. Almost trashed it.  Thought others might be in the same boat. Congrats on your move.”

WOW… what great customer service! 😀  So if your order was also cancelled, be sure to check your Inbox and double check your Spam folder for this *HOT* apology email offer. Just search kohls@email.kohls.com.  Come back to let us know if you also got this email!

    This looks like the one I received, but you cannot use it on-line. In store only, as printed on the bottom.

    I didn’t order these. Kohl’s has always had great customer service but $20 is above & beyond for $2 socks!!!

    Did anyone order the Croft and Barrel Chenille gloves? Just got mine and they sent me the SO brand instead. From reading other people’s comments, these ones don’t seem to hold up as well and run small, I am wondering if its worth contacting customer service over since they were only $2/each

      I got the SO brand too. I think it’s really up to you whether you want to go through the trouble. Kohl’s has such awesome customer service that it might be worth it to you. I’m keeping mine unless I hear you get a $20 credit. 🙂

      I called customer service. You have to exchange them in-store to get the right brand. Otherwise you can PAY to return them which is futile.

      Thanks all! Doesn’t sound like its worth it. They are really soft, just seem to be a little small. If they last through half the winter then I got my money’s worth!

      I haven’t gotten mines yet, but I just checked my order and it says SO gloves on it! What the heck? That’s not the brand we ordered! What to do??

      I received the gloves the other day as well, they are the SO brand and although they are super soft and cute… they snag and shed! I wore them for half an hour in the car, running errands and looked down to see pieces all over the car, and pant legs.

      Pretty as they are, not wearing them anymore.

      And, living in MT, the nearest Kohls is in Spokane! bummer.

      When I called last week, there was a problem with the packaging on the croft and barrow gloves. It has the SO upc # on it. If you order them, everyone will continue to receive the SO brand until they fix the packaging at the Kohls shipping center. They said it takes a couple weeks to fix the problem. They didnt have them in my store so I just returned them.

      I got the SO brand. Called my store but no Croft and Barrow to exchange. Called customer service and they let me keep the gloves and credited my account for the amount I paid for them.

    I got this too! It was for some sock I had ordered for my 1 yr old son. I was impressed that they did that. I am going to use the $20 this weekend to finish up my christmas shopping

    I got the so gloves too…called customer service and they offered to send me another pair and honor the 20% off coupon but no 20.00 voucher and I have to return them to a b& M store even though they sent the wrong ones.bummer…ggrrr

      Same here but I had to re-order & guess what?! They sent the wrong ones again! Not happy with this situation which stinks because I have been happy with all of my other orders from Kohls. I just wanted the gloves I did order!

      They will still cancel it. I pulled up the website after getting my cancellation and they were still listed. They did tell me, however…they’d still honor the sale price and give me free ground shipping. It’s worth it to me to check back into it later, great price!

    I ordered a pair of socks but haven’t received a shipping notice or cancellation email. The order status shows in fulfillment so…. I guess I’ll wait and see.

        I just got a cancellation email and the reason was system cancellation! And I was not given any credit just an apology for the inconvenience!!

          I wrote to them, they said they’d honor the sale price and give me free ground shipping, just to let them know of my current order number and they’d honor it. It’s worth a try. I’m impressed!

    Kohl’s is the GREATEST store! On Cyber Monday, I ordered the Kitchen Aid Pro Series 600 stand mixer. The sale price was $449.99. I used the 20% off coupon, got the $15.00 Kohl’s cash for every $50.00 that I spent and even got free shipping. SCORE! Three days later they cancelled my order. BUMMER! The e-mail that they sent me stated that I could keep the Kohl’s cash that I had earned. I couldn’t believe it! I phoned them just to make sure that I could not receive the mixer that I wanted so much for my daughter and to make sure that what they stated in the e-mail about my Kohl’s cash was true. It was true! I got to keep the Kohl’s cash just for my inconvenience.

    This story even gets better after I am at the store, finding and buying the same mixer.
    I used my $105.00 of Kohl’s cash to buy the mixer and used my 20% off coupon for the added savings. Although, their registers are set up to subtract the Kohl’s cash BEFORE taking the 20% off. In actuality, this was making my purchase $21.00 more than the purchase I was making on line. I took my concerns to the manager of the store and she refunded me the difference!

    So…A BIG shout out to Mimi the store manager of Kohl’s in Davenport, IA.

    I also received the email with the $20 voucher. I plan to go today and use it. I also received another email (a sale email) with an offer for Dec 15-24 of 20% everything in store, online, and kiosk (must be at least $100), but the one I am going to use is the 15% off everything in store, online, and kiosk (doesn’t need to be $100) today. I plan to print that offer out also and so I will have $23 to spend today. Fun!

      Might not work the way you plan. usually they take the $ discount off BEFORE the % discount ($23 – $20 = $3 – 15% = $2.55). Unless the voucher is acting as a gift card or store credit rather than a coupon.

    I am not impressed with Kohl’s costumer service. I placed two orders during the Kohl’s cash promotional period totaling $178 ($84 + $84) and recieving 1 Kohl’s cash each. I called CS and asked if I could have a third Kohl’s cash(1 for each $50). Long long story short -I was denied. Thier motto is “Where You Can Expect Great Things”. Bologny!!!! I have e-mailed them because of this post. We will see if they make it right with me.

      I do not understand your complaint with kohls. You earn kohls cash for every 50 spent in a single transaction. You earned what you were supposed to earn. Kohls has amazing customer service, but they can’t give you something for free at every turn or they will go out of business.

      If they were 2 separate purchases, you didn’t properly earn the extra Kohl’s cash.

      Actually to Tilla and Nicole, this is not true. I have not had experience with online orders, but I shop at the stores all of the time, and you can merge two receipts and get some extra cash. So in Kare’s case, if this was in store, she would have gotten $10 Cash for each transaction. Then she could bring the 2 receipts in to the store and have them merged to get one more $10 cash. I do this all of the time. They can even do it at the check out….don’t have to go to Customer Service. Kare, I would pursue again. But make sure the 84 is before tax. They do not count tax in the $50 total.

        I have actually combined receipts to get more Kohl’s cash in store. That is why I requested the same from on line Costumer service. My point is that some people spent $0 and got a $20 voucher. I spent $178 and could not get Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent during the promotional period on line. I don’t expect something for nothing but isn’t that what the people with canceled orders got? BTW i goofed-my name is Karen

          Just FYI, it has to be purchased in the same DAY, not during the same period. I work at Kohl’s and that is the way the rules are. Otherwise, people could be making purchases through a period of however many days and bring all these reciepts for us to combine. It doesn’t work like that.

            FYI, my store purchases were NOT in the same day and they still combined them. I have a great local Kohl’s store. I am dissatisfied with the on line Kohl’s.

    I received that coupon for another item they cancelled (a Scooby-Doo stocking hat). Went to Kohl’s today to spend it, I was able to use the additional coupons today, plus bought those chenille socks mentioned above (hidden above PJ pants, unmarked, for only 3.49). Great stocking stuffer!

    I am thinking maybe the $20 credit is for Kohl’s cardholders only…I received a $20 credit for an order that got cancelled, but my friend who doesn’t have a Kohl’s card also had an order cancelled, but didn’t receive anything.

    I got one about a week ago for a polo shirt I had ordered on Cyber Monday. I was really surprised and excited when I opened the email.. I used mine in the store today!! I love Kohl’s even more now 🙂

    I didn’t order the socks; but I did order a black shirt for my son, on cyber Monday, and I got an email that said they had to cancel that order. The shirt was around $14.00. Well, a few days later, I got an apology email AND a $20.00 credit! I was very happy! And, I’m not a Kohls cardholder either!

    I’m wearing my socks right now, so now cancellation email for me 🙁 But I am still so glad I got these socks. I am on my feet all day and hardly get a chance to sit, so there is nothing like putting on a pair of comfy socks when I get home.

    I got one for some Carters Fleece pajamas I ordered that they had to cancel. I thought it was so nice that they gave me a $20 email credit. I used to to buy my niece her Christmas gift!

    I got the $20 email credit also but it was for a sweater I ordered for my grandma that got cancelled, I was very impressed! I re-ordered the sweater in a different color so grandma will still get her sweater and I have $20 to spend, I love Kohls. I wish I had ordered socks too – maybe I would have gotten another $20!! BTW Collin, congrats on your move, I bet your family is so excited to have you home with them. Wish I had a sister that lived near me, mine live in another state, its no fun and my mom passed away a couple months ago. Gotta love every minute you can with family!! I thought for sure your big news was you were pregnant, but moving, wow – how in the world did you pull that off and still entertain us everyday with your awesome H2S!! I kinda wondered what was up because half the time my comments were awaiting moderation and the other half they posted immediately 🙂 I always dred commenting because I feel I’m making you work more, so a big thank you for all you do, can’t wait til you post your videos again!!!!

    One of my pairs of gloves was canceled (but not the others) and I got a $20 credit emailed to me also. I paired it with a 20% off coupon and got a great baby shower gift for my nephew’s baby. I am not a card holder either.

    I got the same email because a different item I ordered was unavailable. I emailed back and asked if I could use the $20 credit online since I had attempted to purchase online. The answer was yes. I just needed to email them my order number after I placed the order. Did that but haven’t heard back as to whether they actually did the credit. We’ll see…

    I didn’t order the socks online because they only had black left by the time I looked at the deal so I called my locaql store to ask if they had them in stock. The girl told me that they didn’t carry them at my store so lo and behold my surprise when I went in tonight and the socks were there and they still had a bunch, including one in the color combo I wanted.

    Part of my order got cancelled but I did not get the $20 apology email. I only got one stating they modified my order. Any idea if I could call their CS for that?

      Same here. They cancel my stuff all the time and just modify my order. Makes me so mad because sometimes the only reason i order is for particular items. They always modify but never give anyone the opportunity to decide whether ot not they want to keep the rest of the order before shipping. They modified my order one time and I actually caught the order before it shipped but they told me I couldn’t stop the order and would have to send it back. How much sense does that make? What a waste of time and money. When I got the order I refused delivery. It took me three months to get all my money back.

        I had a problem like that before. Them not letting me modify or cancel an order. So what i did was, after getting the order I went to the store and returned it. That was easier I guess than returning the package. But other than that Ive had no problem with Kohls. Im just bummed i did not get that $20 offer as that would have been really nice

    I haven’t received the same awesome customer service that many of you spoke about. I placed my order 12/12, just shipped today 12/17. I received an email this morning at 9:15 saying the order had shipped and then an hour later, an email saying that my order had be modified. I didn’t receive any credit so I decided to call CS to find out about the credit. Was placed on hold for 40 minutes as the CS rep looked into it and finally ended hanging up. This was my first order and I am not impressed. Glad some of you have had good experiences.

    Ordered mine on the 13th. Received my email today that my order was ready to be shipped. Glad I jumped when I did… Even ordered myself two sets (i’m a guy and I wear my wife’s all the time)

    I’m actually pretty upset. I live in Japan…what good is a $20 credit going to do for me, if I can’t use it online! Customer service told me there was nothing they could do.

    i emailed Kohls just to see why some people were getting the 20 dollar credit and some were not. this was my repsonse i received

    The $20 promotional gift was issued to customers with cancelled orders or items that were placed between November 23, 2011 and November 28, 2011 because of the technical difficulties that Kohls.com experienced.
