Just an FYI—They can give you a bit of trouble when trying to use them in-store, but if they don’t know how to scan them (there’s some button they have to push to use the scanner)—then have them type the number in manually and it goes through just fine.

  2. Jennifer

Also, you should be able to go through ebates for an extra 3.5% off—it doesn’t seem to say on there it doesn’t include gift cards.

    • Christina

The offer is thru cashstar.com which I didn’t see on ebates.com – did I miss it?

      • Jennifer

Go to ebates. Click on the link to CVS- then go to the bottom of the page where it says cvs giftcards. It’s sort of small writing, so you’ll have to look for it a bit.

That brings you to something like cvs.cashstar.xxxx

You’ll still get the offer for the extra $, but should (hopefully) also generate the extra 3.5%.

        Can’t hurt to try anyhow.

        • Georgina

Thank you all! It made my purchase that much easier!

    • jill

please let us all know if you get the cash back. I had already purchased mine when I read this. I’m thinking you won’t because another window opens up when I click on cvs giftcards and not the original link from ebates. But would love to know for next time if you do get it. thanks.

    • fran

      Hi Jami,
I got an ad from Omaha with my weekly circulars. Leave your email address and I’ll email you all the info.

  4. Liz

Does anyone know if you can use these on prescriptions?

    • dawn w

I have used these on prescriptions in the past. The fine print does not exclude this.

      • Liz

        Thank you!

    • Heather

It’s just like a normal in store CVS gift card – you can use it on anything instore 🙂 I’ve always purchased these deals when they come around & have had no problems using it on anything!

    • babs7881

this is what i have used these for in the past. there are no exclusions for prescriptions listed (that i could find). they are confused most of the time when i give it to them, but if they follow the directions on the gift card, it works fine.

  5. rae

ok, it’s been 10 minutes and still no ecard – was headed out the door to CVS – anyone know how long it takes to process?

    • rae

FYI! If you are a first time purchaser, there is a “verification” delay.

      • Amy M.

I have to call a 1877 number to verify, or I don’t get the card.

  9. Elizabeth

Thanks! I can always use free money at CVS!

  10. Alyssa

LOVE this deal! I use these to pay the “tax” that the ECBs don’t cover:)

  11. I love Shoes

Yes. I always do the max. An extra $30 is well worth it. It is like getting a free prescription or two.

  12. jessica

    • kari

i was wondering the same thing

    • dawn w

No, you can’t use on preloaded cards. Mine was just delivered and the fine print is quoted below.

“PROTECT THIS CARD AS YOU WOULD CASH!
This card may be used just like cash toward purchases at any CVS/pharmacy®. Cannot be used to purchase money orders or prepaid cards, or as payment on a credit account. It will not be replaced or replenished if lost, stolen or used without authorization, and it is not reloadable. This gift card has no expiration date, and no dormancy or inactivity fees will be charged. It is not redeemable for cash in New Jersey, or for cash in any other state unless the state requires cash redemption. Gift card retains unused balance. Balance cannot be transferred or recharged. So you cant use it on prepaid cards, Do gift cards such as itunes count as a prepaid card?

  14. Valerie L.

Yesssss! I have been waiting for this for so long!

  15. Colleen

Just bought the $150 one – can’t pass up getting the extra $30 and now I have my extra CVS “spending money” for a looooong time

  16. Ashley57

I bought this last year for $50 and still have about $5 of the $60 left…trying to decide if I should do it again….

  17. Jo-Ann

Thanks! Also signed up for ebates based on someone’s comments — hope the 3.5% is good for this deal.

  18. Karen

This is the first time I have done the CVS deal I have some questions. I just purchased a $100 gift card for me and $30 for a friend for Christmas, but I did not see the box that said click here if this is for yourself. Also do they just automatically sending you the bonus gift card as I saw the promotion listed on the top of the page but nothing to fill out?

Jo-Ann even if the 3.5% does not work. You will enjoy Ebates. Just make a habit of always going ther first before making an online purchase, places I never imagined are included like Priceline and Groupon.

I started using in last year in October and have recieved about $300 cash back in a year. I have to laugh at the tv commercials for ebates the women that says she got $2,500 back from them in one year…most places on average give 3% although there are good deals like BlackFriday Kohls was offering 10% and just used it today for 50% rebate on Entertainment coupon books. But still I don’t see anyone getting thousands of dollars back from them unless they are spending about a quarter of million dollars shopping online.

    • Colleen

I don’t think you have to click if it is for yourself – I just put my same name in the “TO” and “FROM” boxes. It should email you a copy of the gift certificate if you put down that the recipient email is your email.

      • Colleen

To update my response – I just got my gift cards. The $150 one I purchased got sent to me b/c I put my TO and FROM addresses as the same. Then, the $30 one arrived in a separate email to my purchaser email address. Just print them off and you’re good to go!

  19. Sandra F.

Does anyone know if you can use it on giftcards like itunes. It says it exlcudes prepaid cards…

  20. Andrea

Totally love to get the extra CVS cash, but do as they say and guard it like it is cash! I did this the last time around and 1) I did the offer too late so I did not get the extra cash and 2) My print out fell out of the envelope and by the time I got home to take my receipts out of the envelope the remaining value was already completely spent. There’s no name check, etc. Just like cash 🙂 Maybe it would be a reasonable safety precaution to buy multiple cards, that way if you lose one you haven’t lost the full value. Of course nobody plans on losing their card.

  21. Cannielle

Ask the cashier to hit the ” money card ” and then scan the barcode if u ever encounter a problem when redeeming it.

  22. Carol_R

Thanks Collin. I just ordered a $150 one for myself. That’s a 20% discount which is great and also a great way to keep tabs on your OOP costs.

  23. Dana

I have bought these in the past and no matter what store I shopt at, the cashiers always look at me like I am stealing when I try to use it. No thanks!

  24. Julia M.

I am so disappointed in this sale. I placed my order yesterday morning, and put all my correct information. I received an email informing me that they needed additional information. I called and was on hold for an half-hour. Then I chose to leave a voicemail (because I had to go to work), to which they did not call me back. I called early this morning, and a girl said they had to ask additional questions because I was a first time buyer. I answered the questions and she said everything was settled and fixed and I should receive a email verification in 15 minutes. In 15 minutes, I received an email that said they could not process my order with no explanation. I call the customer support line again and the lady said for “security purposes” she could not find out why they could not process this order. I asked if she could fix this, so I could receive my $100 giftcard and the extra $20. She said she could order a $100 giftcard but could not give me the extra $20!!! 🙁 It seems like they just ran out of the extra and cancel my order for no reason!! So sad!!! 🙁

    • Heather

      Man! That’s terrible!

      • Julia M.

I know! 🙁 Thanks for comiserating with me 🙂

  25. sway976

how many can u buy? and… since I am tired-just got off a plane- is there a math way to make a better deal than buying the 150.00 one? thank u sooo much guys!!

  26. Stephanie

Is this offer over? I ordered a $25 card earlier and did not receive a $5 one….

  27. Craig

Yeah, wondering the same. There is NO mention on this page about this promo at all.

  28. Lady Kaycee

Just called the egift card customer service and was told the promotion ended 11/29 at 5 pm.
