Happy Friday: “Hape” to Help
Sent from reader, Lisa:
When I saw this, I immediately thought of all my friends at Hip2Save and I had to share it with you.
When I came home from work today, I found a note my 8-year-old son left me on the counter. It reads “I finish the coupons. I am happy I can help. Austin” On top of the note, he placed all the coupons he cut out that I had printed the day before. I have never asked him to cut the coupons for me because I never thought he was aware of all my couponing (he has disabilities). It just melted my heart he was “hape to help”, and of course it is for something I just love to do….Couponing!!!
Thank you for letting me share this with you! I thought this was the sweetest thing ever.
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

My eyes immediately got watery! Sweet little angel =)
Aw, love!!!! That is precious!!!!
God bless your precious son, my daughter has disability too, and lots of behavioral problems in school, today for the first time I got surprised by a message from her teacher that she had a good week, was in her best behavior, kind and caring and lots of compliments, I also got a note from the staff in the bus that she had a great week,I think you can never expect what will happen next with these special kids, just don’t give up or lose hope.
XOXO to you. My daughter has Down syndrome, sensory processing disorder, MTHFR mutation, and many other health issues to boot plus behavior. I understand how you feel 100%!!!!
I have MTHFR and im slowly learning more and more about it. I found out I had it when I lost my 1st baby at 38 weeks. I delivered my 2nd child @ 37 weeks withaher heart barely beating. I was told to think really hard about having more children. So now I’m a Special Ed teacher and I love everyday of it! I love hearing stories like these because it just goes to prove that everyone can accomplish what others think is impossible! 🙂
That’s so hard — I’m so incredibly sorry!
Awwwww how sweet….my eyes just filled with tears. You must be a proud mama!!!!
Awww that’s so sweet. It’s not easy to being a mom but this is why so happy to be a mom. Thank you for sharing.Your story melted my heart too 🙂

As a parent with an autistic son, I just want to say that is so awesome! Even though my son can not express his feelings well he is a lot more aware of what is going on around him than I think.

So, so sweet! I’m glad this was shared.
This is so sweet and wonderful of him! I hope you guys have a blessed weekend. I love when my son, who is also 8, finds coupons in the store and has to get some for me! They are Mommy’s hot deals!
That was awesome, I can’t even get my spoiled kids to cut out the coupons they want to use on things they want to purchase. That was a sweet jesture. Thanks for sharing forward.
Bless his heart! So sweet – I love this post!
That brought a lump to my throat. I have a special needs child too and when he came home with a note from his teacher to look in the yellow folder, I immediately thought something bad happened. But when I opened the folder, there was a sheet of white paper with his name that he wrote. It took months to get him to gold a pencil and all he would do was draw lines or circles, but the ot kept working with him as well as with me at home. I have it framed!
Love this story too 🙂 Congratulations on this achievement for your son
Awesome! My kid is 6 and still can’t hold a pencil yet, so I will be really happy when she does this too!!!
<3
Congrats to you and your son. I can not wait for the day that my special little boy can write his name. We too are working hard in OT to achieve this goal.
🙂 <3

I commented earlier but have been reading other comments and just wanted to say to all of the other parents with special needs that I LOVE YOU! I feel like anyone who has any big health challenges in life, whether you are the person or the caregiver, you are a rockstar and deserve a hug & a handshake every single day. Thank you. 🙂 Much love
I “second” this! Hugs and love to all of you!
What a SWEETIE! I love it when children not only help out willingly, it’s when they let you know they “want” to help. What a blessed mama to have a boy who loves her so much! Thanks for sharing with us!

What a wonderful and kind son! The best Happy Friday story I have heard in a while.
I have a child with disabilities too and when ever my child (with or without disabilities) does something special like your little guy did, you know you must be doing something right as a parent–for a kid to be so kind :)!
I just teared up reading this. Such a sweet little boy and a blessed momma!
All I can saw is…awwwww!!
As I keep coming back reading through these comments on this post, I keep thinking about what a fantastic site Hip2save is and how much I enjoy being a part of this community. It’s like we’re all a group of long distance family members… at least that’s how I feel anyways. Thank you so much, Collin, for making it possible for us to all participate in something so great… Sharing life stories, money saving tips, and more. It truly is a blessing! Hugs to all! 🙂
I agree! This was def my fave post so far, and the comments kept the tears coming. Children are the sweetest blessings on earth. Hugs!
My favorite Happy Friday post ever!
mine too!
Mine too! Great job, Austin!
Melt my <3
Love!
That was incredibly sweet! Keep that note forever!!!
That’s just beautiful! You must be an amazing mother and Austin obviously knows how lucky he is to have you! It takes a special heart to care for a disabled child, and your child has taken all your extra love and saved it to give right back to you! That’s an amazing feat for any parent, and I feel blessed to call a person like you a fellow mother, but it seems like you qualify more as an angel on earth. God bless you and your beautiful boy! You are doing a fabulous job!
Awesome Job Austin! We need you over to help us clip coupons 🙂 good job mama!
