All I did was fill out the form, and the confirmation page said this- but I never placed an order, and the sweepstakes said NO PURCHASE NECESSARY (great- now I have to contact customer service):
“THANK YOU FOR ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDER! Your print subscription to Seventeen has been accepted and you will receive a bill in the amount of $10 for 10 issues. You will receive the benefits of continuous service outlined below and your first issue will be delivered to 152 PLYMPTON ST, WALTHAM, MA 02451-2975 in 4-6 weeks.”
I got the same thing and there wasn’t anything about a trial subscription like it says in collin’s post.
I think Colin’s link is the subscription link (along with all the others in the comments) because it has the same extension at the end /27030 and that’s the one that made me purchase the magazine. I don’t know where to get the non-purchase option.
Right above the box to enter your first name it read: “No purchase is necessary to enter. If you’d prefer enter the sweepstakes without starting a trial subscription to Seventeen or if you are already a subscriber, click here.” You just had to click on the “click here” words. You can try the link again & you’ll see this paragraph.
what do I do if I accidentally subscribed? they don’t have any payment information, am I safe?
You can cancel when they send you an email and they’ll never send you a bill
My confirmation email did not have a cancellation option in it. I emailed customer service.

when you receive the bill, just write “CANCEL” on it and send it back

And enter your address or information. It didn’t recognize mine for like 3 or 4 times. I Kept hitting enter until there appeared a customer service email form which I entered my cancelation request. I HATE BEING SLEEPY and also I think they are scammers because when people see free they just quickly try to get stuff.

I don’t know what happened….found the form- but there was no opt out for the magazine- didn’t tell me I got the mascara- just said thanks for ordering Seventeen magazine!! WAY more trouble than I was hoping for…now to try to cancel a subscription!!!

Hope this helps. I had the same problem and happen to come across their customer service number. Now, I’m just waiting for the customer service center to open at 7am central time.
The lady at customer service that I just spoke with said it takes at least 72 hours for the order to show up in their system. Either way she said they would be able to cancel the order with no problem. Hope this information is helpful for anyone who needs it.
