I just got 32 double rolls for $6.98 at the Kroger Mega Sale. That would be 64 regular rolls. My Kroger had machines with $2/Q’s in them in front of the Charmin.

The prices definitely don’t stay the same on Amazon. I don’t think you can add another coupon if you’re getting an automatic subscription shipment because you don’t go through the checkout process. They send you an email warning you that you have an upcoming shipment but if you don’t do anything they just automatically charge your debit/credit card the current price and ship it out to you. Personally, I usually cancel and reorder just to make sure I’m not taken by surprise by a 200% price increase. I did forget to cancel once and got a surprise delivery of baby wipes but thankfully they were still reasonably priced and I had extra money in my account to cover the deduction but it’s not something I would want happening regularly.

I always put mine out for 6 month intervals, so I have time to cancel. Also, I have heard they send a reminder before they ship. I however cancel mine the day the items come-so I don’t forget! HTH

I’m not sure on the measurements, but I got this deal a while back and the rolls are HUGE! And its a nice quality paper.

I don’t think so, that’s over $1 per roll. Not exactly sure what the best price is but I usually aim for less than 50 cents.
I pay 1.08 per roll of select a size Wegman’s brand (regular price) & they are comparable to Bounty select a size in my opinion. I used to buy the bounty basic for .50/roll but I was using more & the quality wasn’t there.

Now….where did you gals come up with the max you will pay for an item. **Is there some kind of book, link, information out there?** Being new and all, I’ve gotten caught up in what I think is a great sale when at the store or looking at ads. I’m also not the best with sitting down with a calculator and figuring this out. Also, I have a feeling I’m in a different area than most of you and have different store/different prices.
I’ve always heard and been told that $.25/roll for toilet paper and $1.00 or less/roll for paper towels 🙂 so I aim for that or less!
Check out Collin’s video series for great newbie videos and store-specific videos – they are awesome! I think some pricing depends on where you are located and the store you shop. RIght now I can get Special K cereal for $1.83, but I try to get cereal under $1.50/box. That said, with the sale they have I will include other cereal bars & crackers, so it’s worth it to me to get those prices down. I would aim for under $1/ roll on the paper towel as well. And you should never really have to pay for toothpaste and deodorant!

Just to let you all know, I did the math on the Bounty paper towels. If you do the subscribe and save AND use the 25 cent coupon that is on that page, it come out to $0.999 a roll or $1. I decided to get it this time and will probably cancel the subscription, but I’m also thinking I’m saving money by ordering online and not using gas to get to the store. :/
as far a good deal on TP and PT your price point should be based on sq. footage.
so for toilet paper 1¢ per sq foot. look at the bottom of the package and see the total sq foot per package. if the package says total square feet 728 then you shouldn’t pay more that $7.28 for the package. if it says 650 sq ft. don’t pay more than $6.50…with coupons you can get it much lower often times.
for paper towels it’s 3¢ per square foot.
amazon is tough though because i can’t see sq footage on the site or on the photos (which they should be, obv. they’re edited). I’ve been able to follow this rule most of the time with sales and sometimes with coupons. it’s interesting too, once you start looking you’ll notice HUGE discrepancies between the sq ftg of various brands even though the rolls are the same count. we’re not brand loyal though but marcal, charmin and scotts are probably the top three brand i buy (not in that order) and sometimes the white cloud from walmart when i have a coupon.
Our WM ad (Altus, Ok) just came out and shows on the front page the Charmin Ultra Strong Mega Roll for $10.47 (down from $12.24). So for the 36 rolls on sale at WM right now the cost per roll is $0.29. So this is actually a really good deal since you get more for a much cheaper price!! And almost three times the rolls for half the price.
