HOT! Getting Toasty! Lukewarm Starting To Melt Ice Ice Baby

My low for today has just been feeling totally burnt out. Trying to balance blogging, driving the kiddos to and from sports, watching the kiddos play sports, making sure I have a moment to appreciate my hubby, making sure I have a moment to clean my house, figuring out what the heck I am going to make for dinner 5 minutes before we are supposed to eat… well, you get the drift and I am sure many of you can relate. The good news is that tomorrow is a new day!

My high for the day, driving my daughter to soccer practice and listening to 80’s soft rock. I don’t know what it is about driving and 80’s music, but somehow it gives me a much-needed moment to just breathe and think about all of the wonderful blessings in my life.

[h2s_box]Every Monday-Thursday, I share my high(s) and low(s) for the day and I encourage you to do the same in the comment section below. My high(s) will simply be the best or most exciting thing that happened to me today and my low(s) will be something not so great that took place. [/h2s_box]

My high: Making a Target shopping trip and also the 80 degree weather!
Low: Our kitchen sink and dishwasher backed up and leaked all over the kitchen floor, yuck. Luckily my hubby was able to fix it without having to call a plumber.

Yes, life can sure keep us on our toes! But music has always been and will always be a great outlet for me, too. Funny you should mention 80’s music, because yesterday I put the Go-Go’s Our Lips are Sealed on my Ipod. I plug it into my car dash and just rock out! Won’t my hubby be surprised the next time we’re on a road trip and that song comes on!! LOL!!

Low-I did know what I was making for dinner and went out to start the grill just to find out we had no grill gas. High-Hubby worked at home yesterday so I got to see much more of him!

I am definitely there with you Collin! I am a student, taking about 19 credit hours, this is my 3rd semester doing it, but thankfully my last! We have an almost 4yr old little boy and I am 7 months pregnant with another little boy! My husband works his butt off for us, so on top of school and my son, the house is my responsibility. Not to mention, we’re planning to move by the end of the summer, so I am packing and prepping the house (we’ll be renting it out) as much as I can before the baby comes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 80’s music, there is just something about it that puts me in a great mood. I love listening to it while I’m getting stuff done around the house, and definitely love it in the car. When my son prefers and 80’s song over something from today, I know I have succeeded in molding his musical likes! haha! Hang in there Collin, you are doing a fantastic job. Remember to take time for yourself and don’t always expect yourself to get it ALL done in a day. I think we (as moms) tend to stress ourselves with having to get everything done in the day we set out to accomplish. We are just like everyone else, imperfect, and can only do what we can do. God bless you in all you do.

Collin, I don’t know if this was mentioned already or not, but have you considered having someone come and clean 2x/month? It’s not as expensive as it sounds. My cleaning lady comes every 2 weeks and she’s a lifesaver! I still have to keep up will the day-to-day cleaning, but she does the floors, the lights, ceiling fans, blinds, baseboards. She does everything that I get stressed out over. The price of a clean house and my sanity is only $70!

i like the idea of a cleaning lady but to me with all the animals in our house every couple of weeks would not do,all cleaning has to be done every morning or our house would look horrid lol it would be a waste of money to do something that i do every morning anyway. and that is including a deep clean. ive been doing it for so long it gets done quick and comes easy for some people

I also have somone how helps out everyother week. It is WONDERFUL and it is the best $75 spent…..She started with me when I was so pregnant that I couldn’t bend over to clean the tub and my husband said “why would I need to clean the outside of the toliet bowl and on the floor”….are you kidding me?! At that point, it was time. My son is 21 months old and we still have her. She is wonderful and I when I mentioned to my husband about possibly getting rid of her and we assume the same things she does for us….he quickly decided that she was well worth the investment! Got to love it because he would be responsible for the toliets, their exterior and the floor (not just mop cleaning there…reinforcement).

Thanks for keeping it real Collin. I know what you mean about music. Anytime I need a pick me up I pop in Little River Band CDs and almost immediately my mood changes. So soothing.

High – my 16 year old daughter telling me she really loves me and sorry that she’s moody with me sometimes. It was a surprise to me that she brought it up out of the blue. Low – having to wake up at 5:30 am to find that one of my 6 month old labs pooped in his cage!

Collin, its great to know I’m not alone! My Pandora station at work is 80’s love songs. I can’t explain it but the smooth jams form the 80’s just get me through my day!

    Collin,
What saves me on meals in a little notepad that’s magnetic that I write the meals for next week on before I go grocery shopping. You might try it if you want…

Yup! I love it when that certain song comes on the radio and it takes you back in time to those happier carefree days. I love 70’s and 80’s soft rock it brings be back to high school and my wild days.
