That is $5 cheaper than the black friday price. No waiting in long lines for this item.

    • Jen P

Exactly what I was thinking. Great deal!

    • Candice

Where is the kindle at for $49 on black Friday?

  2. Susan

Perfect. I have a Staples credit I need to use also. Does anyone have this? Recommend?

    • Kim

Yes I have it and it is a very good basic e-reader.

  3. Kim

Yes, I have it and it is a very good basic e-reader.

  4. Heather

I was going to hunt down the Nook Simple Touch on Black Friday for $39.99 or $49.99. Can anyone tell me if they are comparible.. would this one be just as good to get?

    • Dawn

I was planning on doing the same thing. Anyone know which of the 2 is better recommended? I want to get one for my 11 year old who loves to read.

      • Livi

You’re definitely going to want the Kindle over the Nook- bigger book selections by far.

        • Heather

          Thanks Livi!!

      • Heather

My best friend just texted me and said the one she has is very the same as this one & she loves it. She said you can even hook it to an amazon account and amazon account will give you free books to use in a ‘library’ they have (best sellers, new books/old books). I’m going for this one! Hope this helps :0)

    • Nicole

Compare the two on google. They both have advantages.

  5. Samantha

So this is valid on the Kindle Fire? That’s a great deal!

  6. Nicole

They are showing the Nook Color Tablet for $99 same price as Walmart black friday plus free shipping. I wonder if the price would be the same in the store? The coupon would make for a great deal. I think I need to make a call!

    • Monique

Nicole- the coupon expires today though.

      • Nicole

Yes I saw that. I’m calling Staples to see if the prices are good in the store before I drive there to use my coupon.

  7. beth

can you browse the internet on this kindle or does it only hold books?

    • Kim

the internet browseing is very limited on this, it is mostly just for reading and to buy and download books.

    • Livi

Depends on the Kindle you get. I have a Touch and I can ‘browse’ the internet technically after logging into my password-protected modem, but if you want a Kindle that browses the internet, go with the Fire.

  8. musicalminded

yep, it’s valid on the Fire too!

  9. Nicole

I take it back the Nook Color Tablet is $119. The Nook Color is $99.00

  10. jen

was wanting a nook simple touch, but I got a better price on one last christmas, thinking I will hold out for a better deal from barnes and noble…

    • jen

Just got an email from barnes and noble the simple touch will be $59 on black friday in stores 🙂

    • Heather

The Nook simple touch is $39.99 at Sears on Black Friday & $49.99 at Target. You can price match at Wal-mart too 🙂

Was thinking of getting hubby an Ipad. Do any kindles or anything else compare to it? Please advise on all of these. I am clueless 🙁

    • Nicole

If you’re talking about the iPad mini from what I have read they were a day late and dollar short coming out with the 7inch tablet well after everyone else. I compared the screen resolution etc and the iPad mini isn’t really any better as far as the nuts and bolts of the system. If your talking Ipad 2 I don’t think these smaller tablets compare at all.

    • Shannon

I love the Kindle to read, smaller easier to handle. the Ipad is better for surfing and playing games. The Kindle is slow online. Games, books and movies are cheaper on Kindle. You can get FREE books from the library with the Kindle. It really depends on what he is using it for. I got my husband the Ipad first he loved it. Then I got a kindle and he likes that better to read books with.

      • Nicole

You can also get free books from the library on the Nook as well.

Thank you so much, we were wanting to upgrade to the kindle fire hd. I had $25 in rewards plus the $25 off and i bought a three year protection, Total $164.35 same price as the regular kindle fire. I am so glad i dont have to wait in line on black friday for this, and it was an instant savings instead of an Easy Rebate.

  13. juli

Can we print this on staples.com? I can’t get the coupon to pull up to print 🙁

  14. Mel

Nook color is $99.90 and tablet is $119.90 but these are clearance prices – both stores near me where sold out : (

  15. Jennifer

Does anyone know if Office Depot will match the coupon?

  16. Kristy

Woo-hoo! Just scored one at the local staples where another hipster was waiting to purchase. She even let me use her USB to print the coupon. Thank you both!!!

    • Beth

So cool to have met another hipster, an thanks for paying for my copy! Hope you have a Merry Christmas an enjoy your Kindle!

  17. Kathy

How many “special offers” do you get? I would like to give this to my mother for Christmas but don’t want to get this one if the offers are popping up all the time. I would get annoyed by that feature. Anyone have one of these that could let me know? Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

  18. Eric

The special offers only reside on the home screen when you turn it on each time. I don’t even notice them anymore. Worth the savings to me. I just got the basic one for $44. Great deal. Thanks, Collin.

  19. Tori

Just got the deal plus they had the kindle covers marked down from $29 to $5! So the entire gift for $50!!!

    • Liz

Awesome….no mark down cases at my store ;(

  20. Miss Liz

I just went to the store and bought one. It came to $53, After taxes and recycling fee. What a great price. Now to amazon for a cover. 🙂

  21. Jenny

Opinions Plz: Im looking for something basic for my 11 year old. Mainly for light gaming, surfing the net, & watching movies. Any suggestions would be great. This is instock at both Staples by me 🙂

  22. Dawn

Just picked up one for my soon to be 11 yr old daughter for her bday gift. She is going to be thrilled! Thanks Collin! Now I dont have to go out on Thanksgiving night to wait in line and get trampled over! 🙂

  23. Nicole

I just picked up 2 Nook 8GB tablets…the last 2 in the store for my kiddos. It came to $100.00 with tax. Walmart is $99 on Black Friday…now I don’t have to stay there for 2 hours waiting until 10pm WOOT and I saved $5.00 on each one. Thanks Colin. I also had an extremely nice cashier that let me do 2 separate transactions to use 2 coupons. It must be my lucky day. Very thankful!

    • Jenny

I did the same thing 🙂 One for my son & one for ME !! Thanks for the great deal!
