Wow! If you are in the market for a high quality slow cooker, you’ll definitely want to check out this deal! Currently, Amazon is offering up this Hamilton Beach 33967 Set ‘n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker for only $37.50 – down from $59.99! Plus, FREE shipping with Amazon Prime or Super Saver Shipping. This slow cooker also has almost all 4 to 5 star reviews by 615 people! Check out two of the helpful reviews…

We love this product! The features on it are fantastic. We especially like the probe setting. You simply insert the probe into your meat and it will monitor the cooking process until the meat has reached the desired temperature. It then automatically switches to a low setting to keep your meal warm until you are ready to eat. There’s no guessing how long it will take to cook. Throw in a few vegetables and have a home-cooked meal with very little fuss!

Another awesome feature is the clip-tight gasket lid. It’s perfect for traveling to pot-luck dinners without worrying that you will ruin the upholstery in your car from a spill.

Our family highly recommends this product!

One note of caution. Watch the price when ordering online. Amazon currently has it selling for nearly $200, but it can be found in stores for a fraction of that price–usually $50-$60.

I love this crock pot. It has two outstanding features that the others don’t–The snap on lid and the “keep warm” feature. In the past I have used crock pots that would cook with the setting of a manual dial. This new Hamilton Beech model cooks for as long as it is programmed and then it will keep the food warm until you are ready to eat. That’s a great feature for those days when you’re running late for dinner! Plus there’s the great new lid that means you can take hot dishes anywhere without a spill or leak. Outstanding product!

Hurry to order before the price goes back up.

* As a price comparison, this same slow cooker is going for $49.88 on Walmart.com.

Just wanted to mention that there were quite a few reviews of people claiming the product just “shuts off” during cooking after a few months of use. I almost ordered it right away, but I’m glad I read the reviews. My current crock pot is old as dirt, but has never cut off on me. HTH

I also would have purchased this, but there are too many pages of complaints saying this crock pot is unreliable. Defective units will switch off completely in the middle of cooking a meal.

I just got one exactly like this, except it doesn’t have the probe. As far as the reviews about it shutting off, my manual says that if you use the program setting and set your pot to cook for 6 hrs (for an example), after the cook time is up, the pot will switch to the keep warm setting. If, after 14 hours TOTAL, you haven’t turned it off, it will automatically shut off. It would be very easy to be cooking a roast or something and have it shut off. Most recipes say to cook a roast for 8-12 hours. I don’t know for sure, but this may be how it was made to be, not a flaw as some of the reviews state.

Just so people are aware, I personally prefer Hamilton Beach products, Why is because if something does go wrong…THEY are amazing at honoring there 1yr warranty against electronic defects. While everyone I know was buying so many coffee makers because theres would glitch out, I always have hamilton, when something did go wrong…they just had me clip the cord, mail it in the prepaid envelope they sent me and they’d FED EX a new one for free and I would have a replacement within days. I had only had two great coffee pots in 14yrs, never had to buy a new one if the defective one stopped within a yr. meanwhile a friend goes through like 5 a yr, not sure why some people dont follow any advise, I would just get a “yeah right”. The mr. just got me a black and dec..so he broke my rule of only hamilton beach. Bed Bath Beyond has great sales on these too, I almost baught for 24.99, but I went with a triple for the mr. 🙂
    Happy holidays everyone

“This is the worse smell I even had in any cookwares. The burning rubber smell comes from the lid gasget. I tried to wash to lemon or other things multiple time, but it still smell after cooking. I cooked several pot of soup or just water, thinking the smell would go away. Well, no luck. Finally, I got an advice from another blocker, to cut the whole rubber rip out of the lid. I did, it took me some effort, since part of the rubber is in between the metal rim and the glass cover. Now, the cooker works as it should be, without any smell at all. Being a chemist myself, I don’t think the rubber is silicone as the manufacture claim. Silicone is inert and should not release any smell when heated at all. Sounds like they are doing a lousy job in QC dept in China.
My recommendation: don’t buy it! buy something with regular metal/glass cover, if you don’t want to poison you and your family with toxic chemical!”….Knowledge is POWER!

Just ordered it! This is fantastic….I’m in the process of moving and realized I need a new crock pot. Now I don’t even have to go through the search process for high ratings and low prices 🙂 Loveeee the temperature gauge. Thanks so much, as always, Collin!!

Like Vicki in post 5 above, I too have this crock pot and have used it repeatedly (probably about once a week for the last 3 months) without any problem. Haven’t had any problem with rubber smell either and I have a very sensitive nose so I definitely would have noticed it! Also, as an FYI, I have ordered an item (hair straightener) from Amazon in the past that stopped working within 3 months….Amazon was fantastic about both paying for shipping and refunding all my money. If you’re concerned about purchasing this item, take the plunge!

I also own this crockpot (mine is white not stainless steel but everything else is the same), I got it as a wedding gift 4 years ago and I absolutely LOVE it! I use it all the time and it is very convienient for bringing dinner to our friends’ houses!

  13. Janet

You convinced me! I just bought one. The meat probe and the locking lid both sound like awesome features. So what should I do with the two “old school” crockpots that I already own? How many crockpots is one allowed to own at once?

  14. STLAVONLADY

I had to comment on this post. I got this crockpot last year and I LOVE IT!! I have not had any problems. It is easy, fun and everything I have made turns out wonderful! Yay! I love things that make cooking easier!! 🙂

  15. Rachel

Had this crockpot for almost 2 years – LOVE IT! We use it frequently and have never had a problem or weird smell. Best of all, got it as an “opened box” on Target Clearance for only $22.

  16. Megan Henderson

FYI: I bought this item for $37.50 yesterday and today the price went up to $44.45.

  17. Angela

Make sure you remove the plastic protective choosing on the front panel (where the temperature is displayed) … this was the source of our burning smell. We have the same crockpot.

Make sure you remove the plastic protective coating on the front display of the crickpot. This was the source of our burning plastic smell.
