If you do end up getting one of these, or already got the coupon. The handheld system is great. The bags are a little expensive but we buy meat in bulk thanks to a handy cattle farm connection so our freezer is always full for long periods of time. When we got the machine we did an experiment, we took a regular brand name freezer bag and this one and we put them in the freezer. Not even a week later the regular freezer bag started to get frost on the inside, we’re going on months now and the stuff we put in the food saver bags are still frost free. We’re very, very, very happy with it!
I recommend the sealer machine because it will reseal potato chip, dog treats, etc. I purchasded mine directly from their website for a mere $40. As soon as I get home with meat or some veggies like corn I immediately freeze it into usable portions. I get bags only when they are on sale and get a years worth at a time (and with free shipping). I also have the jars and they are great for quick marinating. Put meat and marinade in their jar and attach jar to remove air. You can have marinades done in under an hour. So Cool.
