Shaw’s Supermarket: Accepting Competitor’s Coupons (July 12th-31st)
Calling all Shaw’s Supermarket shoppers! Starting this Friday, July 12th through July 31st, Shaw’s Supermarket will be accepting competitor store coupons! Check out the details here.
Here are a few of their top competitors:
*Hannaford Bros. Co.
*The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company
*Demoulas Super Markets Inc.
(Thanks, Kaitlin!)
Too bad they left CT about 3 years ago
They also said on their facebook page that they would also take Super target and Super Walmart coupons. You can also “stack” coupons. One manufacturer coupon and one store coupon-either a Shaw’s, Target, Walmart, etc.
Finally a promo that’s from a supermarket that’s in Massachusetts, thanks Colin! I’m always envious of the offers you post for other markets out of state.
Thanks for posting!
I’m quite confused by this promotion by Shaw’s. They haven’t given many guidelines, and reading their Facebook page has only managed to confuse me even more.
From what I can gather from their FB page they WILL accept basket coupons, that is $/$$ When someone suggested a Staples $/$$, they were told that so long as you met the Staples coupon guidelines and Shaw’s guidelines, you could use it, (seems very strange to me).
Also, someone asked about BJs coupons, and they were told that so long as Shaw’s carried the size specified on the coupon then you could use it. My confusion here is that there are a lot of BJs coupons that don’t specify sizes, or say ‘any’, but they do have pictures of specific products which are obviously warehouse size. While we couponers know that the words supersede the picture, I can foresee a lot of problems at the register.
An example of this is that I have a BJs coupon for $2 off any Dawn dish liquid, which I could then combine with a $0.20 P&G, are they really going to let me use those on a 9oz
Dawn?
I know this is like a week late, but I work at Shaw’s as a CSR on the front end, and this may shock you – but even we don’t totally know the specifics of this promo. Basically, from what I gather and my experience with this promo so far, my store would accept those BJs coupons. HOWEVER, there are certain CSRs who are absolute shit heads about coupons and will fight you. At my store, the people who work at night (after 4pm) are the nicest and most willing to work with customers to make sure they’re satisfied. If you have any doubt, go in the evening time.
More confusing is the fact that you can use the basket coupons. I have no idea if you can use multiples or not. I’m assuming you can as long as the total amount of coupons fits your bill. Say you have two coupons and one is for $10 off $40 and one is for $20 off $100, you’d have to spend $140 to use both together.
Last night I had a customer get over $250 worth of groceries for 17 cents! So, it’s totally possible to have an ‘extreme couponing’ experience with this promo. 🙂
Great tips. Internet especially has become a coupon mine where someone can save serious money. I started using online coupons for the family supplements and vitamins last year https://spiqy.com/muscle-and-strength-coupons/
