Do you have to buy something to get the free one?

    • Shoshanna

Usually not. They are great to keep in your wallet to grab a quick free treat for the kids when you are running around 🙂

      • Jamie K

I agree! I always buy these when I see them, because there are so many times that we are short on cash, and we can still get our kids a great treat this way!

    • Leslie

At what Mc Donald’s or Burger King can you buy these Halloween booklet for $1.00?

      • Leslie

At what Mc Donald’s or Burger King can you buy these Halloween booklet for $1.00? In San Francisco, CA.

  2. Michelle

You do not need to buy anything to get free item but some workers are strict about them and will only let u use them if the child is present, I tried using 2 for my kids once but they were not with me and they would not let me use them.

  3. Rebecca Kremis

ida, no you buy the booklet for $1 and all the coupons are free items. so you basically are paying $1 for 12 items 🙂 hope that helps 🙂

  4. Rebecca Kremis

They are meant for the kids. That’s why some stores are very strict with it.

  5. Cathy

I really wish they sold these in Arkansas! 🙁

  6. Nikki

Fortunately, the only reason our family would walk into a Mc is to use the restroom while traveling. Junkiest of the junk food, imo.

    • Anna

Did you really even need to make this comment?

      • Katherine

I agree, that’s super rude and condescending.

      • Laura

        Some people can’t help themselves…

      • rae

Agree, waaaay too early for the “Holier Than Thou” remarks. Colin, can we pretty please have an “ignore” button?

    • Delia

I often wonder when people post such negative things what the point is for their post? To spread their cancerous negativity?

      • Harper

Seriously. McD’s might by “junky” but I would be a sad girl without their fries. Mmmm…fries.

        • Porsche' Robey

agreed their fries are addicting! lol theres no prob in treating your self if thats all it is…a treat and not a three times a day please super size me kinda thing : ) when we go somewhere far in the van i tellthe kids if they are good they can have a med fry to split and they are always good and it makes for an enjoyable trip and a quite ride home once they get their treat : )

          • amanda

That is what I do my kids love there ice cream so itell them if there good we will go get one snag play on the play ground so I don’t c anything wrong w letting your kids b kids!! Not everything at mc is unhealthy!!!

    • Conan

I think Nikki is just trying to say there are always 2 sides of a coin. ppl got the coupon should be happy and take care of their health, while ppl didnt get the coupon dont need to be sad 😉 i feel less sad tho 😉

    • Melissa

Yes, because the milk and apple coupons included are the “junkiest of junk food.” Good and bad food decisions can be made ANYWHERE.

    • Cannielle

      Ugly truth.LOL!

      • Mika

LOL I know Cannielle. It’s a free country and a public blog, she can post whatever she wants to. No need to jump down her throat if you don’t agree.

        • jc

I totally agree to each their own…but I also think if she does not like McDonald’s why even click on the link and write what I think is a harsh and mean spirited comment. We are here to help one another not be mean or make each other feel bad.

        • Nicole

thanks Mika. I agree with you. We should all be careful of attacking ppl who only wish to express heir opinion. And this statement of mine doesn’t mean I am advocating mcds or not. ONLY FREEDOM!!

        • Amy Mac

I agree she’s entitled to her opinion (ie: I don’t like McDonalds), BUT her post is nothing more than a self-serving ego boost. If she truly wasn’t interested, she’d pass by this post. Instead, she took the time and effort to enter her comments, and that just doesn’t make sense otherwise. It serves no purpose to anyone else. That is what makes it rude and offensive to people. Chalk that up to my opinion!

    • Pinky

Well of course it is junk. All fast food, take out food, restaurant food is. Most of the food we purchase in the store and prepare at home is hardly any different. Everything in moderation creates for a healthy diet. So unless you only eat raw carrots and water you are probably putting junk in your body from time to time.

      • Tilla Ham

mcdonalds makes me sick to my tummy, but sometimes i induldge the pain for a big mac…oh dear sweet big mac, why must you taste so good and yet feel oh so wrong

    • Grace

I guess you didn’t notice that the coupons are for apple slices and milk or juice. I don’t allow my toddler to have McDonald’s, but would have no problem feeding her apples or milk. Plus, how convenient when youve forgotten to pack a snack to be able to swing through the drive through and not have to get everyone out of the car. Thank you Collin, for the heads up on this. sorry people have to be so snooty. Perhaps they did not intend for it to come out that way.

      • Maria L

I teach nutrition and there are healthy choices at most restaurants, McDonalds included. Moderation of “sometimes foods” and physical activity are key. Enjoy! Thank you, Collin for posting this deal.

    • jordan

Yeah McDonald’s is junky sometimes but it’s okay to do it once in awhile. FYI it’s for apple slices and milk. Come on…the cones a nice little treat.

  7. Dianne

    Anyone find these in Florida?

    • rae

Anyone seen these in Gainesville, FL? TIA!!

    • Makayla

I live in Brevard and bought them last year for student’s treat. Not all McDonald’s have them though. I called and when I got a yes, bought them through the drive thru. 😀

      • CB

Where in Brevard county did you buy these? Thanks!

  8. vergin

is every mcdonalds have these, if not how should we find that our store is carrying these.

    • terri

      call them

  9. Ap

If you think about it, it is hard to even get 4 100% juice boxes for $1; so this is kind of worth it just for that.

  10. Amy

wow, that’s worth it just for the milks. And, Nikki, a lot of the coupons are for milk, juice, and apples…. sounds pretty NON-junky IMO.

  11. michelle

I am a manager at mcds and i just have a note to add about the availability of these…a lot of stores in our area don’t have them…I think a good rule of them would be that most corporate stores have them but a lot of stores these days are franchises- definitely call and ask before you stop in!! Also yes the reason some employees are strict is because the coupons usually say on them that they are for 12 and younger, not that I’m saying I agree or disagree, just a reasoning 🙂

  12. Toni S.

Last year our mcd charged $5 for these. When I asked why $5 instead of the usual $1 and they said they could charge whatever they wanted since it was going to charity. I bet the charity didn’t get as much at $5 as they would have at $1-$2.

  13. Andrea

Has anyone seen these in Texas?

    • Natasha C

I have on McD’s along I-35 mostly. I have also seen them in a few in San Antonio and Austin. Its kind of hit and miss.

    • J

Used to live in killeen TX they usually had them during the promotion times previous years HTH!

    • Sally

I bought 2 booklets last year in Garland TX (I-30 & Broadway). I also remember someone help Hipsavers buy this in their store and mail it out in last year’s post.

  14. Betsy

Last year I cold only purchase at one near me and all the others would accept even if they didn’t sell them.

  15. Greta

Does anyone know which restaurants are participating in UT? I found these once a couple of years ago, but haven’t seen them since.

    • Michelle Murphey

I am looking for some in utah as well!

      • Greta

I found a listing of the places that sold them a couple years ago from the trib. maybe they might have them again.

        1780 W. 7800 So., West Jordan, UT 840841265 W. 9000 So., West Jordan, UT 840884601 W. 6200 So., Kearns, UT 841183963 W. 90th So., West Jordan, UT 84088

        • Jen

That’s awesome, because I’m planning on going to one of those in a couple of minutes! 😀 Thanks

  16. marcia

Is there a limit to the number you can purchase? Anyone know?

    • IA Runnin Momma

I bought 5 in Iowa at one time last year for my kids and my niece and nephews!

      • Bb

I’m also in IA, can you share where in Iowa they are available? My local McDs never seem to have them. I’m in Waterloo area.

  17. keicyn

Just curious what the exp date is? TY!

    • Sally

No exp date. I still have some free apple coupons left from last year.

  18. mfra

Great! Hope to find these in my area. Also, Wendy’s should have some soon for $1.00 that has 10 or so free jr frosty coupons. I like that these are for apples and milk! There is not usually a limit to how many you can get but they only have so many and while they want to sell them all for charity they do want to make sure everyone gets a chance to get one if they want to. Kinda like the ethics of shelf clearing. No limit posted doesn’t mean take them all. I normally buy 25 of the Wendy’s books for the kids in my daughters class for halloween bag stuffers so they get something that lasts long after all the candy is eaten.

  19. Kami

I love these coupons, when they have them at Valentines Day I stock up on them. 😉 It makes an easy wednesday night meal before church. Does anyone else remember when the coupons they gave out had hamburgers, apple dippers, and milk? Those were the best, I hope they still give them out at other holidays. 🙂

  20. allie

Does anyone know if these are in the Killeen/Temple TX area? Or Austin?

    • J

I posted above…I used to live in Killeen …was a army wife most of the mcdonalds did promotions like this previously… Like the one by kmart shopping plaza if its still there… 🙂 HTH!

  21. allie

Has anyone found them in Minneapolis this year?

  22. allie

I understand the junk food comment, but apple slices and milk……not a bad snack choice for your kiddos.

  23. Dawn

Sorry to comment again—-I know McDonald’s is trying to promote healthy living, because of the MANY parents from lower socioeconomic regions that purchase a happy meal as the sole “meal” for a child many times! But they only reason we go to McDonald’s is for the actual “treat” or “junk food” and so I don’t like the fact they’ve only got apple slices or milk/juice as 2 out of 3 of the choices. I wish they’d offer a burger and fries for even a little more money, it would still be a savings and WAY more exciting to my kids to get “free”. We have tons of apples and milk at home—why would we care to purchase and get them at McDonald’s??? 🙂

    • Makayla

lol. I think last year they had fries. I don’t know ehy it changed this year. Maybe the people complaining about the junky food 😉

  24. Jennifer

Does the coupon indicate areas of use only? Like only a certain city or state ?

    • Makayla

No they’re usually a regular Mcdonald’s coupon. They do have an expiration date which is usually before Christmas though.

  25. Nancy

At our Mcdonald’s I ask for them and they look at me like I’m an idiot. They have no idea what I am talking about. Then I look thru my son’s halloween candy and there they are (same neighborhood, same McDonald’s). Nice to know from the posts that they are limited.

  26. Hai Dee

I called my McD’s (in SD) and they said they were selling booklets for $5, and each one had 5 $1 coupons in it. Why not just hand out dollar bills at that point? Bummer.

    • Carol_R

I wonder if the store is pocketing the difference between $5 and $1.

      • Hai Dee

They are selling a different booklet – $5 for 5 $1 coupons. I don’t quite see the point.

        • jjbpotts

the 5 for $5 is most likely the McDonald’s® Gift Certificate booklet. . . . . . Good at any participating McDonald’s® in the US. FYI, Not all owner/operators sell the 12 Coupon Treat/Snack Packs, but most will accept them, gladly, especially when used appropriately and not abused (they are generally listed for children 12 & under, one free item per coupon per child.) Managers tend to get “gnarly” when the adult (or sends the child) with 2-3 coupons to redeem AT ONCE. . . . .Trying to get an entire meal free!. . . . . . That is why some locations choose NOT to sell/redeem them. Although the recommended selling price is $1, each Owner/operator has the option to sell them at whatever price they choose. . . . . any price under $10 and you are

          • jjbpotts

            oops, . . . . .getting a deal!

    • mary g.

Hai Dee – is this in South Dakota or San Diego?

      • Hai Dee

        South Dakota

        • mary g.

i just saw this reply – sorry!! i am in sioux falls 🙂

  27. linda

I also love having these on hand to get drinks or other things for the kids. My experience has been that some McDonald’s will not allow you to use more than 1 coupon even if you have more than 1 child with you. Mind you, this is in the drive thru but I have told them how many kids I have with me and it has still been an issue. I’m sure if I hauled all three of my youngsters in and had them order individually it would be fine. Others have told me it’s 1 item per child.

    • Betsy

Sorry to hear it’s been an issue for you. I have never had a problem using more than one coupon at a time. I have three kids and we typically used 3 coupons per kid in the drive through. I guess it depends on the store and who is working.

  28. rn30032

anybody find a McDonald’s that carry these in Atlanta/Decatur, GA???>>>>TIA

  29. Carrie

Anyone know if these are available in Northern Cali?

  30. tonia

Is there some sort of way to get a list of which stores are corp. and which are franchise? I asked one of my stores yesteraday and they looked at me like I was nuts. Chances of getting someone on the phone who knows what they are talking about is no better than what I went through yesterday at a location. :/

    • dawn

If go online to the website, I think ot only lists the corp ones

    • Kerry

I bought a pack last year and gave it to my nephew for trick or treating since there was a McD’s close to his daycare. The location they went to wasn’t participating and they wouldn’t accept the coupons and made them pay. I felt so bad when I was told. I really wish they would indicate a website with the participating stores. This way both the giver and receiver fully understand the program.

  31. DJ

Has anyone found a location in Arizona?

  32. shirl

I doubt if the person that said they were selling the 5 for $5 was correct. They may have been refering to gift certificate bopoks that sell for $5 for book of 5 $1.00 certificates. I never have any luck calling them.
Once when I called and asked they said no and when we went there there was a sign on the door saying they had them for $1 a booklet. So – ???

    • shirl

      oops books… not bopoks.

  33. Jordan

Anyone seen any of these in the RDU area in NC?

  34. Larry Daise

How come the McDonalds in Nobclesville, IN is not selling the coupon books for Halloween this year?

  35. Barbara Durbon

I am trying to find the Halloween coupon booklets. I am having no luck finding them at my local stores. Can I order them from somewhere? Can you tell me if they are still available and in what store?
    Thank you.

  36. Mark A Grady

Do the McDonald’s at the Columbia Mall in Columbia, MD accept the Halloween Treats Pack Coupons?

  37. Cyndi Metzger

Why is it so hard to find a McDonald’s that sells the coupon books ! I’ve tried calling 5 shops in my area so far and no one sells the books but they will honor them.

  38. Theresa

Where are the coupon books in
    Valley Stream New York
    Thank you

  39. bob

I started buying these coupons in 2010, the store owner lets senior citizens use them for a cup of coffee. And of course I have to buy breakfast also, which is good for the company and the seniors. Thank you Mc -donalds.
