Homemade Coffee Creamer Recipe

Ingredients:
14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
14 ounces whole milk (or use non-fat milk if you prefer)
For extra flavor, add vanilla bean paste, hazelnut extract, unsweetened Cocoa Powder, almond extract, peppermint extract, and/or any other extract or flavoring you like

Store in your refrigerator (I like to store mine in glass containers like mason jars). Also, keep in mind that this creamer should last for about 2 weeks in the fridge.

Ha ha that beats all the coupon deals on creamer! And you can make a whole bucket!

  2. jkp1014

This is how I make mine!!! I love it!

  3. Diya

Wow, I din know it was that simple, heading to the store to get sum condensed milk 🙂

  4. Rhonda Smith

I am not sure but isn’t sweetened condensed milk kind of expensive? I haven’t bought in a long time.

    • jkp1014

my grocery store had some on sale a while back. With coupons, I got six cans for $3.

    • Ketsy

Its about 2.50 regular price but Ive seen it for like 2 for $4 and Ive had coupons for up to $1 so usually $1 to $1.50 each. We make flans 😀

      • mel

You can make your own sweetened condensed milk.. its just sugar, milk, butter & vanilla. When it boils down, it makes almost 2 cups, and lasted me about 2 wks!
        I use this recipe —

        https://www.kitchenstewardship.com/recipes/healthy-homemade-sweetened-condensed-milk-without-powdered-dry-milk/

(i have no affiliation with this blog, I was doing my own research after coming across a knock-off mcdonalds iced coffee recipe that called for sweetened condensed milk and someone said they make their own, which led me to the above link!)

      • Laura

Do you have a good recipe for flan? Thanks so much!

  5. Joselyn

Love it!! Thanks so much for another video!!

  6. zackandoliviasmom

So Colin…. I could have used this BEFORE my stockpile of creamer that i just got lol

  7. Melissa

Sweetened condensed milk isn’t cheap itself unless you find a deal. I think the point is that it is healthier for you and that you can customize it to make what ever flavor base you like, as strong or subtle as you like.

Thanks for the info Collin! I bought some Marshmallow flavoring a couple months ago and I can’t wait to give this a try since the seasonal variety of International Delight S’mores is no longer in production.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yum!! I bet that Marshmallow flavoring will make some delicious creamer! 🙂

      • Melissa

So I totally had to run out to the store tonight to buy a container and some Sweetened Condensed Milk. I gave it a whirl and the little flavor bottles (like they sell at Michael’s) was just the right amount. I had bought a 3 pack of the marshmallow flavoring on Ebay because I wanted to make marshmallow candy corn and never got around to it. I am thankful now that I didn’t use it all up because this creamer is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Thanks again! This is an awesome recipe!

      • Mar

Thanks so much for all you Collin! I actually came to ask about the folders had my eye on them the whole time 🙂

    • Tonya

Oh my goodness I LOVED te ID Smores creamer! Thanks for the tip!

      • Melissa

It is really good! I didn’t add the cocoa (yet) — just the marshmallow. I have some of the Chocolate Donut Coffee Shop K-cups that I am going to use it in. Maybe I will add cocoa for just regular coffee. You must try it if you liked the ID S’mores. I was so sad when I couldn’t find it anymore. NOT SAD ANY LONGER! 🙂

  8. Lulu

    Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  9. Kathleen

I love those personalized folders on your fridge..where did you get those? So cute!

    • C

i was thinking the same thing. they are adorable. love the video collin 🙂

    • Jessica York

I was coming to ask the same question. I love those

      • Mona

Hi Collin. I loved the folders on the fridge, too. But I can’t seem to find them on that website. I looked under several categories before I gave up and decided to come back and ask you what they are ‘called’. Fridge folders?

  10. Melissa

Anyone know how to make non-dairy creamer? I love my creamer but am lactose intolerant. Thanks!

  11. Cindy

you could reuse your creamer bottles and store your homemade creamer in them

    • Tara in TX

Great idea about the creamer bottles! Thank you!

    • Rachel

Thank you Collin, I can’t wait to try this and thanks for the creamer bottle idea Cindy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome idea – love it!

  12. Tara in TX

Collin ~ you are Precious girl! Just love your bubbly, positive personality. Thank you for ~ well, everything! You taught me how to coupon, your videos inspired me to actually walk into Walgreens/CVS to try out the whole RR/ECB thing and your blog is my everyday go-to for all couponing and deal info ~ as well as fun foodie videos (like this one! ~ totally doing this!) and daily musings. You ROCK!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awe… you are so sweet! Thanks for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. I seriously have the best readers! 🙂

  13. Sari

Any chance you have a vegan recipe or suggestion? Been trying the silk creamer, not horrible, but open to better options.

    • Tenisha

Sari- if you are not allergic, try Silk Unsweetened Original soymilk (green box, in fridge case) and So Delicious Original Coconut Creamer (red box, in fridge case) together. You have to play around with the amounts to try and get the right combo that suits your taste. I don’t like the flavored varieties in my coffee at all for some reason.

I found that using either the creamer or the Silk alone was pretty blah but they work well as a pair. Since I caught a good sale and had coupons (LOL), the creamer came out to .50 for the pint size boxes and $1.89 for half gallons of Silk.

      • Em

I put just a tad but if coconut oil into mine. It’s great. We don’t do soy so I can’t vouch for it, but almond milk or coconut milk is good too. Nice to see another Vegan. My entire family (3, soon to be 4 kids and my husband and I) is beegan. We use bee products from a local, sustainable and very humane farm.

        • Em

Bit of* always autocorrects and I have no idea why!

    • elyse

I am going to have to try your suggestions, I ended up starting to drink my coffee black because I could not find anything I liked and that was vegan. Thank you.

  14. Tonya

I cant wait to try this! Thank you!

  15. Steph

I am so finicky when it comes to coffee creamer. I have tried coffee mate, baileys, store brands but always come back to international delight french vanilla. I just don’t like the tastes of the others. Maybe I will give this a try. Kroger often puts their store brand sweetened condensed milk on sale at my store for $1 so I will keep a look out for it. Thanks for the video.

  16. Karen

I use soymilk, and raw honey for the sweetner. So much better.

  17. Betsy

This has got me so excited! A homemade product I know will be easy to make, store, and will 110% be used! Thank you for all you share with us Colin

  18. Mira

Totally OT, can someone please tell me good Australian deals sites like this and also stores in Western Australia. My sister is visiting n wants to get something for me. TIA

  19. Ashley

Thanks Collin! I’ve been buying fat free creamer when there are good sales, but it tastes so plastic-y and there are so many creepy ingredients…I’d rather just make my own even if it means a few more calories and a couple extra cents!

  20. harlow

Collin I don’t know if you will see this but I thank you so much. I think you are a gem and you have helped me so much with saving money. I thought about making a creamer like this before, but didn’t know exactly how to bring it all together etc. so someone finally did it. Thanks.

  21. Jeanette R

Is this recipe similar to half & half but a little sweeter?

  22. Suszy

Yummm! Can’t wait to try it out!!

  23. Erin

she also includes an update to her post where she says that others have had success making non-dairy condensed milk using either almond milk or coconut milk in her recipe

    • Erin

oops, this was supposed to be in addition to my comment above

  24. Michelle M

Your obsession with all things coffee makes me laugh! Thanks Collin!

  25. Kimberly S.

I wonder if this would still taste good if frozen in an ice cube tray and then bagged. If so I could substitute some for ice when making iced coffee.

  26. Michelle

How much vanilla bean paste do you recommend adding?

  27. I.am.sam.

I wish you would have shown a picture of how the coffee looks with the creamer poured in, I’m finicky with creamers…and especially don’t like milk in my coffee, so I’d be interested in knowing how much u added in and what the consistency

  28. Laura

I made the same creamer last summer and my hubby thought it was just okay. He is obsessed with Coffeemate’s vanilla.

  29. Christine

I honestly think this would cost me more than what I get the “real” (although, not “real” at all, I know) creamer for with sales/coupons. But it sounds neat!

  30. Heather

Thank you so much! This is WAYYY healthier than the coffee creamer with all of the extra chemicals!

  31. Suzanne Alston

Does anyone know what the fat, calorie and sugar is per tablespoon?…or a website i can go to to calculate it?…Just curious. I tried it last nt with fat free condensed milk and 2% high protein milk. I put powered cinnamon in it and liked it. It was not quite as creamy, cause used low fat, put still tasty and certainly like that it is missing all those “non-pronounceable” ingredients…lol. I will try more versions for sure. *Thanks All and Thanks Collin*

  32. mindy

Have u ever put this cream in the freezer?

  33. Jyusko

Can’t get easier than that. Live my coffee too.
    Thank you!☕️
