Rick Denton lives his life on his terms. He works hard, plays hard, and answers to no one. So when his mother calls on Thanksgiving weekend begging him to come home after his stepfather has a stroke, Rick is more than a little reluctant. He’s never liked Art and resents the man’s presence in his life, despite the fact that his own father abandoned the family when Rick was just twelve. When what was supposed to be just a couple days helping out at the family bookstore turns into weeks of cashing out old ladies and running off the homeless man who keep hanging about, Rick’s attitude sours even more.

Still, slowly but surely, the little bookstore and its quirky patrons–as well as the lovely young woman who works at his side each day–work their magic on him, revealing to Rick the truth about his family, his own life, and the true meaning of Christmas. With skillful storytelling, Dan Walsh creates a Christmas story will have readers remembering every good and perfect gift of Christmas.

I don’t own a Kindle, but plan to buy the HD Fire version – maybe next year? What is better – to send it to the computer app (don’t plan to read it on computer ever) or to send it to the Cloud for now? I don’t really know how either of them work, how can I move it LATER on a Kindle. I see Cloud has limits in the free storage limits…

I am not 100% sure how to answer some of your question, but I did want to let you know that if it is Amazon content, there is no limit to the free storage. It is when you bring in other items (like music off a CD) that is uses up your Cloud storage. I have hundreds of songs and books on my Cloud. I think your best bet would be to send it to the cloud now, since you are not planning on ever reading it on your computer.

Wow, thank you! I never realized that! I don’t have any “mobile device” yet, but I have on my Cloud a lot of free and purchased (amazon) music already and worried it would be almost full soon. No worries about that now. I am also love idea about borrowing some books for free with Amazon Prime. ๐Ÿ™‚ Now if only I would have that Kindle. LOL I really want to wait and save up for the Fire.

I have borrowed quite a few free books with Prime. I wish I could find a site or something that listed out some of the most highly rated books that are available to borrow. Many of them are self-published and honestly not very good. I have a hard time finding the plants in the weeds. I would say over the last year 3 of the books I borrowed out of six were really good.

I would concentrate on books with established reviews already – not something coming off the press with just a few reviews. And always try to “look inside” and preview if the style of writing “sits” with you. Read through the reviews… and if you find an author you like, check their other books or browse through the books offered down bellow (people who purchased this also bought this… or something like that). That is how I choose books for me and both of my daughters – we are all avid readers, just not Kindle owners. Then you will hopefully borrow less of the “duds” or “misfits”.

As of the LIST of Kindle Prime Eligible borrowing titles, amazon actually has that – just like there is a list for prime eligible instant stream free movies/tv episodes. This should lead you to the kindle prime book list: https://tinyurl.com/77mzxou – just weed through it – let’s say choose only 4 stars and above rated books, then only English, only Literature & Fiction… whatever your heart desires.

Anything you buy from Amazon doesn’t count toward the storage limits.

Thanks! I can read this on my computer or iphone easily. I love FREE. Great way to try a new book. If I like it then I tell my family and friends about it. If I don’t, then no big deal. No money wasted and I can delete it.
