Rainy Weather & Precious Time with Ma

My low this week has been the darn weather here on the East Coast. As you may remember from my post last week, my family and I are currently on vacation in Barnstable, Massachusetts visiting my dad, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. and we had big plans to soak up lots of sunshine on the beach. Unfortunately, the weather has not been the greatest as you can see from the image above taken from my iPhone earlier this week (although I am thinking that I would prefer these temps over the 108 degree weather that has been hitting my hometown of Boise, Idaho – yikes!). Despite the rainy weather, we have made the most of our time thus far and have had lots of quality family time!
So on to my high for the week. I am sure that it is no surprise that the some of the best moments of this week were those spent with my wonderful, loving, and hilarious grandmother (aka “Ma”) – she just celebrated her 91st birthday on June 22nd and is one amazing lady! She is one of those people who has a knack for telling stories (I love when she tells stories about my dad as a child!) and she can seriously make you laugh so hard, you’ll have tears in your eyes. You can check out Ma’s amazing personality on this video here filmed back in 2010 – wow, how time flies!
I have also loved watching my kids enjoy the exact same beach that I used to enjoy as a child. They have spent countless hours digging for clams and mussels, searching for Horseshoe Crabs, building sandcastles, running, swimming, etc. – it has been so awesome and it sure will be hard to return to reality soon!
[h2s_box]Every Wednesday, I share my high(s) and low(s) for the past week and I encourage you to do the same in the comment section below. My high(s) will simply be the best or most exciting thing that happened to me over the last week or so and my low(s) will be something not so great that took place. [/h2s_box]
