I am just getting into this technology era (yes, I am the last dinosaur :p ) and wondering if there is anyway to transfer these free books to the NOOK e-reader or I only can use it with Barns and Noble Books? Hope somebody can help me.

    • Amanda

I was wondering this too, so I did a little research… Apparently it IS possible to read Kindle books on a Nook, BUT you have to reprogram the Nook. It all looked WAY too complicated for me to bother with it, so I will be waiting for a Kindle sale. 🙂 Hope this helps.

Do you guys have a smart phone? I read them on mine.

        • Liz

          nop :/

I have a rooted nook so I am able to have the kindle app since it basically functions as an android tablet now. I’m pretty sure this is the only way around it. I got my nook this way, so I’m not sure how to go about changing it.

The readers have their on special format so they can’t be read on different readers. There are some programs that will convert them (https://calibre-ebook.com/about) but I’ve never tried to put Barnes and Noble books on my Kindle and I’m not sure this program will do it either. If they are in PDF or EPub all readers will read those. But you could always just get the Kindle app on your smartphone or add it to your computer or tablet.
