I went to Chili’s last night with my son and ordered the Chipotle Chicken. It was definitely a large portion, and it was delicious! My son had a salad, so I just brought the leftovers home for later!
is this only for dine-in? or can be to-go?
Dine in
Chipotle Chicken is delicious and the Margarita one is also good but the Chipotle one is better out of the two -> just my opinion! 🙂
Thank so much! Love this, a little hard to choose exactly which location we would go to this weekend but now I will plan around going to Chili!!
Would anyone else feel weird going into a restaurant and only ordering water and the free item? Even if you leave a big tip?
just add some salad and dessert, I guess this won’t make anyone feel weird.
I just got a beverage (which they also gave me to-go along with half of the flatbread that I couldn’t finish) and I just let the server keep the change. that way I didn’t have a zero dollar balance and still left a tip. I don’t think it really matters either way.
My husband and I went and they let us use 2 of the coupons as long as we split the check. We both got a flatbread pizza (california chicken for him and chipotle chicken for me, both of which were DELICIOUS) and a glass of water. The total came to $0 and we paid a larger than normal tip and were out of there. Great experience and Chili’s continues to be our favorite restaurant!!!
I would feel a little weird but I tend to over analyze things like that. There’s only a few circumstances I can think of where I’d eat alone at a sit down restaurant though, so I’m sure we’d order extra food for my husband and/or daughter. If I was alone I’d probably order a drink (not necessarily an adult drink, just one that’s not free) and something else small to go with the flat bread – a cup of a soup, a side salad, a dessert, etc. just so it felt like I wasn’t try to cheap out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not condeming anyone that grabs a free meal, I just know what I’m comfortable with.
Either way, I’d probably make believe that I’d paid for the flatbread and at least a $1.50-$2 drink and tip based on that imaginary check total.
You should not feel weird and don’t order extra food just tip off the full price of what you bought. I get free food for my birthday from various restaurants including fast food and I don’t feel bad about it because I spend a ton of money when I go out to eat where I don’t any discount.
Ditto! I get a number of birthday freebies (meals, drinks, movie admissions, etc) every year. I don’t feel bad for not actually buying anything when I get a freebie because I spend plenty at those establishments at other times.
I work at chilis and I have to say that I love seeing people come in the coupons! It brings people in to get a good experience, good food, and hopefully you come back!
I work at Chili’s as a server and I love getting people bringing in coupons! It gives customers a chance to try something new, and hopefully the great experience will keep you coming back ^^
We used ours last night and split a entree salad as well – it was perfect for two.
can you recommend a good salad?
The Santa Fe Chicken sald is our favorite. It is a little spicey though:)
I like spicy! thanks.
We used ours for a dinner date night. Hubby got the California. He said it was pretty good and loved the avacado. I got a soup/salad so it wasnt too large of a bill. The server, however, tried to tell me that you had to order an entre to get the free flatbread, but he said he went ahead and took it off anyways since my salad wasn’t technically an entre. I just said Thanks and didn’t argue…even though the coupon clearly states no purchase necessary, I didnt want to make him feel dumb! 🙂
My BF is a vegetarian, so we got the Margarita…and we both loved it! I look forward to trying one of the chicken ones next time. 🙂
I’m a vegetarian as well, just wanted to share, when they first introduced the flatbread (before the coupon) I went to Chili’s with my friend who is not a vegetarian, we ordered a whole Chipotle Chicken flatbread and asked for them to only put meat on one side and they did it with no problem! 😀 (it was excellent btw)
Yup, it’s delish! My daughter and I split the California flatbread and also ordered salsa, chips and fire roasted guacamole!
Hubby and I shared a California Grilled Chicken and added an order of nachos to share. It was absolutely delicious!
We tried the California which was great! Our server mistakenly told us that we had to order something else (the coupon does not state that) but we didn’t correct him because we were ordering other things anyway. Oh, AND we sat in the bar for free chips and salsa.
do u get free chips and salsa anytime in the bar or during certain hours??thanks
Used this today, my husband and I split a meal plus the california flat bread, it was awesome!!! And don’t forget it’s KIDS EAT FREE today, at least here near STL, great deal!!
I thought this was for dine in as well as take out. Can anyone clarify?
Says no To-Go orders…Dine-in only
Just got back from Chili’s. I had the Chipotle Chicken flatbread (minus avocados) and it was delish! Our Chili’s has Kids Eat Free every Tuesday so my daughter’s meal was free. And then I had a coupon for a free dessert, which I took to go. So we only paid for my husband’s meal, and he ordered one of the lunch combo’s. Our bill was like $9 !!! And I have lunch for tomorrow! Can’t beat that!! Thanks Chili’s!
I should have said that I took home half of the flatbread and that it’s not the dessert that’s my lunch tomorrow 🙂
I went for lunch with my toddler as a treat to use this coupon. We planned to get the flatbread and another appetizer for lunch. Our waitress said that the managers at my location had a meeting and decided that they would only honor the coupon with the purchase of an entree. I mentioned to her that I had read through the fine print and nowhere did it say any purchase was required… I didn’t argue with her about it–no point. The waitress ended up letting it go. Woohoo! We had the chicken/bacon/avocado one and it was delicious. My toddler loves avocado!
I would have ended up letting it go too, and I work as a server at chilis! We are trained to abide by the coupons and do as they say. It say’s in the fine print that it does not require a purchase of an entree. I think it is pretty uncool that the managers at that specific location came to that decision! Unless corporate sends out a mass email to all locations, as well as change what all the coupons say, they should have no right to make a personal choice like that. Even if they did change it, you printed out the coupon before and they should honor that because you are the customer ^^
🙁 booo it says that all the coupons for the location I choose (only one by me) are gone
I had the grilled chicken last time I was there & it was very good.
