[h2s_box]I went to the Dollar Tree today and they had Campbell’s Slow Kettle Soup there! Campbell’s recently released a $1/1 coupon on Coupons.com and I was really excited and surprised to find it there! This soup is usually around $3.49 and so I have never tried it based on its price. The Dollar Tree did only have one flavor which was Kickin Crab and Sweet Corn Chowder but I like crab so I bought 2 to try. I wasn’t disappointed! Maybe you can let all those Hip2Savers know to keep a look out at their store too! I am from Pennsylvania. I know the store inventory varies! [/h2s_box]

If you can find this soup at your local Dollar Tree as well, then here’s the deal scenario for you:

I live in Richmond, VA and taking coupons into any of our Dollar Trees is a very painful experience. The cashiers don’t know their policies, they have to manually input the coupon and in many instances they won’t take the coupon even though I’m following the coupon policy to the letter. It’s just not worth the aggravation anymore 🙁

I have the same problem in Albuquerque. They have to have a manager OK every coupon before manually putting them in. I’ve never used more than 2 or 3 coupons at a time there and they normally don’t have any of the items I was looking for.

Hey Kira my name is Grace I live here in Rio Rancho. You are the first person I have came across that lives in NM …. I always like to trade coupons that I wont use, maybe we can get something going…

I always have issues with the cashier taking my coupons at dollar tree so i don’t even bother anymore.

I went into a Dollar Tree today and was very shocked. The cashier had to call the manager to look at them. I was using the nestle milk (powder or liquid) and the scrubbers, the manager came up and read them out loud word for word, and looked at the product and was like yep you got the right things. I walked out with my head held high even thought I just wanted to bury it in my purse and run out…I don’t know if I will use coupons there again.

      • bunny

Right Heather! That used to happen to me everytime I walked in. A manager who have to be called over and they would read the coupon aloud word for word. And If the “picture” on the coupon didn’t match what I was buying, they wouldn’t let me purchase it even though the coupon description would be totally accurate. Ugh!

All the above…as well as “Available At” at particular store coupons. I got a pass on the “available” wording. Thank goodness they decided to not put it in the same category as “redeemable at”.
I haven’t used a coupon at D Tree in a long time. Such a hassle to hold up the line for their “manager has to approve the coupon” policy. I try to get a better deal via another store’s sale and or by stacking coupons.
Has me wondering if D Tree is losing business due to their policy. They have lost the bulk of mine for sure.

I get the feeling that not many people are aware that they are now taking coupons and the cashiers are not being trained properly. It always takes some time, but I was thrilled to get 8 items for under $4 yesterday.

My boyfriend and I love the tomato basil slow kettle!! We cook up some frozen tortellini and add it to the heated soup, pair with bread and we have dinner for both of us for under 5 bucks!

I live in Austin Texas, anyone seen them at a Dollar Tree here?

  7. Jessi

I live in Indiana and went in for this amazing “free” soup deal. All they had was the corn and crab chowder as well, but for free why not try? I did learn that they will only accept two internet printed coupons 🙁 but that is fine. I got two of the soups, my son picked out a father’s day card for my hubby, some cleaning scrubbers, and some gum and only paid a little over $2! 🙂

I did not see these at the Dollar Tree I went to, but did find the Colgate MaxFresh Toothpaste, Playtex 4ct, Secret Deodorant- got all for free, only paid tax.
