No matter how much I searched, it never gave me the option to opt out of subscribing so I accidentally did. I deactivated my account but now cancelled out getting the free item 🙁 Oh well

After I submitted for it, it gave me a log in and password and said I could deacctivate it underneath (smaller lettering). Good luck!! This thing is looking like it’s just a pain for everyone lol

It won’t give me the option to cancel out. No place to contact them either. Tried all I could to cancel and it won’t allow. Hip2Save help us?
Same problem here, said I was going to be billed for a year’s worth- ouch- help please.
If it did sign you up for the subscription, it will send you an order confirmation and on there you can deactivate your account which should cancel it. If not then you can just write cancel when it comes

I had several issues with this site! Took me about 3 tries. At least I get a “Free Lipgloss” for my trouble. Thank’s Seventeen!
They send an opt out email and even if you opt out you are still included in the sweepstakes. I opted out and thought I wasn’t going to get a chance to win lipgloss so I signed up again and it says you can’t enter more than once.
Did anyone actually get a confirmation for receiving the lip gloss? Mine only said “Thank you for entering the sweepstakes” or something like that
It gave me an email and password but no notice of a charge? Does that mean I’m good? 🙁 I’m confused I really don’t want the magazine lol

Agree. I do, too. I think all the people having trouble just rushed through without reading and looking at Collin’s CLEAR directions, including the giant arrow on how to enter without subscribing. I got through it easily, no problem. 🙂

Sweepstakes subscription orders
Hearst Magazines often promotes exciting sweepstakes on their websites. Although no purchase is necessary to enter or win, we hope that if you did submit an order with your entry, you enjoy many hours reading Seventeen magazine. However, if you accidentally submitted a subscription order while entering a sweepstakes and wish to cancel, allow 24 hours for your order to apply to our system before submitting your cancellation. The Account Summary page will indicate if your order has applied.
Log into your account (you can use the email address/zip code or name/mailing address option if you don’t have your account number yet) and if your sweepstakes order has applied, choose �Cancel Subscription� from the menu options on the left side of the screen. You will be instructed how to cancel your most recent order. A confirmation page will be displayed to confirm your cancellation. Regardless of your decision, your sweepstakes entry will be retained.
Disregard any electronic or paper bills you may receive, as they were probably issued prior to your cancellation taking effect.
I got an email from them that says my order confirmation of the magazine subscription. I don’t want to subscribe and pay $10. How do I cancel this? At the same time, I also realized how can they bill me if I didn’t enter any credit card info? Help!
Jenn, don’t worry. Just write “cancel” on the bill they sent u and mail it back. You can keep the first issue, so that’s mean the cost of one stamp for one issue of Sevevteen magazine.
If you got signed up for a subscription ( like I did ) wait until you get the confirmation email. I gt mine today. Deactivating your account will NOT cancel your subscription. When you get the email, click on the customer service link. There will be a link on the side to cancel your subscription, but you will have to log in (there are 3 different log in options). I don’t know why there was no opt-out on the screen for some of us, but it’s completely absurd that they think they’re going to get away with it. It’s going to make people not buy their magazine ever…
