* Also, here’s a tip left by Hip2Save reader, Lynn, regarding the Disney cars coupon:
For anyone having trouble using the $4/1 Q for the Disney Pixar 2-packs, the Q is ONLY meant to be used for the 2-packs that specifically state “Cars 2″ on the card. The Q beeped when I tried to use it on other 2-pack but did not beep when used on the Cars 2 specified pack.

i had a $3 off $3 or more Q from my daughter’s bday (Geoffrey’s club) & we got 8 packs of crayons plus the 3 shampoo bottles – for free! 🙂

    • Heather

Did the crayons ring up buy one get one free?

      • Caitlin

I just went and my crayons rang up at 4 for $1

  2. shelly

Is there a coupon for buy one get one free?

  3. Cait

Where would it say cars 2?? I looked and they all said disney cars in top left…does it say it somewhere else??

    • Katrina

Cait, if you look at the picture above it shows the 2 below the Cars logo. It’s in silver. I think it’s kind of hard to see. HTH!

      • Caitlin

        Helps a lot. Thanks! I can’t believe I didn’t see that lol

        • Caitlin

I just went…they had a HUGE selection of cars in the middle of the aisle however none of those are cars 2 and the cars 2 selection wasn’t anything spectacular I had 4 coupons and had a hard time finding 4 different ones they had a bunch of the same 2 kind and everything else was wiped- make sure to look down further into the actual cars aisle if your having difficulty finding different ones as the cars 2 packs are very sporadic within that aisle and that aisle was a MESS at my local store. Coupons did beep at first, but cashier realized she was on the wrong screen and they then went through just fine for anyone wondering.

Need some advice. Looking for a quality backpack for my little girl, but don’t want to spend a lot. What is a good price point to stay under, in others opinion? Not really interested in the Office Max deal because we don’t have one around here.

    • Lisa

As a teacher I’ve seen everything from the dollar store to super expensive…and by March they’re both pretty trashed. I’d spend $4 at the family dollar store (50% off) and buy 2..get another one for 1/2 way through the year. You’ll still come out ahead!

I still have my LL Bean backpack from third grade. I’m now 27 with three kids, and we use it for car trips. Totally worth the investment. I bought my 7 & 5 year-old backpacks last year when they went on clearance.

        • Heather

I second this! My kids have LL Bean (kindergarten gifts) and they still rock them!

    • Cherie

My daughter is really hard on book bags and has been her entire school career. She trashes the cheap ones entirely too quickly, usually within a matter of months, but the more expensive ($20-$30) ones have lasted her the whole year. Jansports are supposed to have a lifetime guarantee so I may be looking into one of those this year and just maybe we will have a bag that lasts longer than a year. Just some advice too, everyone I know has raved about LL Bean bags lasting forever. Well not for my daughter, she trashed it before the end of the school year last year and I was pretty upset thinking it would be the last bag I’d have to buy for a couple years. Lisa’s advice sounds really good to me as well, I may do that when I pick up my nephews book bag this year too 🙂

      • Cherie

As a quick side note, I just discovered ll bean does have a 100% anytime guarantee, so I may be able to exchange the bag or get a refund. Yay 🙂

      • Michelle

Jansport does have a lifetime guarantee! They are amazing about fixing and replacing their backpacks. We have sent in at least 5 and 4 were repaired and 1 was replaced. They even sent out cute little post cards saying that our backpacks were doing great at camp and are competing in zipper races. Such a wonderful company. It is definitely worth spending $25-$30 on one (maybe even 2 to have a backup for when one is getting repaired?)!

I was really hard on backpacks as a kid, if I didn’t rip a hole in them somewhere, I would break a strap or something else, it never mattered what kind my mom bought me. Then in high school I bought a used Old Navy bag at a consignment store. That thing lasted me an entire year of high school (huge textbooks and all) and then being used as a bag on vacations and day trips for a long time before I finally bought a new one. I don’t know if Old Navy has bags like that anymore (it was kind of knapsack style backpack) but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one again.

I bought a Land’s End backpack when it was on sale online. It was for my son as he was entering first grade at the time, now he is going into third and he is still using it. Straps are not frayed. No worn tiny holes at the bottom. I am hoping he makes it last for a while. I think I bought it for around $15

    • Rei

I ordered one from llbean…I found one in the further markdown section. I ended up paying $17.xx shipped with free monograming since I have their cc. The reviews were great and llbean has a lifetime warranty.

    • Caitlin

Jansport backpacks are GREAT! I had one throughout all 4 years of high school and all throughout college and it is still in fantastic shape

      • Heather

        Ditto!

    • Tiffany

I had a jansport when I was in school from about 6th grade through high school. I than passed it down to my sister. It has lasted sooo long. When my kids were out of character backpacks, I bought them jansport as well. They are amazing! And if anything goes wrong, you send it back and they will send you a new one. Without even keeping the receipt. Super good company!!!

    • Julie

I have 2 Jansports from high school and they still have YEARS of life left in them. My husband uses one daily for work, has for the past 2 1/2 years, it gets a ton of abuse. It might be a little dirty, nothing the washer won’t fix.

  5. Cherie

Is the price for the crayons all week?

  6. Kasey

When does the sale go off for the cars?

  7. Heather

The crayons are not 13 cents, :(. They are ringing 4 for $1, like the sale states. Still a great deal – I got 60 packs for donation and class.

  8. Sarah

Ugh! went to my Toys R Us to get crayons and they were out. When I asked at the service desk she said they were done with that. I said do you mean you are not getting anymore in and she said no. WHAT!!! Can I print this from somewhere and get a price match? Where is this flyer from?

    • Heather

I price matched at Target the other week and they didn’t even request an ad or anything. They only asked how much it was & changed the price on the spot. Easy peasy.

    • amy

The TRU from today’s paper has the crayon sale on the front page

  9. Tammie H

My local TRU had the 2 pack Cars playset on clearance for 4.99 – still ran the second one up at 50 percent so they paid me $.50 to carry them out of the store.

    • mommamanzer

thank you for sharing this fact! I was able to find the clearance sets as well and ended up getting 2 packs of cars and 4 packs of crayons for .50! what a steal!

    • lauren

Thank you! I got this deal too!
