The mobile coupons are really frustrating for me. I could really use some of these deals, but I can’t afford the kind of cell phone it takes to get them.
I use so many of the deals I get here to stretch my food stamps (Wednesday, I used coupons I found through H2S to buy nearly $100 worth of food for only $65) and these deals on fresh produce would be fantastic as I’m a vegetarian.
It doesn’t seem fair that only people who can afford expensive technology and higher priced service plans have access to so many money-saving deals.
I don’t have a fancy phone either, but I found that I can text for the offer anyway, then go to the website on my computer and print the page. The cashier will scan the printout of the page. Hope that helps!
tyk, but I don’t have unlimited texts and have to pay 20¢ per text. While it would save me on the foodstamps, I’d still have to pay out of pocket for the texts and I can’t afford to raise my money cell phone costs.

Can I ask you Katie what kind of cell phone service do you have ? And how much do you pay a month. We are figuring this out wrong. We need to get you better cell phone coverage so you can get the deals. What I save in my couponing helps me but also there are some services that are for low in come thru the government that will help with a phone and since you say you get food stamps you automatically qualify
My brother has one of those phones and they include texting. Of course there are a limited number of texts and calls included a month. If you have a friend with unlimited texting maybe she can get the texts for you and then you can print it out and take it with you to the store.
Just wanted to share this with you. I have an AT&T Go phone. I pay $32.00 a month for 250 talk minutes, unlimited texting, and a data plan. This is how I afford a smart phone. I purchased it for about $100 with them, and you can even get cash back through Shop At Home going to the AT&T website. You can probably keep your same number (I did) and I have never even gotten low on data. I know the initial cost is a little high, but if you really want a smart phone, this is a great investment for cheap! And you can pay each month on-line to save the stamp. 🙂
Very much appreciate the suggestion. But my financial situation is such that I can’t afford to buy a new cell at all or find myself with a new two-year contract. I need to be able to leave without penalty at any time.
Plus it’s my main phone and 250 minutes isn’t really very much.

I didn’t think AT&T Go Phones had a contract. Walmart also has plans that are unlimited and cheaper than the mainstream plans. Maybe you know someone that can get these texts for you and send you the barcode image via e-mail so you can print and send.
You can still use Cartwheel for Target too. Yes, you need a Facebook profile (or Pinterest, or Twitter I think) to enroll. But, you can do Cartwheel from a computer, choose the savings and opt to print them. I have never been able to get the Cartwheel app to work on my smartphone so I print the page and then carry it to the store. Yes, I understand the frustration. My mom needs access to these deals too and doesnt have a smartphone either. There are so many things that are smartphone only. Thanks to the people who posted you can print the text link, I didnt know that. I hope tht helps.

Also, someone else had posted with Cartwheel you only need to print the barcode once and you can use it each time you go. If you know what deals you load to it, no need to waste more ink each time. And another thing I didn’t know, but found out over the weekend, the Cartwheel only applies to 4 items per transaction but you can use it up to 6 times per day (for those same items). Maybe I’m catching on late, but I at first thought you can only use it once. Hope this helps someone:)
I don’t have internet on my phone either, but I have been printing out the cartwheel since it started and that has worked well for me. It’s not the same as the mobile deals, but every little bit helps. You go to the “my cartwheel” section on your Facebook profile and then click the link in the top right-hand corner that says “redeem in store.” This will print you out a list of all your cartwheel picks and the barcodes to scan. The list prints in 2-3 pages and is good until the offer expires (the dates are included on this printout). Also, you can keep your printed carwheel and use it several times (NOTE- Some of the Target cashiers don’t know this, so if they try to take the printout, just tell them that you are supposed to keep it… this way you don’t waste much ink). Hope this is helpful!
It will apply as any offers as you have loaded and you can use it up to 6 times a day. Double check the fine print on the actual cartwheel app or page. There are a lot of misunderstandings.
I have a phone like that, but it sucks so I use my bf. Do you know someone who has one and won’t mind dwnloading the apps on their phone and coming along with you?

I’m obviously not very tech savvy. I bought my daughter an Ipod Touch at Christmas (from Target) and they have free Wifi in the store. She is able to pull up apps in store. I would assume you could do the same with a laptop. How do you access the internet? An Ipod touch using free Wifi would cost you $0 per month. You might be able to get a cheaper one on CraigsList. Just a thought.

Normally that would be the case. However, as I use coupons to stretch my foodstamps, and the texting would come directly out of my cash on hand (which is *very* tight right now), it would mean I was losing money I could be using for other things – like bills.
But your point is well-taken, otherwise.
I didn’t think you could use coupons when you were on foodstamps. At least that’s what I know is true in my area.
You ABSOLUTELY CAN use coupons with food stamps!!! It should be taught to people on food stamps so they can stretch their money as far as possible. The stores that accept food stamps may not accept coupons. (like Aldi’s for example)
I think you misread my comment.
Vishnu was suggesting that the tradeoff for paying for texts would be the savings from the coupons.
I was stating that because I pay out of pocket for texts on my cell, but pay for food with foodstamps, I’d be losing actual cash on the deal.
Coupons are how I stretch my foodstamps. I bought about $100 worth of food last week but only paid about $60 because of all the coupon savings.

I’m absolutely an advocate of people on foodstamps learning about couponing. I’ve taught several people myself about the practice – particularly those on a tight budget.
One young woman is on disability and only gets about $25 a month on top of her SSI money. She was thrilled to learn some of the tricks I’ve learned over the years to stretch my food dollars. In fact, at the time I made “too much” to qualify for SNAP.
And maybe someone can give you an old phone so u don’t have to pay for a new one and so many phne companys are no contract now
Once her contract is up she can freecycle for a free phone. People upgrade all the time. My daughter left my phone on the car once and drove off and we never found the phone. I asked for one on Freecycle (yahoo group) and a man dropped one off at my work. all I had to do was take it to AT&T and they put a chip in it (that was several years ago) and I was back in business. for free. I get clothes for my grandkids on freecycle all the time cause we are on a budget too! With both my brothers on disability living with me and my two grandkids and sometimes their mother one paycheck doesn’t go far enough. I couldn’t make my money go as far with you guys help on savings and deals.
Its not fair that rich people play the lottery, but they still do! Its not fair that people with iphones get better apps and I cant afford an iphone, not every deal works for everyone…imaginr if we all started complaining about which deals suck for each one of us???

How do you get signed up for the Target Baby Mailer?
There is no sign up, it’s randomly mailed out. I’ve been skipped this time and have a 2 year old and am almost ready to have #2. I got one a few months back though.

How many times can you use a mobile coupon? Can you use them for say 2 items like you would normally get 2 coupons through bricks, etc?

Nope. It’s once per offer. Once you’ve used a particular offer, it will gray out on the screen (at least for smartphone users).

You might have a short code block on your phone, call your provider and request for them to unblock the target short code.
I have Straight Talk and short codes are not allowed (one of the ways they save on costs). Sometimes I can get stuff to go through, sometimes not.
I don’t have smartphone to get all these good deal on fresh produce. I wish someone could come up with an idea to use these coupons by computer. Target should give some good deals for customers who only can print coupons from their website. Birds Eye steamfresh coupon is gone too.

While it is true that Starbucks is considered a luxury (and I’ll agree that it’s a bit pricey for coffee) for many people, it’s her money and ultimately, her choice and right to spend it however she wants to. Maybe they create drinks that she can’t replicate as well at home? Maybe it’s the convenience when she’s out-and-about buying and saving on things or sending kids to school/activities? She’s done a lot to save her family money, so I don’t see why she can’t spend some on herself too. She’s also shown that she does make coffee at home (her coffee video a few months back), so she’s not exclusively buying Starbucks all the time either.

If u have an iPhone you can save all your mobile coupons to your passbook. Then at check out click the passbook icon on the home screen and all your target mobile qs will be in one place!
With the mobile coupons, unless you’re using multiple coupons from multiple texts, they’re all in one page when you pull it up. They’re reusable in a sense that unclaimed coupons can be used the next time (before expiry date) but you can’t use the ones you’ve claimed again, if that makes sense. So in other words, the offers you didn’t use this time on the “sheet” of coupons list can be used the next time. However, using multiple coupons from multiple texts or with Cartwheel can be a bit tricky (depending on how fast your phone can load the offers and the internet data speed), so in that case I would just print the offers instead (I personally haven’t done it, but you can access Cartwheel via desktop and print out the barcode that way, and I know some smartphones have the ability to send things to the printer).
There is a 5% Cartwheel offer for the Market Pantry peanut butter as well.
Has anyone had problems with the Cartwheel offers scanning when presenting a printout at checkout rather than presenting it on the phone? The one time I tried it a couple of weeks ago, the register wouldn’t scan it and Customer Service couldn’t get it to work either, so I lost out on the deals I was trying to get.
Take your receipt and a print out of the Cartwheel deals you used to customer service (I suggest figuring out the % off before you go) and they will give you a refund.
I have a coupon from the baby mailer for a FREE $10 gift card with Baby Department purchase of $50 or more. Will that coupon work If I buy 2 packs of Huggies diapers and 2 packs of wipes to get to the advertised $10 gift card too? So essentially getting $10 for buying 2 packs of diapers and then another $10 for the over $50 purchase?

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet. We just got a new dishwasher in our apartment (our old one had to be 30 yrs old and FINALLY kicked the bucket) and it uses the rinse aid stuff that we never had a place for that before. In this week’s PG mailer they had coupons for $1 off a cascade item. There is a small rinse aid bottle near the 2 and 4 ct cascades – so those were free! We had two papers, so two coupons. It took 2 bottles to fill up our little thing and it says that should last 40 loads or so. Just in time for the next mailer to arrive!
We also bought another one and it took the 75 cents off any dish detergent mobile coupon from “fresh” off, so we got a 3rd for a quarter. Pretty good deal to us.
Are those small bottles trial size? The coupon excludes trial size.
This may be a dumb question, but how do you use the mobile coupons at Target when you are using multiple coupons listed in the offer? (like the ones that you get when you text FRESH) Do they need to scan your phone multiple times, or does it take the savings off everything with one scan?

Mobile coupons only work for one item, so you will only be able to buy one.
I just bought the covergirl outlast stay brilliant glosstinis and the mobile $1 coupon will not apply on it. I imagine it is considered a trial/travel????
I tried to get this deal too and it wouldn’t work, I don’t think they are travel size the ones I got were in the regual makeup section the cashiers said that it fits the discription but the computer says it’s not a qualifying item so theres nothing they can do about it
