You have to do this a couple of days ahead of time. You put a dry spaghetti noodle in the tooth paste tube. Within a couple of days the noodle is expands (liked a cooked noodle) and will come out in the middle of the tooth paste. I loved doing this to my parents year round when I was young!

Two summers ago I picked up an old Parade of Homes sign and saved it til April Fools, then placed it in a friends yard with balloons.

      That is awesome.

I love pulling pranks on my daughter, we both love April Fools Day. Last year I froze a bowl of cereal the night before with the spoon in it so its stuck. Her expression was pretty funny (she was only 6). I am so screwed when she gets bigger, payback is going to be rough! I also like glueing quarters to the porch, everyone falls for that one AND it lasts a while. Place confetti in small paper cups and teeter them on top of bedroom doors and close the door most of the way. That one is fun and harmless. I read somewhere to bungee cord doors and shut them so when the person goes to open it the door flies open. Didnt work for me though when I tried it. You could make it even better by putting empty cans behind the door so there is a loud crash! Man, I love pranks!!!!

Here’s a great prank I heard of last year … on April 2nd. I am going to try this on my daughter who goes on the computer a little too much, lol. It’s an easy (and harmless) way to turn your monitor’s screen upside down. πŸ™‚

My mom and I went out for fastfood burgers and when she went to get napkins, I took a huge bite out of her burger and then rewrapped it. She opened it and I told her one of the cooks must have done it. She was so mad and getting ready to chew out the cashier when I caught her. I was laughing so hard and she almost yelled at an innocent clerk.

I was making a bunch of water balloons for the kids to play with outside. My dad is out there watching, and I walk up and throw an air-filled balloon right in his face. He was frantically jumping out of the way and it just floated harmlessly to the ground.

We love “food gags” in my house! We cut apple into long sticks and serve it with a tiny cup of strawberry jam (looks just like ketchup and fries)… also Ramen noodles made a great food gag- prepare them but pour out most of the broth. Pour the remaining broth and noodles into a glass bowl and just let it sit and soak for about an hour. Flip the glass bowl and the noodles will slide out looking JUST like a brain! Crazy and great for Halloween, too! I told my 11 year old we were having brain for dinner and it looked so real, she believed it! It’s a HILARIOUS gag to play on your kids’ friends… “Brain and fries for dinner, guys!” Google April fools food and lots of other ideas will come up! Good luck!

i remember one year my parents woke my sister up not long after she had gone to bed and told her it was time to get ready for school. they had to go in and tell her to get up several times before she finally got up and when she came out of her room my dad was standing there with the video camera and they both said april fools. πŸ˜€ She was happy to go back to bed πŸ˜€

Autumn, my mom used to do that when it wasn’t April Fools. She’d act all panicked saying I was late for school so I’d jump up and get dressed in a hurry only to find out half the time I wasn’t late I was actually super early. Bleh

I love April fool’s Day too! A few years ago I put my husband’s Corvette on Craigslist for an hour. I made up an ad and used a photo where he was proudly standing next to the car. I smudged out his face:) I had a car dealer friend email him the ad and say ” why didn’t you come to me if you wanted to sell your car?” He did get a few inquiries on the car. He saw the ad and knew instantly who the culprit was.
At work, I took 2- 8×11 sheets of paper and laid them in an overhead cabinet then I layered a bunch of shreddings from our industrial shredder on them. I then carefully taped the edge of the paper to the cabinet door so when you opened the door the confetti went all over. Got my boss with that one.

Make your family a big pan of Brown-E’s(Brownies) on April Fool’s Day! Just cut out big letter “E’s” out of brown construction paper and put them in the pan and cover with foil! Then when they all are excited for dessert….they will only get Brown-E’s! (You could also have a real pan of brownies ready!)LOL! I am going to do this, this year! I have never tried it just saw it on someone’s facebook page!

We are hoping to find out the gender of our little one on April fools day! Can you imagine how much fun this will be!???!

  14. Mr. Wager

I am a teacher and April fools is the first day back after spring break. I plan to bring in a disposable tray covered with foil and tell the students that I missed them so I made them brownies. I will hand the try to a student and they will open it to find a bunch of brown “E” ‘s.

Don’t know if this one was posted, but one year my dad wanted a discount on his summer golf membership. So we wrote down the phone number to the local Zoo and told him to call and ask for Harry Lyon (say it out loud). The lady picks up the phone and says “Dakota Zoo” and my dad all excited about a possible discount says “Yeah, I need to speak to a Harry Lyon.” She says..”Sir, Dakota ZOO.” He says..”Yeah, Yeah I need Harry Lyon”..and a light bulb goes off…he goes, oh no and the lady at the zoo says..April Fools. My mom was laughing so hard she had to leave the room. Best one yet!

    • Amanda

      That is hilarious!

I hate April Fools. I end up working it every year (I have no idea how it happens) in the ER and no one believes anything anyone says because they don’t want to be tricked and the ER is always packed with people being harmed by “harmless” pranks. Just call me Dr. Scrooge.

My young son and my husband wear similar looking underwear. One time I switched out my husband’s for my son’s. It was great in the morning as he was getting ready for work. A couple days later we did it to my son, who was in on the first prank, and he loved it all again! Could do it at the same time for a fun trick.
