Just wondering what’s the difference between copy paper and the multi-purpose paper. Anyone know? TIA

    • CarolW

The multi-purpose paper in the blue packaging is a higher end paper than the copy paper. The weights are the same and really they look and perform the same (we have and use both in our shop). But if you are a real paper snob and put them side by side you will see that the multi-purpose is slightly brighter and crisper.

We order the paper in the red boxes that are pictured above at work and put it in all of our printers and copiers. We have about every style printer you could think of (including laser and ink jet) and it all works on this paper. I’m not sure what the difference is, I’m guessing that it is the same thing, wrapped in a different package.

I know this has been answered many times but I don’t remember the answer (sorry). Are we able to use rewards or rebates to purchase this? Thanks in advance 🙂

    • Jan

Rewards are considered coupons. Rewards are calculated on the purchase price after coupons are accounted for, so you can’t roll them.

      • Jamie

That is so dumb that rewards are considered coupons. Since you had to pay for them in the first place. Thanks for answering the question.

    • Jamie

Thanks for asking this question, I had the same thought.

I have a question about a different staples rewards item, I want to know if I can use $1/1 coupon for the Duracell batteries, pay $12.99 and still get the $13.99 back? Not sure how it works

  5. Rondalyn

You will get back the amount you paid after coupons. You can pay for reward items with rebate money but you can’t buy reward items with rewards and still get the 100% reward back. You will get the amount back that you paid after rewards. If you pay nothing, you get nothing.

    • saffa

Thanks for your reply, makes sense 🙂 i’m just not familiar enough with the program. It’s still cool b/c it’ll be less oop for me

  6. Summer

I don’t really shop at Staples, so am a little confused on the Rewards/Rebate thing. Are rewards like in-store credit or do you actually receive a rebate check?

    • Tarri

They are instore credit. Rewards do not roll, so if you use rewards on an item that gets rewards you only get a reward amount on what you paid after rewards. So if the reward is for $20 and you used a $10 reward and $10 cash to pay for that purchase, you only get a $10 reward back. Rebates- you can get back in a check/paypal or whatever form they are offering at the time. You just have to make sure you select according to what you want.

  7. Carolyn

Please help me remember… Staples doesn’t roll Rewards, right? But if I pay for some of my purchase with rewards, will I get the right amout back later in new Rewards? (Like if I pay $10 in rewards and $10.01 in cash, will I get $10.01 in rewards?)

    • Tarri

If the reward is 20.00 and you paid 10 in rewards and 10 in cash on that purchase, you will only get a 10 reward back. Rewards don’t roll 🙁

      • Carolyn

        Okay that’s cool, thanks!

  8. Lydia

My coupon printed without a barcode…. will they accept this?

  9. Shirley

I think the better deal is using the rebates as you not out of pocket (ie you get reimbursed! 🙂

    • Tarri

Only time I did not get a full rebate back is when the rebate said up to $$. Those you don’t want to use any kind of coupon with.

  10. Betsy

+ 5% back using your Staples rewards card!

  11. Holly @redberrydeals.com

Ok, so I have a little over $10 of rewards. Even though I know I can’t roll them over. Thinking about out of pocket expense. It would make sense to use them on this deal? Correct? Rather than spending actual money?

  12. Heather

Honestly I am afraid to do another Staples paper deal, after the fiasco a while back, when the paper was supposed to be free after the coupon and easy rebate. I contacted Customer Service, they had me scan my receipt which clearly showed the coupon scanned and e-mail it to them, and they got back to me that no such coupon ever existed. Yeah, like I made it up. So kind of wary of more Staples paper deals…

  13. danisrantsandravesdanielle

can you buy things will rewards that are on the easy rebate and get the rebate?

  14. Lydia

You can buy rebate items with rewards, and you will get the rebate.
