If you are going to be heading to Target anytime soon, you may want to check out the “Blue Zone” (aka the dollar section). My sidekick, Mary, was able to find Blue Zone merchandise normally priced at $1 on clearance at 70% off making each item only $0.30 (note that this was at her Target in Austin, Texas)! She even spotted a collection of books normally priced at $3 for only $0.90 after the 70% discount!

What fun clearance finds have you seen or found at Target lately?

Dollar spot was also at 70% here in Pittsburgh, PA. Not much that interested me though. Toy clearance is at 30-50% for us now.

    • Rebecca

Tracy – which Target was this at? I live in Monaca, and didn’t see much of anything on clearance in the toy section at my Target 🙁

      • Abby

The East Liberty store in pgh had a bunch of toys on clearance a couple days ago

      • tracy

West Mifflin, last week there was not much but when I went in today there was a lot in the isles and they started moving it to it’s own area. Maybe they just haven’t started marking everything at your store.

  2. Dary Ledesma

i was just at my target during my lunch break and everything was marked 50% off, i picked up 2 princess and cars plates and they rung up 70% off I’m going back after work (ROSEVILLE CA) tons of things left !

    • brandice

      • 4shankogirls@gmail.com

Target in Mentor, Ohio has blue dot at 50% off. 🙂

    • Jennifer

I live in Mentor, OH too fellow couponer!

  4. theresa

It was 70% in aurora, il. I found some other blue “oval” merchandise by the summer stuff in the back (glow sticks, light up duckies) and asked associates if those counted too; the manager said “blue dot/blue oval, whatever…target shouldn’t make so many blue shapes, sure they’re 70% off too.” 🙂

  5. Jordan

the small duct tape in the $1 section rang up .30 and it is a red star. Was surprised and let my kids buy more!

  6. Jennifer

The signs at the Amherst, Ohio Target said only blue dot merchandise in the dollar spot was 70% off but the orange dot and blue star items rang up 70% off as well. I got some very cute Hello Kitty items and Crayola art supplies for stocking stuffers.

    • crzycpnldy

Im going there tomorrow…thanks for the tip 🙂

  7. Kim

70% in Horseheads, NY…. They changed the sign from 50% to 70% while we were standing there. About $85 later we cleaned house. Got a ton of Hello Kitty things for Bday party treats to send home with kids and a ton or other things we will use for Bday gifts and stocking stuffers. Gotta love $0.30 items.

    • Karen

Wow Kim that’s a lot of stuff! I’m in the Binghamton area and thinking of running over tonight to check out my store!

      • robyn

        me too from binghamton!!

  8. noahsmommy

My target has a lot of Lego clearanced. I got a $60 set for only $30!

    • anonymous

Wow! That is a great find!!

  9. Casey

Got a Monster High vanity for the dolls for $9.98. Was only 50% off but I knew it would get snapped up fast. Also you might want to watch kmart. I bought a Monster High twin pack of dolls marked as $20 on clearance (which was a great deal itself) and it rang up $10. With my rewards it was $2.18. I almost jumped up and down at the register. I guess their clearance toys are an extra 50% off. I live in northeast Ohio.

  10. Teri

Oh itching to go! Waiting for my boys to get up from their naps and off we go. I hope there’s a little (or a lot) left for me, their bdays are around the corner 🙂

  11. dora

Boys pants were 6 something & tee 2 something.. I got a few pairs so I can get a head start on school shoppin

  12. Melinda

I just got back from target and also got $1 stuff for 70% off. Today was my very first day couponing and I saved almost $60 at target between manufacturer’s coupons, target printable coupons, target mobile coupons, cartwheel and my red card. Even my skeptical husband was impressed after he scoured the receipt (and so was the target cashier)! I know I can do even better once I really get organized. Eeek, my new hobby!

    • Kinzi

      It’s addicting 🙂

  13. Katie

They do this at the beginning of every month. I think it starts at 20% off and goes up to 80% off … every month! Great for teachers’ treasure boxes and little gift bags for parties 🙂

  14. WenInTX

Our target was picky and it had to be a blue dot… Not oval or no dot despite it being obvious summer or same theme.

  15. Emily

70% off in Albany, OR…. nothing is marked. I just scanned a couple of items to find out the price.

  16. Tracy

Moreno Valley, CA all blue dot 70% off as well, lots of summer items.

  17. Andrew

Back of the electronic Dept, their electronics clearance, I found a DVD of Season 1 of Barney Miller. Label said Internet item. Normally 14.99 on clearance for 3.87

  18. Kathy

Nothing off yet in the $1 area in Grand Rapids, MI. I checked the Alpine Ave store today.

  19. karen

It is 50% here in Indiana. Was there yesterday.

  20. Karen

I ran over tonight and the signs said 50% in NY but scanned at 70%! Picked up lots of the superhero stuff for my son’s 6th birthday and the orange star (I think it was orange) was 70% too! Got the dry erase markers, mini dry erase erasers and duct tape(only the red tape I had the orange star on it though). Checked out the toy clearance too…so tempted to buy now but will hold out for 70%.

  21. Brenda Valderrama

Chula Vista has the sale it is not marked but they scan 70% off so you can imagine the big selection of item at 70% off 🙂 Thanks for the heads up !! -San Diego, CA

    • Destinee

Ahhhh I just moved to WA from San Diego and I miss my San Diego Targets!!! Always found good stuff there! The stores here stink 🙁

  22. Kinzi

    70% off in Utah!
I scored a ton of Hello Kitty items (cups, plates, bowls, socks, necklaces, bracelets, hair bows, coloring books, stickers) for just 0.30 cents each! I also scored a bunch gift bags for 0.30 cents each, paper back books for 0.30 cents, dish towels for 0.30 cents each, and more! I spent just over $45.00 on 0.30 cent items!

  23. Sonia

70% off in Delaware as well. Mostly Hello Kitty and the summer bbq plates etc with the hot dog designs on them. My top picks for the 30 cents items – hello kitty kids socks, pipsqueek marker 4 pack (the little crayola markers), mechanical pencils 4 pack, kids tupperwear (all my store had left was avengers but girly bowls and plates), 2 packs of puzzles, and crayola pop-up books. Too bad my daughter doesn’t want a hello kitty birthday party because there was tons of hello kitty.

  24. Teri

70% in Hawaii! For .30 I got duct tape, wrapping paper, gift bags, dish sponges, bath sponges, fabric bins, avengers/batman/superman, hello kitty. My 3 yr old picked out a toy hockey set for .90. Passed on condiment bottles, cards, chess/checkers games, novels, fabric shoe holders, soft coolers. My summer $1 section was not on sale (glow sticks, glow insects). Did not scan the re-usable sandwich bags but has anyone tried them? Super stoked on the dish sponges! Thanks Collin and everyone for sharing your finds (did not check the regular store clearance since i spent so much time in the dollar spot). Happy frugal shopping!

    • MommySpendsLess

The super hero stuff is on sale too?!?!? I missed it! At my Target in Florida the signs just said blue dot was 70% off and I didn’t think to scan anything else. I scored some great stuff for camping (marshmallow tongs, multiple hot dog cooker thing, horse shoe game) and nail clippers and at the time I was pretty happy with that. Now I want to go rushing back!! It’d be nice if those beach totes were on sale

      • Teri

Not the stuff in the Summer section, just the $ spot. All we had left were the wallets, pens, pencils, bowls, color kits?, pins, key holders, and the dry erase boards.

      • Jodi

I grabbed a ton of stuff. When I got to check out and some photo bracelets rang up at $1.00 instead of $0.30, I just told the cashier I didn’t want them and he took them back. They were going to be party favors for next March and I’ll wait!

    • Karen

The reusable sandwich bags from the dollar section were terrible (I bought them last year). They smelled so strong of chemically plastic that I can’t imagine anyone putting food for a kid in it.

      • Lindsey

Boo! I was pretty excited to score these!

        • Jessica

I also tried these last year and they did smell very chemical like, HOWEVER, I did open up each bag and kind of ‘poofed’ it open and just let them air out on the table for a couple hours, than put them all back and still the ones I have left still haven’t came back with the chemical smell. Even ziplock bags have a smell at first (the target ones smell was way worse, I’m just pointing that out). But on another side note I also do not have kids so I just use them for snacks and such for my boyfriend and I. But just thought I’d add that in! 🙂

  25. Theresa

No signs up in bayshore, ny….. But when I scanned items they rang up 30cents. Got some crayola books 🙂

  26. HommiesHouse

Darn—I was in the Lafayette, Indiana store last night and was interested in many items with Blue Stars but was too nervous to test if they were also 70% off. Anyone know this for sure?

    • J

Don’t be nervous! There are scanners located around the store, you can use those to check prices before you get to the registers. (In case you didn’t know, not trying to be snarky!)

    • Tamika

I to live in Lafayette IN and all of it was 70% off blue dot gold star the entire section was 70% off found some cute things for my daycare

  27. Aimee

Anybody from Baton Rouge, Louisiana check our Targets?

  28. Monique

    Anyone from Chicago?

    • Jamie

      me! 😉

  29. Leah

At the Buford, GA Target (North of Atlanta) they had a good selection. It was marked blue dot 70% off, but the blue oval (superhero stuff, Monsters U, etc) and the red star were all 70% off as well. 🙂

  30. Casey

I got hockey stick and puck sets for 90 cents, and a kid’s horseshoe game for 90 cents! St. Louis.

  31. Jennifer

Picked up,a few condiment bottles. We use them for easy to use shampoo/body wash containers for the shower. They are easy to dispense and help prevent overusing the product. Red is shampoo and yellow is body wash. Picked up extras for dish soap bottles for camping and baby oil for the removal of tar at the beach. Make sure you label your bottles! Learn from my mistake.

    • Anna @ Frugal For You

That is an awesome idea! Would make it easier for the kiddos to use.

  32. Emi

I got a TON of stuff at my store. The girl told me the whole side of the dollar spot was 70% off no matter what color or shape was on the package, not just blue dots, it included so much stuff- I was amazed, she said ‘you better get it all today because tomorrow it will be gone, we will ship it out.’ I got over $50 worth of stuff for parties, bbq’s, gifts etc. I was happy !! May hit it again on my way home.

  33. ihearthip

Today the Super Target in my area (Memphis, TN) had tons of dollar spot merchandise for 70% off. I bought several of their “bbq” themed items to use as party favors for the Morningstar Farms House Party I recently won!

  34. Marie

I was at Lennox & Sawmill Rd Targets in Columbus today…both still had things….Sawmill a little more but it was getting busier…both had TONS of the BBQ stuff, bits and pieces of superheroes, Sawmill had some Hello Kitty stuff, and both had a good deal of the brightly colored kitchen stuff. Orange Star was ringing up 70% except for the $3 ipod orange star headphones. Those were still at $3. Really looking for the orange star greeting cards if any Columbus couponers have seen any??

  35. Jamie

I did such a great target run just now In IL…I got 2 Monsters University racecar sets for Christmas ($4.98 each) and a TON of the “let’s CeleBRAT” plates and napkins for my sons 8th grade graduation next year marked 70% off and a bunch of marshmellow skewers for my house and part of a house warming gift! Thanks H2S!

  36. Amber

The Southport Road Target in Indianapolis was pretty picked over- no Hello Kitty anything left. Their blue star items were also unmarked, but scanned 70% off. I found dish sponges, kid’s plates and bowls, hair accessories, notepads, mechanical pencils and some books for 70% off. They have a lot of BBQ things left, too.

  37. Jodi

Stocked up my “charity” gift closet: 20 kids books for the local food shelf for $6.00. Our church puts together kitchen packs for people moving from homeless shelters into apartments – 24 dish towels, two peeler/bottle openers, 4 silicone “frog” potholders for $9. Hello Kitty stuff for the school carnival, scalp messagers and crossword puzzle books for the nursing home giving tree; pens, pencils and notepads for Operation Shoebox… Plus some party favors for upcoming birthday parties!! Used my red card for an additional 5% off. Woot!!! SuperTarget in Plymouth, MN.

  38. emilytwinmom

I got some fun stuff from the dot area, but I also found some great 50% off toys too! And, the best part for mom and dad, we found a really nice patio umbrella for our table set for $30. SCORE!

  39. Cat

So bummed…went to target before work yesterday and scored a bunch of stuff for $.30. Stopped in today to get the despicable me movie and see if anything was left. There was tons so I grabbed a bunch of the paper plates (same ones I got yesterday) and now ringing up $1??!! Oh well guess I should be happy I scored yesterday.

    • Anna @ Frugal For You

Same here. Went to 3 stores Monday afternoon. All the clearance signs are gone and everything is back to $1 again. I’ve never seen this happen at Target. Weird.

    • Teri

I wanted to go for ‘seconds’ yesterday but couldn’t make it. I called my store today to see if the clearance was still on and the operator said the spot was reset last night. Boo hoo. Can’t wait till the next one!
