The ad states buy any item get $5 gift card. The sign in the store and their computer says “3”. They gave me $5 off a pack of toothpaste and $5 off the pack of toothbrushes but said they won’t do it all day.

Signs already up at my Target indicated it was when you buy 3. Not sure the ad is correct.

The signs in the store says you have to buy 3 but the newspaper ad says one so take the ad in with you and go to the customer service desk it worked here in Orlando for me.
the back of the ad said they are not responsible for typo errors (apparently they left off the buy “3” part), so YMMV on getting them to honor the ad on just 1.
I went to 2 stores this morning the first store gave me $5 for each of them but they limited 4 per day. second store I went in they are not give me the giftcard even the add said so and MOD he is mean to me. so I return the items.

that was the “terms & conditions apply” part that my store told me no.
the signs say must buy 3, however target is honoring the misprint and adjusted the registers to prompt for a $5 gift card for each item. you should have no trouble. i was able to get $5 gift card for each item. The p&G coupons also work – no beeps.

dawn- I just looked at my ad and this is it. maybe not all stores get to see the ad in advance?
I highly doubt Target would make this offer when you buy one. I guarantee the ad says somewhere that you need to buy two or three to get the GC.

The back of the Target ad states that they are not responsible for any typographic or photographic errors, so it probably isn’t false advertising.
yes all ads usually have that disclaimer. I don’t know who does their ads, but I find that even though many stores have at least one error every week, target seems to lead the pack with errors in my opinion.
My ad in Orlando shows it just like posted here (worded so that it sounds like you have to only buy 1 of the items). I bet they’ll have a sign posted apologizing for an error in the ad and that we’ll have to buy 3 to get the $5 gift card. I’ll just continue to get my toothpaste deals at CVS or Walgreens!
There is a sign by the toothpaste with a deal that has been already going on where you need to purchase 3 and runs until sometime in May. The ad is probably a misprint but would be awesome if they would honor it.
Karla, every store has a disclosure in their ad about errors. They don’t have to honor it. I work retail.

My target (all 3 of them) don’t have the 3 packs. They only have the 2 packs
They have them in the back of the store near the patio outdoor furniture with all the large packs of items.

i just came from target and seen the giftcard deal for this but its when u buy 3 and it runs through may 18 so its a mistake on the ad
When I went to Target this evening, I saw the gift card deal said “buy 3”.
8:16 am Sunday-
The ad states buy any item get $5 giftcard. The sign in the store and their computer says “3”.
They gave me $5 off a pack of toothpaste and $5 off the pack of toothbrushes but said they won’t do it all day.
My store also took the Crest coupon so I paid 6 cents for the toothpaste. $1.06 for the toothbrushes. My store did not have much toothpaste (maybe 8 total of all various types) and maybe 10 packs of toothbrushes.
I just got back from there also, they gave us $5 off each of the toothpaste and toothbrushes. But they wouldn’t let us use the coupons on top of it, so we paid .99 each. Not bad!! we got 12.

Ad is incorrect. My Target in IL did not have the 3D White in 3 packs, only 2 packs. The 3 packs were for Pro Health and the sign in store said when you buy 3.They did honor the ad for me but probably won’t for very long.

OMG! I just went through my ad and it didn’t even have it in there! I’ve been waiting for days! Anyone else NOT have it in their ad?
Make sure to look towards the middle of the ad. I thought the same thing, but this time they have P&G products advertised in the middle of the ad.

In the ad up top it does say 5.99 each, so when I read the deal I thought how is she getting that for free. when there is approx $12.00 left to pay??? I read that each was $5.99. I will definitely go check out my Target, just in case.
Fyi to all…the three packs of toothpaste as well as the tooth brushes are in the bulk item section near the back of the store. Also, for those in the western PA area, the Monaca Target IS honoring the ad. I was told by a team leader that they are aware it is an error in the ad, but until corporate tells them otherwise, they will honor it. The cashier just added the $5 gc as if I was purchasing it, then gave me a $5 discount. Monaca Target still had tons left at 10 am this morning.

In my household this would probably last us a year. For some reason we go through toothpaste like crazy. Also considering that the toothpaste deals are not as great as they used to be and that this is a nonperishable I too would stock up. Also I think these are located in the bulk section which in my store is heavily stocked. I guess this doesn’t bother me as much as when I hear of shelf clearers that cannot possibly consume all thethe items before the expiration dates.
no….she got a GC for each item purchased, just like the ad states. In my household that would only be a 3 months supply of toothpaste, in someone else home that may be a 4 year supply. Maybe she has a large family or she donates….does it really matter. I’m a little touchy about the quanity statement because I get judged on that all the time.
I saw 21 items but only 8 gcs in the pic. That’s why I was asking.
Maureen, it’s called stockpiling for seasoned q’ers. We build a sufficent stcokpile of regularly used items for our own family, and then share with our local church or other charities. Many benefit from our enterprising frugalities…

moureen I sell it to support my family my husband lost his job I am not sorry don’t ask dumb questions if you want to judge go somewhere else. My stores love me I boost sales my orders stay in my own little stock room and I never clear a shelf and I am not sorry. It is my business and I take care of my cashiers, managers, and our local womens shelter and I pay the mortgage. Fyi yes I pay taxes we incorporated. Thats the truth about what alot of us do I think we should embrace it.
My Target in Flushing, NY did not honor the ad and not only that, refused to accept my Crest and Oral B coupons because the cashier said those coupons are not for 3-packs but for single item packs. The cashier scanned the coupon and it went through but then he looked at the coupon and said the coupon wasn’t for the value pack. I told him since it went through, it’s fine but he wouldn’t budge. Very disappointed!

I just got back from Target I went to buy the crest the cashier said the ad was wrong and she sent me to customer service and they honored it but I don’t think for long because he said they where having signs made. Also I had to really hunt for the item it was in the back next to outdoor patio stuff not at all where you expect it.
Oh I forgot they did take my $1 off coupon I guess I was luckly and got a nice cashier!
I’m not even going to try this. My local target ALWAYS gives me a hard time with coupons and ad matching so I’m pretty sure they won’t honor this even if I have the ad.
Mine took the buy two indicator coupon as well, so it was 10.xx for the toothpaste and toothbrushes and a $10 gift card. It took a while, but they honored the ad at CS.
Just came back from my Highlands Ranch, Co store they honored it only because they haven’t posted a misprint yet. So… I got 2 3pk.boxes of tooth paste for .10, I used two $1 off coupons each. Happy happy happy

My Target told me I was reading it incorrectly. They stated the “toothbrush 3 1” meant I needed to buy a pack of toothbrushes and toothpaste to trigger the gift card. I tried to politely explain the comma that separates the items is not a “and” at which time he called over four other employees to see the “customers skewed interpretation”. Being labeled as having a “skewed inter.” I decided to stand my ground. They reluctantly let me purchase a toothpaste and toothbrush but were very rude still insisting I was reading the ad wrong. They had no signs up indicating a misprint. I was starting to think I needed to go back to primary grammar school until I googled the target ad and found this thread!
My store honored it with a limit of 2 (yes so happy they had a limit), if they said it was a misprint I wasn’t going to argue with them as there are free toothpaste offers all the time.
Germantown, MD Target honored it, but are planning on posting signs. I don’t use Crest, but items that I get for free, cheap or make money from I donate to military families.
My Target in Lancaster, New York changed the sign to reflect the flyer. They were out of the Crest 3D but Colgate 3 packs were also marked to issue a gift card with one purchase. 🙂
Went to my target in Rochester, MN this morning and they said they are honoring the ad. The saleswoman said they are fixing the computer to honor it and had me tell the checker to override it and give me the $5 GC.
My Target today in Littleton CO honored the ad yay! At first they tried to tell me that it was when you buy three but my wording in my ad was ‘when you buy any oral care item listed’ you get a free $5 card. Also yes they were back by the BBQ seasonal area for some reason.

Yes this is an ad misprint and I would have had to buy 3 so it was not a good deal. They were also on clearance.

I live in Orange County, ca and went to 3 different targets and none would honor them. They said its when you buy 3 only. I went to anaheim hills, Fullerton, and orange grrrrr…. Infact they were all very rude and treated me like I was stealing or something.
That is why I stopped going to Target, before I started couponing 3 years ago, I was a loyal customer and spent a lot of money in there. Now I do not go very often, they always give me problems when I try to use coupons or match prices.
I know exactly what u mean. Whenever I use coupons at target or try to price match I always have a problem. It is very annoying. I hate how they treat me.
the Target in the Tustin Marketplace has a bunch left and I had no trouble at the register. it prompted for a $5 gift card after scanning only 1 item. target decided to honor the misprint and adjusted the register to prompt after 1 scan. the P&G coupons work with it as well – no beeps

My store in Michigan honored it. I went early this a.m. and bought 3 of the pkgs. and used 3 coupons and it gave me 1 $5 gc and without me saying anything they rang up 2 more gcs.
Just went to target, I got 4, 3 packs of the crest toothpaste and they gave me a $5 gift card for all three then I reminded them about the advertising and they gave me $5 credit for the other 3. but they said they were only doing this today only,

both the AD and their sign at the store said when you buy 1, so they took $5 off every item, plus the $1 off coupon for crest, paid .09 cents for toothpaste. They tried scanning 3 items and the gift card screen popped up , but manager and cashier said they were going to give us the discount because that is what it was on the ad and the signs.
My local target still has the 3 packs of toothpaste in stock at 6:30pm cst. I must be the one of the few people that knew to ask where they were or no one in my area likes Crest lol.

My store changed the computer so it automatically prompts the $5 gift card. And it’s not just the crest toothpaste that works. It works for Colgate toothpaste and listerine mouth wash too!!
My store had tons but its still alot of money out of pocket to do up front. We get free toothbrush and toothpaste deals all the time listed her on the site. To me its not like this is the deal to get worked up over. I am never brave enough to do lots of different transactions so I just have to remember to use them later.

I just went to Target and the system automatically prompted for the $5 gift card for each 3 pack(I got 3D, Prohealth Mint and Prohealth Whitening) that I purchased. It was not where the toothpaste is regularly located but in the bulk section by the seasonal items. There was no sign up advertising the $5 gift card per item but when I scanned it on the price scanner, it said a $5 gift card would be given. Good luck!
