Some Target employees are very anal about couponers getting stuff free. I tried to get the Reach floss and the cashier said I couldn’t get it because my coupon was more than the product and I even told her she can adjust it and she says her manager won’t let her do that, also said the same thing with the Always panti-liners. I could’ve argue and ask for a manager but I didn’t want to deal with it so just told her to void it. Target should really train their employees better on coupon usage because they even if they adjust the coupon they get reimbursed full face value of the coupon.

Mine beeped at Rite Aid but she put them through. My Q’s always beep at Walmart. We live in the almost extreme North West of Wa. Small everything when it comes to the stores.

Go to Target.com and print out their coupon policy, then bring it with you to the store. It is sad that the consumer is sometimes responsible for educating employees on company policies, but a smart and assertive consumer will deem the process worthwhile. That sheet of paper with Target’s logo explains that cashiers are authorized to reduce the total value of coupons to the value of their corresponding item, so customers receive that item for free. I’ve had cashiers at Target tell me they couldn’t take my coupons because the values of them were greater than those of my purchases. I said, “Target’s website said the coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item.” If the cashier continues with obstinacy, I pull out the sheet from my coupon binder. It’s just so discouraging when planning fails, we couponers have to try at the register to ensure our time clipping and printing hasn’t been wasted.

You might politely explain that you didn’t get it for free. You “paid” with coupons and that her store made more money than if you had paid full price with a credit card. (Face value, plus 8 cents handling fee instead of the regular price, minus the credit card’s service charge.) Cashiers never know this when I explain it and usually have a much different attitude when they realize how good coupons are for the business they work for.

The Reach coupons are beeping at Walgreens just like last time they had the sale but I am lucky to have an awesome store that will just put it in manually, is kinda annoying for everyone though, lol.

    • Lindsay

Beeped for me as well. Manager put it through.

    • dealhousewife

i don’t know why they beep?? mine did too. apparently, the register said “item doesn’t match coupon”. makes no sense, but my cashier insisted the coupon was for 2 (separate) packs. needless to say, i left it.
pretty frustrating too, since i was just running in on my way home to get that & i had to wait forever for the girl in front of me to buy $120 worth of stuff! & had to try 2 diff credit cards. (i can’t believe she didn’t have a single coupon!! yikes! full price for everything – how do u do that?? 😉 )

The $2/1 Reach coupon beeped for me yesterday when I was trying to use it at Walgreens. The employee checking me out was extremely rude to me, even though I was only trying to purchase a few things (and only had 2 coupons). She was disrespectful to the point that I actually called the store later in the evening to talk to management, but the general manager had already left, so another manager said he’d have the GM call me back today. Well, instead, I just got an email (which was very unprofessionally written too…with typos and “text speak”) that basically discounted my experience as trivial and implied that it was my fault. I didn’t even get a sincere apology. I’ve always dreaded shopping at Walgreens with coupons, but this just reinforces my dislike of their customer service and problem handling. 🙁 I hope others have a better time trying to redeem the $2/1 Reach coupon at WAGS!

Whenever I encounter rude behaviors I usually take note of their names and make a mention of them in the survey that prints at the bottom of the receipt since they usually have a box for you to leave addition comments about your ‘experience’ shopping there.

        gooood idea!

I would forward a copy of email to corporate – no excuse for being unprofessional like that

At my Walgreens the Reach toothbrush 2-pks were on sale for $2.99 ea AND were buy 1 get 1 50% off! I figured this would mean I wouldn’t get the $2 RR, but I did!! So with my 2 $2 coupons I made $1.52!

  8. Larkin

I know a lot of you suggest printing out the stores coupon policy and taking it with you when you shop. Not a bad idea but sometimes you just cant change STUPID!
I had an issue with a cashier at Walmart over one of their coupon policies. She said she couldn’t accept my coupon because it was over the amount of the product I was purchasing. I told her it was Walmarts policy to give overage. The policy is posted at each register. It was hanging right it front of her which I pointed out! She said she knew the policy but thats not what they do. She said her manager had instructed her thats the way it was. I just love small town Walmart managers in SouthWest Virginia that can set their own policies! LOL

    • Shantessa Knutson

      AMEN!!!! SVA Walmarts Suck!!!

  9. dawn

can you roll the RRs and use them on the same product? For example, can I use the RR that I recieved from the Reach Toothbrushes and purchase more with that same RR?

    • Nickea

No. If you do you will not receive RR for your next purchase of Reach products.

  10. scrappingirl

if I get 2 of 2pack Reach toothbrush with the coupon, will it print 2 of $2RR?

  11. Stephanie

I have had nothing but problems with Walgreens and these Reach coupons. They have officially lost my business. I emailed corporate and got a phone call from a store manager this morning basically just saying sorry.

    • mel

same here. coupon beeped and the cashier wouldn’t take it. I had her void it off. Instead of dealing with Wags CS (I find they are just the worst at customer issues!), I emailed Reach. This is the 2nd time trying to use this coupon and getting humiliated, like I made the coupon, not printed it off coupons.com!

  12. Pat

I used my coupons at kroger and got free toothbrushes for us adults and used the firefly coupons to get free toothbrushes for my granddaughter at dollar tree.
