Are you ready for this *HOT* freebie?! Make sure to sit down and brace yourself… especially if you are a Starbucks addict! 😀 Through March 31st (Yep, all the way through the end of March!), in honor of the new Starbucks Hazelnut Macchiato, participating Starbucks locations across the country are offering up FREE tall Hazelnut or Caramel Macchiato beverages! Yum!

To get in on this oh so delicious freebie, head to your nearest Starbucks location (or call ahead before wasting gas and time to verify) and ask the barista about this promo to possibly receive a coupon offer (like the one pictured above) valid for a FREE Hazelnut or Caramel Macchiato. Note that some Starbucks locations may actually require you to make a purchase in order to snag this freebie. However, my hubby headed to our local Starbucks in Boise, Idaho and just asked the Barista about this promo and she gave him the beverage for FREE – no purchase required! 🙂

If your local Starbucks does require you to make a purchase, you could snag this $1 reusable cup and then receive your FREE Macchiato! Check out the details about this cup below:

In efforts to reduce cup waste and encourage more people to bring in their own reusable cups, you may be excited to know that Starbucks has introduced the reusable (and recyclable) Starbucks cup for hot beverages at Starbucks stores nationwide. Even sweeter, this cup is priced at only $1 AND you’ll receive a 10 cent discount each time you use it in stores… so it pays for itself in just ten uses! What a great & easy way to reduce waste – and you can’t beat the price! :)

GREAT! I bought several of the reusable cups for my fam. We love using them.

  2. emilee

I live near Fort Bragg, NC and I called the Starbucks located at the Cross Creek Mall and they said they weren’t participating:( Glad you got to get a free one though! It’s sounds delicious!

  3. Erin

Nice! I can’t find a mention of a free drink in your link but I will ask at my local store when I shop Safeway today. Does anyone know if they make these drinks in decaf (as I am pregnant)?

    • Anonymous

Starbucks can pretty much make anything into decaf! Saved me during my pregnancy!

      • Erin

Thank you. I thought so but I seem to remember not being able to order decaf and sugar free on a drink (maybe a frap?). While pregnant I figure sugar is probably better than artificial sweeteners for an occasional treat. 🙂

        • Anonymous

Frapps usually come in a mix, now that I think about it. That’s prob why they couldn’t do decaf. But now I remember they would make the hot (decaf) version for me and blend it up. 🙂

          • Kristie

I drank decaf my whole first pregnancy and everything was fine. There is chemicals in everything. I eat tons of organic foods but I will stick with decaf for this pregnancy as well.

    • An

I don’t advise you on drinking decaf. I read somewhere how they remove the caffeine with chemicals and I stopped drinking decaf from this point on.

      • Stacy

That’s what I read also about decaf. Told when I was pregnant that having a tall latte was the best option.

        • Betsy

Through four pregnancies I have had caffeine and all was fine. The only thing you HAVE to avoid is alcohol.

          • Erin

I do have caffeine on occasion (but I limit it to one cup of coffee). This is my third pregnancy and I had similar amounts of caffeine with no adverse effects on me or the babies. But, in this instance I already had my cup so I thought I would go decaf so as not to push it. 🙂 In many cultures coffee and tea drinking is common throughout the day, even for pregnant women. I choose to avoid it as much as possible in the first trimester, but feel it is not as detrimental as some may believe it to be (my sister-in-law was shocked when she saw me drink a cup of caffeinated tea while pregnant). Just my take, I respect every woman who makes choices to restrict anything risky to protect their baby.

            • Ashley

“I respect every woman who makes choices to restrict anything risky to protect their baby.” —well said, Erin. That’s all 🙂

      • Mommy of 3

I have also read the same thing that decaf is actually worse for your health because they have to remove the caffeine by using chemicals. The chemicals get into the coffee and do far more damage to your body than the caffiene does. I believe if it’s bad for me, then it’s bad for my baby that is growing inside me.

    • Haley Kusumoto

      Hello,

Yes. All drinks at starbucks can be made Decaf 🙂

  4. rn30032

    are the cups still available

    • charlin

      yes, got one today!

  5. Rachel

No purchase necessary here! Really excited about this deal. Just ask for a flyer or use barista code 350

    • pharmchick

Thanks for the code! My starbucks didnt have and coupons but the barista said if she can get a code she would use it. So i gave it to her and i got a free drink while strolling the mall!

Also, i got the hazelnut one, which was good but not amazing, it tasted like regular hazelnut coffee. Maybe i shouldve gotten the caramel instead lol.

  6. S.B.

Just called 2 stores & they had a limited number of vouchers that they handed out this morning to customers. I guess the vouchers are good until 3/31 but as far as locating one it my require lots of phone calls, because I doubt anyone as any left!

  7. Jennifer

What is everyone’s opinions on these 2 flavors? Just out of curiosity, from someone who can’t drink coffee black yet, what do you add to your Starbucks coffee? At home, I brew a medium/bold k-cup and add a large amount of French Vanilla creamer.

  8. michellini

I went to Starbucks and everyone was ordering Hazelnut but they were charging. I asked if they had the promo, he gave me a coupon and said it starts tomorrow the 5th. I said thats today, so he said OH, gave it to me for free, but you have to mention the promo!! SWEET Thanks!!

  9. Salsam7

Yes, I found success at my location in HEB, TX. I was told that they didn’t have coupons to give out but where still honoring even without a coupon. I told them not to remember me because I would be there everyday. LOL! They laughed at that and said ok we don’t remember you. So excited! I also called another location and they said they will hand out the coupons, no purchase needed.

  10. Daisy

Does anyone know if the Starbucks inside target are participating?

    • Tonya

I just got one from the Starbucks inside of Target in Woodridge, IL. They didnt have any flyers and the barista wasnt aware of it but it was on her register screen about promotions. She was really cool about it and it was delicious!

  11. Susie

Made a purchase at Starbucks today, saw the coupon behind the counter but didn’t know what it was. They didn’t give me one.

  12. amy

Called my Starbucks in CT and they are participating. Just have to mention it. She didn’t say anything about a coupon. 🙂

    • jimena

      great! thanks amy!

  13. erinlinthicum

Got mine today, and it was REALLY good!

  14. Amanda

I was told it was only free w/ the flyer. (Toledo, OH)

  15. Betsy

Just a warning that the re-usable cup isn’t always eco-friendly. A co-worker has one and every time he went into Starbucks (different locations) the put his re-usable cup INSIDE a paper cup so they had something to write his order on. Not so eco-friendly!

So, my co-worker just wrote his order (he always get the same thing) on the side of the cup in sharpie marker so now it’s really an eco-friendly cup.

    Just be aware.

    • Lindsay

      What a great idea!

  16. Audrey

    Had one today! Yum!

  17. Shelby

Hi Collin, Of course your husband got the drink for free with no coupons. That’s because he’s HOT! I would have given him two for free! LOL.

  18. hillary

Just to clarify, the only place to get the coupon is at a Starbucks? Thanks!

  19. Erin

Starbucks in Safeway (Nor Cal) were not participating unless you buy ground coffee. I would love to hear if anyone had success at Target as I have to go there soon. 🙂

    • Sara

I live in Sacramento and was planning in going to Target tomorrow. Ill let you know if they honor it at the Starbucks there.

  20. Gwen Cake

thank u – i went tonight and mentioned the promo. and got a coupon to use next visit they said. YUM!

  21. Irene C

Thank you, just went and showed hip2save blog to the cashier and got 2 free drinks!

  22. Heather

I did not receive mine for free at the window because the cashier needed a barcode 🙁 so I paid for my drink!

  23. Michelle @ Thrifty 101

I went today and my local store (AF, UT) had never heard about this deal. 🙁

  24. Ashley

    Got the free drink! Thanks!!

  25. Amy V.

My store wasn’t participating, but they gave it to me anyway!

  26. Angie

I am in OC CA got a free drink today 😉

  27. Mar

I got one free yesterday without a coupon as a matter of fact the Manager showed the cashier were they were at. Today I went and the other manager refused to give me and boy was he rude!

  28. Johanna

Got the free drink today out here in the OC in CA! However, the cashier mentioned that she needed a coupon with a barcode on it and that the coupons were mailed out. She had no coupons behind the counter either. But she gave the drink to me for free anyway. 🙂

  29. Judy

Got a free Hazelnut Macchiato from the Starbucks in Target in Duluth, MN. It is delicious! Thanks.

  30. Christina

I asked about this promo at Starbucks today, but they said they weren’t handing out the coupons until the 11th. Seems strange to me since it started on the 5th. 🙁

  31. CO Mama

Tried to get one in South Denver today & the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. I explained it & showed her H2S post with corporate poster & then she said oh, we are giving out those coupons sometime next week. Strange, you’d think Starbucks would make this rollout more consistent!

  32. Dana

I went to one Starbucks and they gave me a coupon. Went to another Starbucks and asked them. Two employees looked at each other and then started mumbling stuff about the mail or emails or something. I think I saw the coupons on the cash register, but I’m not 100% sure. Anyways, it seemed like they were lying to me. It was just strange and I don’t know why they would lie about it.

  33. meenadisc

Went to one in Cahaba Heights in Birmingham, AL. Cashier didn’t know anything about it, but manager said they will only honor it with a coupon. Bummer 🙁

  34. hyun s kim

i always use the reusable starbucks cup. cause our land is dying. we have to know that this land is not ours. we are leasing this land.

  35. Vandelay

You can also get this coupon on passbook at bargainez.

  36. laura

You can print this coupon at coupons.com and click on the coupon codes tab at the top.

    • Jennifer

      Awesome! Thank You!

  37. Natsume

Went in today and they say it was bogus!
my sb says they need a barcode not a code!

  38. Victoria

I asked about it at a Target Starbucks, and the barista acted like it was for one day only and it had already passed.

  39. Emma

Didn’t work because they required barcode or original voucher . They called my coupon a counterfeit

  40. Jess

Baristas are not allowed to accept this any more. No point in trying. Your coupon has to have a scanable bar code and not the ring code

  41. Dick Dunner

Are you people mentally challenged? The coupon clearly states “not valid if reproduced”. Printing a scanned image of the original coupon off the internet is creating a reproduction. If you can’t comprehend the fine print on a coffee shop coupon then I would hate to see how you manage buying car insurance, or any other such complex matter.
