Argh! They come out with $1.00/1 and I print that, then they come out with a $1.25/1! I feel like I flushed a George Washington coin down the toilet! Oh well! Thanks Collin!

I’m dying here with no printer (on vacation)
These regularly go on sale 2/$5 at various stores.

This is good hummus – but it is REALLY easy to make your own, and super cheap. A can of garbanzo beans, some garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, some liquid from the beans, and tahini (or peanut butter if you don’t have tahini handy), a pinch of salt.

Oh yeah, blend it up in a food processor. Yum!

can you make it in a blender? i don’t have a food processor.

Cathy ~ if you do end up making it in a blender, pour in your wet ingredients first with the garlic, blend it up, and then add your beans to the blender in increments so it doesn’t get stuck (use your reserve bean water to help out if it does). There are so many good recipes for hummus out there but my fav is on the Smitten Kitchen blogsite.

Great coupon Collin! Thanks so much for the heads up!
Andrea’s right! Easy to make your own but I always thought I couldn’t get it smooth like store-bought til I found out a “secret” to super smooth, silky hummus ~ ya gotta get the peels/shells off those beans! Lay them out and rub between two clean dishtowels, pick out shells and then proceed w whatever recipe floats your boat :)! I know it sounds tedious but if you have time, it’s worth it.
