Wow! Check out the email I received from Hip2Save reader, Laura…

Just thought I would let you know I got a letter from best buy today with a $50 savings code inside….we are Best Buy credit card holders. It’s valid on almost anything in-store! It looks like a junk mail envelope, so thought others might like to know so they don’t throw it out!

Did you also find one of these in your mailbox today?!

And, if you’re a Best Buy Reward Zone program member (it’s free to sign up!), you can also frequently score Reward Zone points on the Best Buy Reward Zone Facebook App by signing in or registering for an account! Then click on the “User Poll” tab and scroll down to take the Poll.Lately, they have been worth 10 points each. You can also earn additional points by doing the many different activities they have available in the Facebook App (creating spaces, voting, taking polls etc). And keep in mind that you only need 250 points to score a $5 Rewards Certificate!

Also, as I mentioned previously, you can still score Die Hard Blu-ray discs for just $9.99 (reg $16.99) at Best buy. Even better, watch for some with a sticker good for $10 Hollywood Movie Money to see the new “A Good Day to Die Hard” movie. If you have a $5 Rewards Certificate and use it to purchase the Blu-ray, you are essentially paying just $5 for a Blu-ray and a ticket to the theater! Awesome! See my post here for more details.

I wish!! But nope! I never get the bonus offers from anywhere – not even the 5 pt bonus codes in Disney Movie Rewards emails.

Dear Hip2Save fan:) Who received BB code by mail,

We would appreciate if (after u use it of course), could share the code so maybe more people would be able to brighten their busy days? 🙂

I think those coupons are a 1-time use code.

  3. dawn

I wish! No. just the $5 off.

Isn’t this a certificate that Best Buy gives you for certain amount of money spent?
Because it says “congratulations you did it on the envelope”.
It sounds to me like “congratulations you spent the given amount and here is your code”. Or maybe I am wrong.

The letter inside reads. Congratulations. You received this savings code as part of the holiday bonus offer that came with your new best buy credit card. Use the $50 savings code below before it expires on 4/21/2013. Thanks for being such a loyal and valued customer.
We used our credit card to buy some items around Christmas but can’t recall any special offers that we used with it.

      • Sandy

        Good for you!

Thanks for the info. I don’t have a BB credit card so I am not expecting anything in the mail but I was curious what type of reward this was. Congrats for getting it!

Nice! The post reminded me to check my account and update my address. Just in case they ever want to send me some free money :))
Has anyone gotten their missing points back? I was told I will get them back in 2 weeks and this was like a month ago.

    • Emily

No, I haven’t gotten the points back that shouldn’t have expired. They took 249 points (One away! So mad!) and 96 of them weren’t earned in the previous year and should be coming back. I sent another e-mail today asking about them again.

      • Amy

I called again after the 2 weeks saying I was told 2 weeks and they have not been credited back. And the guy was very nice and gave me 300 points instead of the 85 they took away! 😀

  6. Torri

They put 100 of the 231 points originally deducted a few week ago, but it’s not too late to contact them. I emailed them last night about the other missing points and they gave back the points plus an additional 124 points and even emailed me a $10 certificate as an apology. Definitely worth contacting them.

    • Katie

I emailed them and they told me there was no way to get my points back.

      • Torri

wow. you should totally email them again and ask. that’s crazy.

  7. Destinee

    I totally got it…and threw it away…GRRRRRR!!!

    • Anita Myers

      Destinee….call them…maybe they can resend.

  8. Sarah

I’m a BB credit card holder for and been reward zone silver for 3 years but I never ever get any type of coupons, codes or deals in the mail or through email or anything.

  9. Anita Myers

I just got 167 points put back on my account that was taken away…one time courtesy.

  10. Sandy

I just closed my credit card. Oh well, maybe I’ll still get one. Fingers crossed!

Note that the Die Hard movies are actually the combo versions: DVD AND Blu-ray. So NOT just the Blu-ray versions. So for those with DVD players, like me, it’s usable, and you can give the Blu-ray version to someone else. Or, keep it until you eventually upgrade. Or, for Blu-ray player owners, you can use the DVD version on your Blu-ray player, still, and give the Blu-ray copy to another family member with a Blu-ray player. Confusing enough? The point is, it’s a good deal all around, since you get the investment back with the movie ticket vouchers. But hurry, as this movie is already starting to leave theaters.

Not to sound snarky, but this sounds like a VERY targeted offer. The person receiving the reward was a best buy credit card holder who bought enough to satisfy the requirements of a holiday bonus reward. Many companies offer such rewards, and because they’re targeted with certain requirements, it’s safe to say that many/most of us won’t receive such a reward. I’m guessing this person didn’t realize she satisfied the reward requirements so getting the reward was surprising.
