HOT! Getting Toasty! Lukewarm Starting To Melt Ice Ice Baby

So… I have been keeping a secret! For the past month or so, my family has been preparing to sell our home so that we can move a few streets over to a home that has more space. As you can imagine, it has been quite chaotic in my household as many hours have been spent de-cluttering, sorting, donating, cleaning, and doing whatever necessary to get our house in tip-top condition to go on the market.

So my high today… we sold our home in only 5 days! We are so happy and relieved to be done with the oh-so-stressful selling process. I was becoming a maniac freaking out about shoes being worn in the house, crumbs being dropped on the floor, backpacks strewn about etc. So I am very excited to get back to the more relaxed version of myself.

My low today – can you guess?! Yep, now we have to start preparing to actually move. Yuck! So the next few weeks will be filled with packing boxes, hauling them over to the new house, and unpacking boxes all with 3 kiddos in tow. Wish me luck!

[h2s_box]Every Wednesday, I share my high(s) and low(s) for the past week and I encourage you to do the same in the comment section below. My high(s) will simply be the best or most exciting thing that happened to me over the last week or so and my low(s) will be something not so great that took place. [/h2s_box]

Congrats and good luck, Collin! Good thing it’s only a few streets down though, imagine having to move to another side of the city or something!

  5. Miranda

Your house is so beautiful inside and out! You should have never stressed about it selling!

  6. Chelsey

We are getting ready to rent our and I feel your pain. Tonight is the first night I didn’t HAVE To clean. We showed our house to potential renters earlier and it looks like they are going to apply. I did make the kids eat dinner out on the porch though so I wouldn’t have any last minute mess before they came. We live in UT and it was a bit chilly, but it had to be done 🙂

  7. Dawn

Congrats!!! Moved a friend this weekend, so don’t envy you packing but I hope it goes smoothly.

You’re a military spouse so you should be an expert at moving by now! Congratulations! Can’t wait to see photos of your new home!

WOW, 5 days. That’s great. Good luck with the packing and moving. As you fill each box, think of a memory of something you are putting in that box.

  12. Janet

Having moved everywhere from across town and across the world, I know the stress is a killer either way. (Fellow military spouse and navy brat, here.) Good luck to you and your family.

GOOD LUCK COLIN! SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

  17. Kimserena

Congrats! Just went through the same exact thing! We only moved 2 blocks (yes, exactly 2 blocks – oy!) from our previous home, for one that had a little more space. My Tip for you: Try using boxes that are the same size, and go for smaller boxes rather than bigger ones. When they’re the same size, it’s great for stacking up against the wall to keep out of the way while packing. And when they’re smaller, they don’t get too heavy to lift and carry. (Either for you or movers…) GOOD LUCK and a wishful easy move for you & the fam!!! 🙂

    • Geena J

My high of the week was that I’m in the last week if classes before finals. My low of the week I still have so much todo and study for next week!! -_-

You’re in Boise, right? I could’ve told you it’d only be on the market a few days. We’re trying to buy a home in Boise right now….EVERYTHING we like is sold within days of hitting the market. The market is CRAZY here. Which I guess you know because you’ve bought a home…congrats!

    • Ann Dee

Interesting to know. Wonder why the market is so crazy there. I am in Vernal, UT and the market is crazy because there are a lot of oil field jobs and other jobs opening up here. We bought our home after only 2 days on the market and it’s not nearly as cute as Collin’s home. 🙂 But we hope it will be when we get through with it.

  24. mrsbamagal

Oh Collin I am so glad that it sold so fast! How did you do that?! It looks adorable anyway and like it has great curb appeal and charm….must have been a starter family perhaps? 😉 I’m so happy for you all. We are getting our 2,000 squ. foot plus home ready for the market as well. 7 years has been enough for me. There are things about it I really like, like the neighbors & the pool, large living space, etc etc. etc. but the floor plan has never really worked that well for us and the front yard is on a roll or tilt to the right so Every ball you guessed, rolls right down the street, hill, not to mention rain collects at the right side and does Not roll off due to the layout. Anyway, you live and learn! Wishing for the best for the Morgan family! XO

  25. Jeanette R

Congratulations!! We are putting our house on the market too.

  26. Amber Daisie

For me it’s been a good week or it was. I have lost enough weight that I can wear clothes that I couldn’t fit into for the past 2-3 years. My low though wiped all that out, my Father In Law passed away suddenly. What makes it worst is me being the type of person who just can’t let out my feelings. I can feel the sorrow I have, but it’s just bottled up in me. Even more I don’t know how to comfort my spouse because I’ve never had a loss in my family before, I feel pretty much useless at this point.

  27. Derek

Congrats, girl! I actually JUST moved last weekend and bought my very first house, so I totally feel your pain with the moving process. And five days…your house must have been in tip top shape! Good work!

  28. domestic bliss squared

Congrats Collin! My family and I just moved to Boise as well so maybe we’ll run into you! You should post some local deals!

  29. Elizarae

Good luck to you! We are looking to buy a home and houses here in CA aren’t lasting more than a day on the market! It’s crazy, but we’re hopeful that the perfect home will come.

  30. Toni

CONGRATS! Can you also post some packing/moving tips to help save time and money/ I too am moving in 2 months.

  31. Tiffany

When we moved to our new home (just streets away) we hardly packed anything in boxes. We moved ourselves–no professionals involved. We moved the furniture first. We took dresser drawers out (so dressers were easier/lighter to carry) with the clothes still in them and just put the drawers back once the dresser made it to the new home. We placed old sheets on the floor of the moving truck and took the clothes that were hanging in our closets and laid them on the sheets. Drove to the new house and immediately hung them up. For the kitchen, we did use boxes, but we would load up the boxes and then go to the new house and immediately unload into the proper cabinet or drawer. Took those sameboxes back to the old house and reloaded. We did this with each room of the house. We were moving from a house not from an apartment–meaning we had lots of stuff to move. It was so nice to have everything in its place immediately in the new house. Good luck!

  32. alejandra

you are half way there, keep going!!

  33. linda

That’s great! Selling a home is stressful in so many ways. Glad it went quickly. I’m sure the new family, especially if there are children, will be uber excited about that awesome secret room about your kids bed.

  34. Katie G.

I would also like tips on how to sell a home “by owner”-that’s the frugal way to do it-right?? 🙂

  35. Mommyof1

My high this week – My hubby’s birthday! We are also planning a short vacation for sometime in the near future.. it’s hard on a budget, but hopefully we can save a little extra in the upcoming weeks! Looking at all the places we would like to go is fun though!

Low – rough week in homeschooling, weather here has been a little dreary and colder than normal. Can’t wait until we get to go to the beach or to the park and have some outdoor time! We have cabin fever!

  36. Ashley R

that’s so crazy & awesome you sold it in such little time!
