If you are a newbie to Walgreens shopping, make sure to check out my Walgreens Store guide. …And if the coupon jargon below starts to confuse you, take some time to read through the Coupon Newbie section.

Also, as most of you may know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy. You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here. *NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink.

Thanks for posting! Love your Walgreens list. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are welcome! 🙂

    • Kassie

      NEED HELP!!!! SOS!!!

      Dear Collin,

I’m a new couponer and I invested a lot of time and effort into my 2 month old couponing, but today a deal scenario shattered my spirits of couponing and I’m seriously doubting the efficiency of couponing Vs COSTCO prices. I went shopping at Walgreens today to stockup on the Lysol Toil Bowl Cleaner deal which was 2/$3 armed with a $1 off coupon and got 8 16 fl oz bottles for around 8 dollars, came home and compared the price to COSTCO and found it to be the exact same price 🙁 (same with TIDE detergent) , where is the fun? Could you please suggest few items worth buying at Costco than wasting time and effort clipping coupons?

      • MommySpendsLess

First, here’s an article Collin did on Costco a while back: https://hip2save.com/2011/02/23/4-tips-to-be-a-hip-costco-shopper/

Second, when I first started couponing about 5-6 years ago, I went to my cheapest nearby store (in my case, a Walmart Neighborhood Market) and walked around writing down the prices of the two dozen or so things we bought most often. That list gave me a baseline to work from. If I was beating that price then I was doing pretty good with my sales/coupons – maybe not the all time best possible but it was worth my effort, kwim? After I’d been couponing for a while (6 months to a year) I began to know in my head what was an average, good and great price for the things we need and didn’t have to refer to my notebook anymore. For an average price I buy it if we need it, for a good price I pick up a couple extras and if it’s a great price I stock up for a while (NOT Extreme Coupon style though 🙂 )

Here are a couple of posts Collin did on price points to get you started:
        https://hip2save.com/2012/03/06/what-are-your-grocery-price-points-plus-my-new-printable-spreadsheets/

  2. Kristen

Thanks, Collin!! Don’t know what I would do without the weekly matchups 🙂

PS: Were the grocery deals from the “Hip Helpers” a one-time thing, or am I just not looking in the correct place? Thanks!

    • Ib

I was wondering as well! I looked but to no avail *pouts*

      • lonann

We just did them for two weeks and then were asked not to continue since Collin and her helpers were going to announce a different venue for those types of postings.

  3. Samuel

Thanks! Is it just me or isn’t that an amazing price for apricots? Isn’t that the cheapest they’ve been in over a year?

    • Mae

I believe you are correct – I use to buy them a lot over the past few years, but stopped thinking the price wasn’t worth the quality to eat on their own. But, I think I’ll get some this time to use in recipes.

  4. Melissa

On the recyclebank it says it takes 7-10 days to receive…just a heads up I went ahead and ordered hoping to receive in time 🙂 Thanks collin

  5. Trish

I can’t seem to find the Nasal Ease Q in the 3/11 RP – has anyone else found it there?

    • AG

It was a limited region coupon. All coupons are regional, so it’s possible your 3-11 did not have it, while someone else’s will have it.

      • amhale11

I don’t have it in either the San Diego or Los Angeles region papers . 🙁

        • LoriSaves

I get so frustrated with the Wags ad listing all the “coupon savings in most Sunday papers”….EVERY coupon listed in their ad….EVERY….we did NOT get. The Nivea, Aquafresh, etc….
Our region didn’t receive the high-value Nasal Ease coupon (actually I’ve set to hear from anyone who DID get it so if you did please comment here, and I think I saw a Similisan coupon but I might’ve accidentally thrown them away 🙁

I don’t know what to do- how can I convince SS and RP to actually send my region coupons? Our RP has 8-10 coupons on average, and the SS maybe 20?

I’ve generally been unsure about buying coupons but I was curious and bought some whole inserts from someone in FL- the size of their inserts was incredible!!! I’ve written many manufacturers asking them to consider including my region in their coupon distribution and have been sent a few coupons as a “thank you for your input” but nothing else…

          What do you all do?

          I live in Northwest Iowa.

          • ferann

I live in MI and my local papers coupons stink they never have the good coupons. I have to get up on Sunday morning and go buy a Detroit paper to get the better coupons. The Detroit paper did have the $5 off Nasal Ease.

          • Melinda

I’m in Charleston and our paper sucks too. We only have what’s list about 50% of the time and our inserts are very thin. I’ve been buying 3 whole inserts out of Tampa and 95% of the time the coupon is in there. The nasal ease, however, was not…but it’s better than what I would get around here!

          • Kristen

I live in Maryland (Baltimore-ish suburb) and we got the Nasal Ease coupon. We don’t get all the “regional” coupons listed, but I have noticed lately we’ve been getting more of the regional or higher-value coupons.

    • Karen

For anyone in CO/Western KS/WY : I live in Colorado Springs and get the CS Gazette daily AND I get Denver Post-Sunday only. The Denver Post inserts are ALWAYS twice as thick (and have the “regional” coupons) as the Colorado Springs Gazette. More than pays for the subscription. Just FYI!

  6. Amber

Could you get a raincheck for the $2.99 pepsi next today and use it tomorrow and still get the $3RR?

    • Mommascott

My Walgreens doesn’t give out rainchecks

      • pepethewepe

How can they not give out rainchecks?

        • Diane L.

My Walgreens will give out rainchecks for sale prices but not for register rewards.

          • pepethewepe

Mine’s the same. I used to work at a Walgreens, and we couldn’t ever legitimately NOT give out a raincheck that was due to the customer.

            • angela

this type of situation happened to me, I got a raincheck for the item and it also said i would get the rr, when i went to redeem my rc at a different walgreens they said they don’t do it. i went back to my original walgreens and they did it. i was told it was totally up to the store manager if that store would issure rain checks for rr

    • Shayla

My Wags only issues RC for sales; however, if when you redeem them there happens to be a RR promo, I guess it’s up to your manager whether they will allow you to keep the RR or not. YMMV =) From my experience though, if they issue you a RR today, probably won’t have it restock by tomorrow.

  7. Ash

The WetnWild nailpolishes were .69 annnd bogo at my Walgreens! Bought a bunch to use as incentives for my girls at work =)

  8. Marissa

So excited for the money maker!

    • Kari

Me too omg can’t wait I’m gonna open my Walgreen at 9am

  9. Patrice

Thanks Collin! My Coupon BFF and I are making our very first trip to Wags tomorrow via a road trip. Your match will help so much!

  10. Heather

The dove deal scenario doesn’t work. The 2.00/1 says limit one per purchase.

    • Jackie

That means you can use one coupon for every one that you purchase. So it does work 🙂

      • Heather

your right…I was so frustrated was thinking right. I went to two different walgreens. They wouldn’t let me use my coupons. The last one told me i would have to do deprecate transactions and couldn’t get a register reward. Now I believe the deal is over :(.

        • Heather

          seperate 🙂

  11. Brittany

    Thanks Collin! 🙂

  12. Kate

That K-Y lubricant is such a great deal! My husband and I LOVE that stuff, but have a hard time dishing out that much money for it. We’ll definitely be stocking up this week 😉

    • Logan

      LOL :-0

    • amanda

me and my hubby didnt like it that much but i am gonna get some for gift baskets for the girlies in the fam!!!!!

  13. Kristin

Is that Aquafresh toothpaste coupon regional I dont see it in my paper

    • John Maria

It’s on a seperate booklet, they should have them at your local walgreens, there is an April issue of Wag coupons booklet and there is a booklet for April Wag a black and white cover. SO for April booklets there is two 🙂

  14. karen

I have 2 Nasal ease q’s and 3 similasan. Im planning on getting one Ky too, and pepsi as “filler”… I have been trying to com up with a great money maker deal for the past hours and keep getting stuck half way lol! Can anyone help me out? (I will be starting with a $4 RR and a $2RR from previous weeks) I know its a lot of work, but if anyone could help me maximize these deals, I would soooooooooo appreciate it!

    • Shayla

I always have a plan and when I get there it goes kuput thanks to either items not in stock or I find something else to buy =) Right now, Easter clearance gets me everytime. Good luck!

    • Lily

buy the Goody elastics 27 pk or scrunchies 3 or 4 pk $1.99 = $1 RR
plus the Nasal & the pepsi, use your coupons plus the $4 RR & $2 RR.
pay $1 cash and get back one $9 RR and two $1 RR.
then buy the KY and a pepsi (might need a filler), pay w/ the $9 RR plus out of pocket cost.
then use the $5 RR from the KY towards the Similasan and another pepesi.

    • amhale11

What area do you live in? I’m trying to figure out if I can hit up a friend or family member for a Nasal Ease coupon 😉 but I don’t know what regions got them.

      • lovedeals

or u can buy at ebay.

        • amhale11

I have to buy a bunch if I get it on ebay, right? I’m worried that I wouldn’t get them in time and it would be a waste. Do you have experience buying coupons on ebay? I’ll check it out… thanks! 🙂

  15. Carolyn

Does anyone know if we could use the $0.50 coupon Huggies coupon from the Walgreens savings book along with a mfr coupon?

    • jiya

      yes you can.

    • kmom

Just a heads up…..if you have a Giant Eagle or somewhere that doubles this coupon…you should only pay about 1.00 for a 72 ct huggies wipes. My Giant eagle always has them for $1.97!

      • Carolyn

Thanks Jiya.. and no we don’t have a Giant Eagle here… the only place that doubles coupons is Kmart here =(

  16. Gentle

Another site said that we can use the Walgreens IVC coupons stacked with the MQ’s. Is this true? (example: for the kids Aquafresh) I’ve never used an IVC before but the language on them says vendor funded so I would assume those are the same as MQ’s. Does anyone know how these work?

    • Merideth

The ad itself tells you to use them both to get it free. You shouldn’t have any problem and I hope all those managers and employees that keep telling people they can’t stack them take note of this!!

      • CC

Mine ALWAYS tells me that the IVC is ONE MQ!! As a result, I have NEVER been able to stack unless I buy a filler which totally bites!!

  17. Sash

When will the Cottonelle deal start? The register award one.

    • Laura

It is a month long deal that started on 4-3 and ends 4-28. $2 wyb 2. $3 wyb 3. Not a great deal, but I need it and I will have the overage to use… that is of course if they have not sold out of the nasal ease.

      • Sash

        Thx

  18. kim

I found peelies at the grocery store for 1/1 pepsi 12 pack. They would make these 1.50. I think I am holding onto them for the doubling grocery store to put them on sale for 2.50 to make them .50!!!! here’s hoping! I took 2 peelies, and every single box had them on, 100’s. Watch for them at Wags too!!

    • kim

      nevermind….. the peelies are 1/2.

      • AmburG

I accidentally used them at my walgreens last week on the 12 pcks of Next and it scanned..I didn’t realize it at the time that it was on 2. So I got 3 12 packs for .99 each! But the ones we had expired the 10th!

  19. Debbie

AquaF 4 kids also avail over @ Target!
Use the Target q & man for MM on each tube…I just got 4.

  20. Karlean

where does it say the bio-oil is on sale? Mine rang up full price and I couldn’t find in the paper anywhere that says it’s on sale. Thanks!!

  21. Christina

The Yes to deal has me really confused.
    I get:
Buy 2 Yes to Cucumbers facial towelettes 30 pk $5.99 each (my store has this price on the shelf) =$8.99. Am I missing something??

    • Shea

Buy one get one 50% off, maybe?

      • Christina

Yea, I am getting $8.99 for buy one get one half off but Collin has:

Yes to Carrots, Cucumbers, Tomatoes or Blueberries hair and skin care Buy 1 get 1 50% off
Buy 2 Yes to Cucumbers facial towelettes 30 pk $5.99 each (based on online price)
Minus the Buy 1 get 1 50% off sale = $4.48 for both
Use 2 $1/1 coupons found in the April issue of All You mag
        Final cost $6.99 total – $3.49 each!

Not trying to nit pick so much as make sure I didn’t miss some thing…

  22. Alla

I have a question about the Revlon tools. Are nail buffers considered beauty tool? Also if I have a $2.00 any revlon beauty tool coupon and the value of the item is $1.99 can I purchase that legally? TIA

    • Alla

The reason I am asking this is that I went to Wags today and bought the nail buffer with was $1.99 and in the first Wags the girl told me that it was not a beauty tool and that the cataline had to be for those in the special package. Well this one was in the package too. Oh well, I did not wanna argue and asked her to take it off my transaction. Then I went to another Wags and tried to use my catalina but the cashier told me my catalin was $2.00 and the item was $1.99 a penny short. LOL…. I told her she could adjust it and it says that in their Wags coupon policy but she kept aguing and I had her also take it off my transaction. Maybe I will use it next time when there is some good deal for Revlon tools.

    • Kristen

Yes, I think buffers are considered beauty tools. When I had the $5/2 Revlon beauty tools Target coupon, I used it on buffers and nail files and it went through with no problems. Sorry your store was giving you such a hassle!

  23. Jennifer

Pepsi Next is still ringing up at 2.99 each. Buy 2, use $1 off Wags Q (takes off $2), get $3 RR = .49 each 12 pack!! I got 6 🙂 would have gotten more, but they weren’t very well stocked an didn’t want to clear them out.

  24. Lee

I visited a local Walgreens today and purchased Suave body wash which offers a $2 RR when you purchase three. At checkout, after I was given my receipt, no RR printed. I asked the associate and he said they just installed new cash registers and the RR aren’t printing. He told the manager and I was given a paper to fill out and mail in for the RR. Is this what others have faced in this situation? I didn’t say anything about it, but I wanted to just return my items and forget it, however I used a RR from previous cereal purchase, so I didn’t want to go through the hassle of it all. Any advice?

    • Kelsi

that has happened to me, I sent in the paper with a copy of all my receipts plus the cut outs from the ad stating I was supposed to receive my register rewards. The paper doesn’t say that needs to be done but I did it for verification. I received the rewards quickly and even got a bonus one for the inconvenience! =) good luck!

    • Shoshanna

I would say stay on top of it and fill out the paperwork. I had that happen when one machine ran out of paper or something. The manager helped me by doing re ringing just that item up on another register and then giving me the rr that printed (no money exchaged the 2nd time, he just zeroed out the total so the rr would print). Also in the past I have had a catalina that didnt print when it was supposed to. I emailed Coupon Network, since it was their promotion and i had to send them my receipt info, they looked into it to make sure i bought the right item and then send me the catalina in the mail. Hope This Helps 🙂

  25. Katie

This is a random place to post this, but does anyone have any extra Babies R Us coupons. I am due in one month and I got a card there and got on their mailing list a while ago, but they haven’t sent me any coupons. I need a whole bunch! E-mail me if you have some available. I would really appreciate any! Thanks!
    aaronsloveinterest@yahoo.com

  26. Lizzy

Can I use the Biore free cleanser wyb any pore strip in combination with the Biore buy 1 get 1 50% off sale? If so, how does that work?

  27. Annette

If you haven’t found a Similasan coupon or didn’t get one in your paper I found one online with a long experation date and will let you print as many as you want. https://www.similasanusa.com/coupon/thank-you here is the website it’s $1.00 instead of the $1.50 but it’s still a money maker. Sadly I am in an area that dosen’t get the greatest coupons to so I do buy some online at times. And do alot of searching online and going directly to companies and signing up for them. Hope this helps.

    • Priscilla

I tried that link and it said I was not authorized to access it. Maybe it was just my work network blocking it, or did anyone else have that problem?

  28. vaden

Scored FREE razors today. BIC Comfort 3 disposable razors 4ct are part of the BOGO 50% sale. There were $3 MQs in my paper on 4/15. Razors were $3.99, with BOGO total of $5.98. We have new registers at my Walgreens, and I had to tell the cashier how to enter the second coupon because it did beep. She pressed the payment key, then the manufacturer coupon button, and then enter the coupon amount of $2.98 and voila! free razors. I did have to pay tax, but still!!

  29. edy

If u all have a local family dollar! I never shop there it so happen that. I was looking for crates! Well, they have tear pads cupons for fabuloso, suavitel, soft soap, airwick, and lysol. The cupons have family dollar but, they don’t say redeem at that store! Its a manuft cpn they start with the number 5 the lysol it could be use on the lysol can, toilet bowl cleaner, or plastic sprayer. Airwick it can be use on can refill or twin airwick plugs! They have the pictures of items. So, walgreens has toilet bowl cleaners 2/3 with 1dlr cpns pay .50 cents or if u all buy the cans 2/6 minus 2/1 cpns pay 4 cash get 2 RR. And airwick there @ cvs buy 20 get wisk free! Buy 4 cans or 4 twin packs used 4/1 cpns and wisk free! Thank u ladys! I don’t visit this site walgreens don’t shop walgreens but, I decided to try it and did the pepsi 3/12 packs! The nasal spray have several cpns but, they don’t have it. So, did the thermacare deal, the lysol, and colgate and purex. Anybody lives in houston check ur family dollars. My cousin in DALLAS, TX found the cpns too!
