I have this camera and I love it! I bought mine when my daughter was a few weeks old and she is now 3 1/2 and it still takes AMAZING photos!

  2. Erin

I have this camera, it takes great photos once you learn the ins and outs of it read your manual and buy rechargeable batteries.

    Your Total:$99.99

    Didn’t get the $69.99 deal?

    • deb

Michelle, it is $99 and you get a $30 gift card for free with makes it seem like $69. It is a great deal. So you pay $99 and you get $30 to spend on your next target purchase.

      • Sheree

no it takes it off the $129 price because I just tried to order it thinking it would be $69 and at checkout it states $129 minus $30 gift card which make sit $99 very misrepresenting the gift card info so I did not buy it!Still a deal but not when you think it will be $69

    • Destinee

Looks right to me…u got the $30 gift card. So $69.99 including the gift card.

      • michelle

No, when I went to the product page it shows that the camera is $99 then when I added it to my cart the item total was suddenly $129 minus the $30 gift card which is stated to automatically be deducted from the item total… hence the $99 total that I got. It looks like it is a ‘glitch’. My total before tax is $99 ??? not $69

        • deb

You still have to pay $99 (plus tax) out of pocket for it. You will get the camera and a $30 gift card in the mail.

          • michelle

“$30 gift card with Canon SX150 purchase
Receive a $30 gift card with purchase of a Canon SX150 14.1MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Zoom…..On your order summary, the item subtotal will reflect the price of the qualifying item plus the amount of the free gift card, followed by a discount given for the amount of the free gift card. Your price on the order summary will be the price of the qualifying item (the total charges for the qualifying item and gift card). Your account will actually be charged the amount of the qualifying item reduced by the amount of the gift card, and a separate charge for the amount of the gift card. If you return the qualifying item, keep the gift card; gift cards received with purchase are not returnable. Gift card will be sent to the same address as your order and will ship separately. Offer expires 2/16/2013 at 11:59pm ET.”
            ??????????????

I just went an purchased this, my cart shows $129.99, (the price of the camera 99.99, and the $30 gift card.) Then it shows a $30 deduction, final price upon checkout with my red card was $94.99. And I will be receiving a $30 gift card back. So, 64.99 was my final price since I’m receiving a gift card as well….I also went through ebates and will get 2% back too.

            • Yoko

Target first charges you $30 for $30 gift card for free GC with purchase deals, then discount $30 for in case of return.

  4. deb

Thanks! I used shopathome for an 4% cashback and I used my Target credit card for 5% and free shipping. Great deal!

    • deb

I actually bought two of them, and I did get two gift cards. So, there isn’t a limit of one. I was surprised!

  5. Heather

Just throwing this out there, I actually have this camera and if you are looking for a small, easy to handle point & shoot this is NOT what you want. This thing is a BRICK. It’s huge, bulky and my shutter broke within 6 months of me owning it.

  6. michelle

No, when you go to the product page it shows that the camera is $99 then when I added it to my cart the item total was suddenly $129 minus the $30 gift card which is stated to automatically be deducted from the item total… hence the $99 total that I got. It looks like it is a ‘glitch’.

    • Jodi

I see what you mean. However, you’re still getting the camera for $99, and then a $30 gift card. IF you go through ebates, you’ll get 4% back on the 99, and with a target red card, you’ll get 5% back on the 99. Makes the deal even better.

    • Kristy

There is no glitch. Your total should be $99 – you get the camera and a $30 gift card for $99.

  7. Mesh

I thought the same with the 129.99. However when you add it to the cart and look below, it says ” Cart summary subtotal $129.99″ and then below it it says your total $99.99.

This is a pretty sweet deal for this camera.

  8. Jessica

I have this camera! It is the BEST!

    • Nikki

Does this camera take good action pictures? Looking to capture those moments when my child is playing a sport.

      • Krista

I have this camera and I would say no, especially not in lower light that would require flash. I keep saying I need a slower kid or a faster camera. Zoom is amazing and I love AA batteries. I use rechargeables, but this is not, in my experiece a great action shot camera. I would love a recommendation for one!

        • heather

Nikon D5000. I have one and id never trade it! It is a bigger camera which I hate, but the professional style photos are worth it. I’m getting prepared for a 45 day europe trip with my little ones and am looking for a smaller camera to fit in a small purse for misc. Photos. Is this recommended??

  9. Annie A.

Most of the reviews aren’t so great.

  10. Emilytwinmom

I have this camera, and it’s a great little camera – but it doesn’t focus all the time, and it’s really hard to “learn”. My mother can’t work it to save her life – so, don’t buy this if you’re trying to capture perfectly focused images of your little ones or garden butterflies. It’s just a snap and go camera!

  11. Tonya H.

I have this camera and LOVE it!

  12. shanshan

My first powershot broke because the zoom lens would not retract back, that’s after many drops plus my kids pushing in the lens with force (ugh!). Now I’m on my 2nd powershot and I can tell the lens is starting to make a little noise when extending/retracting (due to frequent use and debris from my bag I guess). These two powershot combined lasted me more than 9 years and still going. So I definitely will buy this new Canon, and the kids can play with the older ones.

  13. Janet

I really want to buy it but I have combed through the reviews for that model on a few sites and the battery life is less then 2hrs according to a lot of people. Also I am scared of the horrible lag time people are reporting, lots of time to power up and huge wait in between shots. Do any of you who have the camera have thoughts on this?

    • shanshan

I know what you’re saying… took me a good hour to make the decision to buy. When kids were little you want to have a slim and fast camera in your pocket, ready for action at all time. Now they’re older I’d rather go for quality of shot and powerful zoom… after all the price is amazing! I’ve been using rechargeable batteries for years so no problem to carry some spares with me.

    • Kris

I don’t leave it on for a long time, and my batteries haven’t let me down. I use a rechargeable battery, and I like that I can toss regular AAs in my bag as a backup. Heather above commented that the camera is a “brick” and I can’t argue with that. It is pretty big. Not DSLR big, or anything, but much bigger than alot of point and shoots. So portability can be a pain. Cons: it is big and hard to get action shots. Pros: I actually wanted a AA battery camera, this thing zooms like crazy, and it takes lovely pictures, especially outside and still object. Inside or moving ojects make me wish my Kodak had not broken!

  14. Idi

I bought mine back in sept. Yes theres a lag time between pictures when using the flash and the battery life is short. If I had to do it again I wouldn’t buy it again 🙁

    • Kris

Idi, I kind of agree… BUT I paid alot more for it, and if I had gotten it for $70 I think I would get it again. I think there is a reason it has gotten so cheap!

  15. Ashley

Anyone else having problems getting free shipping? It is telling me that shipping is $3…. Is that right?

  16. Jan

I also have the same camera. I had my trusty small canon powershot and decided to give this camera a try. This camera is bulky, it does lag in between shots. It takes a while for the flash to go off in low light. I will stick with my 6 yr old, canon powershot in my toddler bag 🙂

  17. T.Wood

Thanks for all the input. I was given an IOU for a camera as a Christmas gift. I have been looking and I have yet to find one. This one looks appealing but, I think I will wait for something with a little less bulk. I love this forum and this website!!! 🙂

  18. Kimberly

Thought about doing this today till i went into target today.. I found a samsung digitalcamera on clearance. Cheaper than this, and smaller. Glad i went to target first!

  19. Steph

Did anyone else only get charged $78.10? The total when I checked out was $108.10 which included the $30 discount. I just looked at my credit card activity and the amount I was charged was only $78.10…even though looking over my order again it shows I should have gotten charged $108.10. My package is supposed to arrive today so I’m not sure whether I got the gift card or not but if I get a $30 gift card on top of that this was a pretty sweet deal!!!
