Calling all you Smartphone users! Once again, Treater.com, a Facebook app that regular offers up FREE treats for your Facebook friends, is currently offering up a new “Tricked… or Treated” game to play. First, make sure that you are logged into your Facebook account, then just head to this link and choose a door (like the pic above). After doing so, the following will be posted to your wall:

Now just have your friends click on the link to see if they get “tricked” or “treated”. If they get tricked, they will be taken to a Halloween video to view OR if they get treated, they will be offered up a freebie. Reader, Ashley, won a FREE Godiva chocolate that she was able to send to a friend. I won a FREE Donut at Dunkin’ Donuts (up to $1.25 value!) that I sent to my hubby. Yum!

Note that you’ll need to follow the directions to send your Treat. You’ll be able to add a message and a photo if you like. The Treat will post to their Facebook Wall. In addition, you can also send a text message link or email link to their smartphone (which they will receive faster). When you are done, click the green “Send It!” Button! That’s it!

To redeem the Treat, click the Treater Facebook post, text message link or email link on your smartphone. You’ll see the Treat and the message from friend, and then they’ll guide you through redemption. Note that redemption must occur on a smartphone. Show the cashier the Treat Card on your phone, they’ll type in the Treat Card number as a credit card, and voila! You’ve been treated.

(Thanks so much for the heads up on this offer, Ashley!)

Last time when they had the Starbucks deal I sent it to my husband and when we went to Starbucks I couldn’t get the link to load from my husband phone. Not worth the headache.

Had to pay .50 for a free donut. Not worth sending either.

      Hey Michelle,

After reading your comment I flew over to the WetSeal website and started browsing through the clearance section. There are some amazing deals, but just one problem. EVERY single item that I clicked to add to my cart came up as out of stock. I guess they’ve been wiped out–I’m not even exaggerating…I want to let other readers know so they don’t get disappointed when they see that literally nothing is available anymore. Thanks for the tip though.

I did the Starbucks deal a while back from treater and when I tried to get my free latte it wouldn’t go through. It was at a target Starbucks but I’m not sure that should matter. Any one else have problems?

I had a problem with mine too because my drink ended up being more money then the treat was for. Treat it like a giftcard that only has a certain amount on it… I had to have her charge me for a cheaper drink for the treater, and then charge me for the extras seperately. It was kind of a pain, but if the cashier had done what I told her from the beginning it wouldn’t have taken as long as it did… Lol

    • Amber

I had the same problem, and just paid the difference first. The treat was for $4.25, and my drink cost was $4.47, I gave the cashier a quarter, which brought the total down to accept the treater coupon.

I sent my husband a Pinkberry that was supposedly FREE ($6 value) and about 2 hrs later he sent me the same only this time it came up he had to pay $3 for the $6 yogurt by credit card. Not sure why his was FREE and mine would cost $3….

I actually used my Free Starbucks latte from treater yesterday and at first it didn’t go through but it went through after the total was under $4.50. Great deal
