There is a great way to earn Swagbucks thru this purchase too – check out my post! Basically $10 in Amazon gift cards on top of this deal!

    • Jennifer

Have you gotten credit on Swagbucks yet? I went through the offer on the front page for 1000 swagbucks, but I have had problems getting credited for offers in the past. Just wondering how long it took to get the credit because some are right away and others take weeks.

      • Sarah

I got the credit immediately – redeemed my gift cards then too!

First let me say thank you Collin for posting deals and the hard work you do. I am rarely dissapointed by any of the opportunities that are provided to me by your site and more times than not over joyed. Citrus Lane did fall a bit short. I just wanted to share my experience with others. I signed up for the box that was 12.50 back in June. I know that there are others that are very happy with the boxes from citrus lane but I was a bit dissapointed. The box did include name brand toddler items but the items were not ones that I would normally purchase as name brand. My box included… Two sand box tools,I think they were Alex, Alex sidewalk chalk, a crocidile creek water aluminum bottle, and some suntan lotion. I guess my issue is that most of these items I probably would not buy name brand. I would be more than likely to purchase these from the dollar store or a clearance table and spend my money for a more interesting name brand item. Like an educational toy, game or a book. Something that my child would have been truly excited about. She opened the box and there was nothing in it that she immediately could play with. Sand tools and sidewalk chalk both take planning depending on where you live. I did share my feedback with citrus lane when they asked. Just wanted to share my perspective.

Hi Barbara, I’m sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the Citrus Lane box. I have been receiving their boxes for almost 2 years and I have never been disappointed. Sure, some boxes are better than others but overall I am very happy with the service. The items you speak of were very high quality sand toys. While I do realize sand toys can be purchased at the dollar store, you would never find this particular brand at the dollar store. They are sand toys that are made to last, unlike the cheap ones from the dollar store. The nice thing about Citrus Lane is that it’s a surprise box at a discounted price which includes items you wouldn’t normally go out and purchase. $12.50 was a steal for the items that were included. I agree it’s not for everyone as some people just can’t get beyond the surprise factor and would prefer a customized box. Citrus Lane is very good about responding to feedback so I wouldn’t be surprised if they offer some sort of customized box in the future.

I just wanted to share my thoughts as I am a long time subscriber and I think this is a great deal. Thanks Colin!

Hey just an idea, you could always put the items you don’t care for (unused) and put them in your gift stash for other kids bdays. One mans trash anothers treasure thing. That way you might not feel like you are loosing a ton of money? That is what I would do.

I agree with Barbara on this deal as well. I was so excited to receive my box, and then when it arrived it was just as Barbara stated. Sand toys chalk and other “Dollar store” type items. voiced my disappointment to the company when I called to discontinue my shipments.

    • rachel

Agreed. I was super disappointed with my July box as well and decided to cancel. I also had a broken item sent, but the company sent out a replacement and was easy to work with

  4. Laura

dang wish I would have sighned up under you guys to have saved more but I did not check on comments till now. Shame on me.

    • Jennifer

It won’t let you combine the promo code and $10 credit….it makes you choose one or the other. So don’t feel bad:)!

  5. megan

I just signed up and it said I will recieve my box in august. Will I be getting both the July and august box at the same time? Or will the july box be shipped now?

    • Jennifer

I e-mailed them about that–they said the July box will ship separately but should ship sooner than the August box (it didn’t show a free box on my confirmation, so I double checked).

      • megan

Thanks! I got a little concerned I did it wrong when it didnt show a free box when I completed my order.

  6. Amy C

I have a $10 credit to Beyond the Rack that expires tonight. Anyone want to trade something for it??

  7. heather c

Has any one looked at their account page after signing up, its showing that August is paid for and Sept is “to be billed” even though the promo code worked and my order went through… I just contacted CS to see what’s up with that….

    • heather c

Oh and it’s not showing the July Box at all…

    • Kristi

Mine showed the same…I emailed them also to check it out.

  8. Andrea

So I have a 4 year old boy. I cant find anywhere on their site what kinds of things to expect especially for that age and a boy. Also I am seeing mixed reviews. I am very tempted to do this deal but am wondering if anyone has any feedback?

    Thanks!

    • MommySpendsLess

I got the box pictured for my 4yo girl. Since the bento box, bananas and cool buddies are unisex, I’m guessing those items would be similar for a boy as well. Lots of blogs give detailed reviews of multiple previous months – I read them to give me an idea before I signed up last time. It’s a cute idea and I’m glad I tried it once but I realized I’m too cheap to spend money on mystery boxes. The stuff wasn’t bad but, except for the M&D ballerina craft, I don’t think I would have chosen to buy those things separately at the store (my daughter didn’t like the bananas, we already have plastic food containers and reusable ice packs). I’m not blaming Collin but she posted a picture of my box a day or two before it arrived so I didn’t have the thrill of a surprise either. My daughter wasn’t super excited about most of the stuff either. I’d like to be able to choose categories (toys or snacks or on-the-go supplies, etc.)

I received the July box for my 4 month old daughter. I loved it. My favorite two items were an Aden + Anias Bib and a mini Mobile that can clip on anywhere. I;ve wanted to try the bib for a while, but couldn’t justify the cost, and my husband was looking for a new toy to clip on her car seat. So perfect for us. I am excited to receive her August box. I also decided to order an August box for my 4 year old son. I’m a little nervous about what his will contain considering some of the reviews above, but we will see.
