Wow – this is a great deal if you have been considering Roku!

  3. Suzy

Love, love, love my Roku. If you are on the fence, get off it and buy it. Best $50 investment ever. Even better for $39.

You can always price match it at Best Buy if you want it today.

can someone explain how this works, would it replace your cable? are there any monthly charges?

    • Tammy

I was thinking the same thing. I would also like to know more info. Thanks in advance.

You can use it to stream services like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video & Hulu Plus, all of which have their own (very low) monthly fee. There are also free channels included with the Roku, and you can download tons more for a small, one-time or monthly fee, depending on the channel. We love ours – we have “tv” for less than $15 a month, with three different services streaming on any given day. All you need is an internet connection! 🙂

I have the apple tv which will “mirror” my ipad however it will not work with Amazon prime- it works with all the other streaming websites that you pay for .
I would buy this just for streaming the Amazon Prime (which I pay for yearly).

If you just used a service like this one, can you watch live sports events? Espn live shows?

        • Matt

          From Roku Site

“Any time you want it. Roku streams the action with the biggest selection of live streaming sports packages out there, including MLB.TV,
NBA League Pass Broadband, NHL GameCenter, MLS LIVE, UFC and more. International sports offerings on Dishworld include
Indian Premier League cricket and Brazilian pro soccer. Depending on the league and your subscription, you enjoy live and on-demand
out-of-market games on your TV in HD”

Do you need 1 device for each TV or will 1 device cover all the TVs in the house?

    • Matt

      Each TV would need 1

  7. Jennifer

aww man! I JUST ordered this Thursday! Wonder if I can call and get them to lower my order that has already been shipped out…

  8. Jenny

I love this! You do need one for each TV so this low price is PERFECT for that! I pay a low monthly fee for Netflix, I think $14? and that is it! I also am an Amazon Prime member so I get TONS of free shows from that to! So for $14 I get TV! We ditched cable 2 years ago and never looked back. We saved over $90 a month, that’s over 2K in the 2 years we used Roku!

Netflix has Disney junior shows now as well for the little ones. Handy Manny, Oso, Timmy Time, and Mickey Mouse Road Rally. We found other great kid shows he loves to!

If I have a WIFI blu ray player, I don’t need ROKU to stream Netflix correct? We do not have cable…

    • Kristen

My Blu Ray player can stream Netflix 🙂 We just don’t have anything besides a Roku that can stream Amazon Prime.

  10. Rona

I stream Amazon Prime off my Wii in case someone has one and has never tried, also Hulu and netflix of course.

  11. Paola

Just as a note, 720p isn’t that great. I’d highly recommend 1080p for a clearer, better picture. Our Apple TV offers the best picture quality out of al our media players (Sony media player and Roku). Just an FYI 🙂

  12. xfilemom

Thanks! Father’s Day gift – done!

  13. AC

FYI this is back up to 49.97
