Target: Price Matching Online Prices (11/1-12/16)
WooHoo! I just wanted to give you a heads up on this BIG news! Target recently announced that they will be honoring online prices this holiday season, including Amazon.com (Amazon Marketplace not included), Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com between November 1st and December 16th. To price match, just bring up the online price for the item you’re purchasing on your smartphone (or customer service can look it up to confirm). Sweet!
Additionally, from 11/1 through 12/24, Target will price adjust for an item purchased in-store if it is found to be cheaper on Target.com. That’s not all! Target will also be offering up FREE Wi-Fi in-stores this holiday season to make it easy for you to use their mobile app, redeem mobile coupons, and scan QR codes! This will definitely make for some easier holiday shopping, as you will be able to get more items in the same place and also save on gas! Love that! 😀

(Thanks, Pam and Clip and Follow!)
I wish Walmart would do this :/
I agree, but walmart is to cheap! and where i live i don’t have a target
I’m excited! Thank you Collin… you’re awesome.
Finally free wifi in Targets!
Does this include Black Friday sales/prices??
nice! Plus 5% off if I use my Target Card
Just started looking into the debit red card. In your opinion, is it really worth it?
We buy our groceries there so it’s totally worth it. It’s off everything except prescriptions.
Plus if you have a red card you can get an extra 5% off with every 5 prescriptions !!
I think it’s worth it! It basically pays for the tax with the 5% off.
Not only do you get the 5% off but you get free shipping on everything on the website. I love my red card. It comes right out of my checking account just like my bank debit card.
Target’s debit card program comes out of your existing checking account. All you need is a blank check and apply in store to get it started. During the application process, you will need to choose a 4 digit p.i.n. (personal identification number) and you can choose the p.i.n. to be whatever you like it to be. I had a debit card through my bank, so I chose the p.i.n. to be the same p.i.n. as my bank’s debit card, so this way I didn’t have to remember a second set of numbers. If you qualify, you immediately receive a temporary printout that can be used immediately and until you get the permanent card sent in the mail. You will need the p.i.n. along with your ID until you receive the card in the mail. The Target debit card is ONLY good at Target brick and mortar stores as well as Target.com and you must use your pin in order to use it, but it saves you 5% on every purchase in store, online and gets you free shipping on anything online as well. When you enroll in Pharmacy Rewards and fill five eligible prescriptions at Target Pharmacy, you’ll earn a certificate for 5% off* a day of Target shopping. Stack this with your everyday 5% REDcard discount for ultimate savings (this is straight off their website).
The red card is definitely worth it…it doesn’t cost you a dime to get it, they don’t check your credit or anything like that. It is directly linked to your checking account, so it is just like using your debit card only you save 5% off EVERYTHING instantly! It doesn’t matter what the item is, you get 5% off. Why not do it? We have saved almost $200 just this year alone for buying items we normally buy (like cereal, toilet paper, etc.) Definitely do it if you like to save money! 🙂
Thank you all! I think I will go for it.
This would be great if the closest Target wasn’t 1 hour away. 🙁 Walmart is 5 mins, toys r us is 45 minutes and bestbuy is an hour.
I feel ur pain
Me too, but Walmart is becoming such a pain I hate going there. Last week they had changed their price match policy again. They price match milk, but not bread, they don’t price match produce anymore..it seems every week they’re changing the price match policy so you never know what they actually will price match when you get to the register, even with the ads in hand. Walmart’s just not worth it anymore.
Susie is that per their price match policy (on the company’s website) or is it just the cashiers saying that? I find that the cashiers are all on different pages than what the policy states.
How can u use the wifi for mobile coupons if u have an iPod touch. There would be no phone number to text the offers to. I would love to be able to do this.
I don’t know if this works yet, but I thought I’d throw it out there. I have been getting the Target mobile coupons texts sent to my phone (not a smart phone) but haven’t been able to use them. I noticed that there is a website listed at the bottom of each text, so I typed it into my laptop web browser. It ended up taking me to a page that listed each of the available mobile coupons along with a bar code at the top of the page for the cashier to scan. With the free Wi-fi at Target, I plan to take my husband’s iPod Touch and type in the website listed at the bottom of one of the mobile coupons. Not sure if it will work, but it’s worth a try!
I’ve done that for my tablet. I’ve had the text sent to my phone and then like you said typed the web link on my tablet to bring up the page with the code. Then at the register I had the cashier scan my tablet. One time they had to manually type in the bar code numbers but the other time it scanned just fine.
I just go to the website listed in the text, and print out the page w/ the bar code. Then have the cashier scan the bar code printed on the paper.
They should come up on the Target app which should work on your iTouch.
Ok, I am new to the target app (because of the free target wifi) I can’t find the target mobile coupons on it? Any suggestions/comments on how to find them? I am using an Android tablet if that makes any difference! Thanks in advance!
So I just looked at my target app and it says update now so you can save w/mobile coupons. Update requires an update on my iPod and I am SO chicken to do that as before even though I thought I backed everything up, I lost a lot. Totally afraid to do it now.
There are apps I believe for free online phone numbers that require wifi to work, find one and use that for mobile coupons, you’ll have wifi at the store to open them up 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I do have pinger text free but it does not work if the number isn’t 10 digits which the mobile#for target isn’t. I’ll try searching for something though. Thanks again!!!
iPod touch has iMessage app. Both my girls use it to text me when wifi is available. Their iPods DO have phone numbers. No need for special app as it is built-in.
Not on the older iPods. 🙁 thanks though
Just another reason to love Targets!
I am wondering the same thing. Does this mean they will do it with black friday prices?
Awesome! This might be a good holiday season for me! YAY! and the 5%off too! 🙂
Will this be done at the cash register, or will I have to purchase, and then take my receipt and smartphone o customer service?
Good question, Lana. I hope the former – waiting at customer service can be such a pain!
I know! But maybe they think waiting in a long customer service line will actually deter people from price matching. Such a diabolical plan. Mwahahahaha
Lol! I was thinking the same thing!
When Target had the guest service seperate from the checkout lanes it was 1 thing to wait but now that they’ve moved guest services right next to the checkout lanes-good luck. I worked there for 5 weeks as a guest service rep earlier this year and we were told if ANYONE came up with a purchase that we HAD to check them out. Many people got upset because they had a legitimate reason to be therein that line and had to wait for people just purchasing items.
I hold the item I’m price matching out of checkout and ten go to guest svc with it they can price match it immediately instead of giving you money back after the purchase.
Or hopefully lines made just for this, like returns after Christmas?
Will this include daily deals?
What if you don’t have a smartphone? Can you bring in a printout of the price match?
Walmart won’t even price match walmart.com prices. Go Target!
I also wonder if it will be good on Black Friday, or even one or two day sales. I’m guessing there will be a lot of exceptions.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been having REAL issues with Target. I keep a data base of my coupons. When I use a good many coupons in one trip, they always short me. It looks like it’s ringing up on the register, but doesn’t show on the receipt. This happens all the time. I end up having to call, then go the customer service to straighten it out. Just wondering why their machines are doing that??? Thank goodness I keep track of them! And I’m starting to wonder how many customers they are shorting coupons?!
I’ve seen this and added it up later. The coupon does come out of the total. Don’t know why it doesn’t show on receipt.
Yeah, I’ve noticed this as well: it doesn’t show up at all on the receipt, but if you add up your total, it’s somehow in there.
I have had the same problems…their system accepts the coupons but they do not show up on the receipt. I was told it is because the coupon may be worth more than the product…but that isn’t always the case. Seriously watch your coupons closely at Target!
this has happened to me too. sometimes i get so happy i have all these coupons i get overwhelmed and i forget some or the mobile ones and if i do give them all to them my calculations never come out right but i thinks its because they tax you on the original price not the reduced price but we need to keep our EYES on the register
Target in Northern California sucks rocks when it comes to couponers. They recently started giving couponers a hard time. Having a manager come up front whenever they see someone with a coupon packet or book. If they don’t want our business then they should stop promoting their coupons and they recently changed their coupon policy too.
I’d complain to corporate. I don’t think they’d be too happy to hear about it.
It’s about time for the wifi, I can never use Shopkick in Target because I never get a cell signal in the store. It’s also hard to get the online coupons up.
Great news! 🙂
Target should always do this. It’s ridiculous that they don’t, at least, honor target.com prices all the time. I bought a patio set at a Target store last summer, then found out it was TONS cheaper on target.com. So I went into the store and asked the Customer Service desk to adjust the price. After 20 minutes of back-and-forth, they wouldn’t do it. They basically told me that if I wanted them to honor their own price, I would have to return the patio set in the store and re-order it online – terrible customer service. That patio set was super heavy and not fun to load in and out of a car 3 times. Needless to say, we returned it at the store and bought a new, better patio set at WalMart.
Anyone know if target has the wifi yet?
Target’s WiFi is up but… their in-store, at customer service sign regarding holiday price matching states (in fine print) that target.com is excluded in the price matching!!!
MY RECENT ONLINE AD MATCH EXPERIENCE — I went into a local Target store a couple nights ago and did the online price match (Target.com) for the Star Wars Advent calendar. It’s priced at $39.99 on the Target.com, but still priced at $49.99 in the Target store. Although it ended up taking longer to do at the checkout lane (they have special lanes for customer service/returns beside our regular checkout lanes), it was still worth the $10 price difference! Even though I printed out Target.com’s page with the Star Wars Advent calendar, they still told me they had to look it up themselves to make sure. So, the manager (I think) pulled out what appeared to be an iPad and looked up the item on the Target.com website. Then he gave the cashier the “go ahead” to give me the $39.99 price! A little frustrating in the end, but glad I was able to get a cheaper price on the Star Wars Advent calendar because I did NOT want to have to pay this year’s increased price of $49.99!
Just got told if it is out of stock in the store or online that i want to price match they won’t do it. Wasn’t sure if this was accurate. Doesn’t make a lot of since to me since that is typically the reason to get a walmart deal at target. i was trying to get the monopoly millionaire for the online price of $9.89. They had it in stock when I printed the ad this morning and by the time I got to target walmart was sold out. I should have just got it online. Very frustrating.
Will Target price match Ace Hardware’s ad?
