Silly question here but I have to ask. I almost bought some coconut oil the other day but the shelf had two different kinds. Trying to recall but one was organic I think and the other was virgin coconut oil or something like that. Which one do you buy and use? It tripped me up and no one was around to ask so I left without buying it. I’d love to know if there is a taste difference. I just want to use it for cooking veggies for healthy eating. Any tips would be helpful, thanks!
‘Unrefined’ coconut oil tastes like coconut. ‘Refined’ coconut oil has basically no coconut flavor. Both can be organic or non-organic. I expect ‘virgin’ would be considered unrefined. I use the unrefined for baking (replaces butter or shortening) and refined for anything I do not want an extra coconut flavor. Hope that helps. 🙂
i am wondering about the homemade popcorn,i have kernels at home and the coconut oil.but we have a popcorn maker thing, that you put it in the machine and it pops out the popcorn, what would i have to do with the coconut oil to try this recipe, since im not using a pan
Tracy, you would need to use a pot (you are popping the kernels in the oil). This won’t work with a hot air popper.
I just melt the coconut oil in the microwave and drizzle it over the air popped popcorn then sprinkle with sea salt. Yummy.
wow! that price keeps going up it use to be $5.99 now is $6.42. I hate u Walmart! lol
Dang, another bricks coupon, I wish I could print them but I can’t even pull up the page, I get the message ‘Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage’, what a bummer! I love coconut oil!!!
Printed twice for me. Thank you… I use this on my face and neck every night.
This is the best! It’s what I use. Unrefined of course.
Its delicious I just bought some. Its used for a lot of good things. I just put it in refrigerator and eat some pieces per day. Since, I just turn 45 just put myself on vitamins and coconut oil.
