Thank you so much for posting about the Target 70% toy sale. I have been stalking the Viera, Fl store since July 1! I went this morning fearing it would be picked over, and it wasn’t…huge score!

Wow!!! We totally got a great deal on toys at Target 70% off. We paid 33% of the full price – $68 as opposed to full price of $203.

I knew the Target 70% off sale was going to happen today.. I’ve been waiting on it for weeks!  I left work during my lunch break and my Target didn’t have their items marked to 70% off – I was bummed!  I saw later in the day that you posted about this sale, so I commented that the items in Greenville, NC weren’t marked down.. another lady must live in the area and she mentioned that they are, in fact, marked down now.  So, I scurried to Target & hit the “mother load”!  These deals were better than Black Friday.  I was shopping for my son (10yrs), daughter (4yrs), nephew (6yrs) & for (3) birthday parties THIS weekend – so perfect timing for this post.  Thank you!

Girl items:
Leapfrog TAG Tangled book – $4.18 (was $13.99, but only 18 cents with the $4 off peelie coupon on it!)

The Nashville Rivergate Target had a few things. They were mixed in with all of the other toys. It looked like most of the good deals were gone because there were a lot of empty spaces on the shelves where the clearance tags were. I did find some play-doh toys, baby dolls, princess puzzles, and Disney Cars toys.

  2. NL

I gotta get there! Not enough hrs in the day for all the deals

  3. Linda

My target still hasn’t gone up from 30%. I’m dying here looking at these deals :/

    • Ruby

My friend’s husband is the team lead in toys at Target in a city near me, and he says that not all stores do the July clearance sale (his does not). It depends on how much inventory they have left when Christmas/fall toys start rolling in. IF their inventory is low when the new toys arrive they just push-in, or move clearance to a single end-cap. If the inventory is high, they have to clearance it out to make way for the new toys. I’m sure you could ask someone who works in toys and they could tell you if their store does/is doing one soon. 🙂

      • Mary

Can you ask your husband for clearance items if it goes lower do they have to manually mark it down by scanning or is it mark down already in the system? And during mark down days they just scan it to put the right sticker on it? Because I have bought things that is ticket a certain price but ring up lower..?

I bought the bouncer and did not wait for them to scan it.. It could be lower if they have to manually change the price by scanning it..?

        • monica

I found out today that it gets manually lowered. I scanned a clearance item on the scanner and it rang up 50% off. There was a lady working in the aisle and said since she hadnt scanned it yet it wasnt in the system. She scanned it and sure enough it made it 70% off. I always thought the systems auto updated!

        • Emily

I bought a doodle pad the day everything was marked down before scanning because an employee told me that the markdown is automatic. It is a good thing that I questioned this (having participated in the clearance before), because I went back later (once the scanners were working) and had someone scan it with their “special scanner,” and it was marked down. This all happened in the same day, so I am fairly certain that items need to be scanned.

        • Ruby

It’s not my husband, but a friends’. I’ll see her tonight though and ask her to ask him. 🙂

          • Amie

I worked at target years ago so it may have changed. It is “automatic” because when they scan it, it’s going through the same pos system that you do when you price check etc. so if its going to be marked down and just hasn’t it will show up on the scanner.

  4. Brittany

I found a car seat base for the carrier that I use, originally $60.00 mark down to $12! Great for when my parents baby sit! I also found landinoh bottles-3 packs originally $20 for $5. I stocked up! These have GREAT ratings for breast feeding mommies! Also munchkin squishee snack holders for $2, originally $9-they hold 32! Awesome deals!

  5. Kim

Pretty much everything at my Target in Wisconsin was gone already yesterday. I did get a playdough set for my daughter, but all the legos and most of the better toys were long gone.

    • Cammie

Kim, not sure what Target you went to. I went to the one in Brookfield and was able to buy/find Lego’s marked down 70%off. Hope that helps.

      • Kim

I’m in the Fox Valley area so that’s quite a drive for some legos, but thanks for the info!

    • Heather

I am also in the Fox Valley got there right away. There was a lot of good stuff but most Legos were not marked down that low. Not sure why that was.

      • ashley

Hit up both the darboy and fox river mall targets this afternoon (wisconsin fox valley) and they were cleared out of all the bigger toys. I was able to score a lot of smaller toy sets priced 6-7 for 1.50-2 which was great to donate for our nicu picnic next week! Wish i could have gotten some bigger items for christmas..
        Oh well

  6. Meredith

I scored a My Little Pony Wedding Castle for $11 down from $36.69 at the Christiana, Delaware Target! I also got lucky with a Cars Mack transporter rolling display cased marked at $7.48 down from $14.99 and it rang up $4.48!

  7. Felicia

  8. Kristen

I got some good buys @ the Kalamazoo, MI stores yesterday: Imaginext plane $3.77 (I think orig. was $10 something), Little Pet Shop Fairy Roller Coaster $8.68 (originally $28.99), 3 sets of Squinkies for $2.96 ea (originally $9.89), Belle Playdoh set $2.20 (orig. 7.34), Playdoh Candy Cyclone $5.98 (orig. $19.99), and Air Hogs remote helicopter $12.58 (orig. $41.99)!!! People were buying stuff like crazy, so I doubt there is much left!

  9. Kristen

Nothing left at the Lexington, KY stores.

  10. Kelly

Just got back from Anaheim hills, ca target and it’s still30/50 off only. Went to orange, ca two days ago and they were 30 off only 🙁

    • 3v3y

There were lots of toys at target in Tustin in end caps and in aisles. Had my baby with my so I couldn’t really look around, but maybe you can give it a shot and swing by.

    • Beth

Rancho Santa Margarita & Foothill Ranch had lots of 70% off toys.

  11. Diana

The shelves where the clearance items were tagged were pretty picked over. I did find a few things. Rapunzel toddler doll $12.48, Abby Cadabby tea set $5.98, Tinkerbell Fairies tea set $4.98, Leapfrog trace and draw tablet thing (I don’t remember exactly what it was called) $6.98, Aqua Doodle jumbo mat $13.98.

    • Heather

Those are great finds! Definitely envious of the Rapunzel toddler doll & Aqua doodle!

    • Jen

The rapunzel toddler doll (and the other Disney princess toddler dolls) go on sale for $10 at Christmas time. Almost positive they go that low at Target and Toys R Us.

      • Diana

It was actually the my first Disney princess doll, different then the toddler dolls. I have been eyeing the big toddler dolls for a year and haven’t seen them below $18. Do those big ones really go down to $10??

  12. Deisy

Monster high clothes 1.78 reg 5.99 got 3
Not on clearance but they had on sale the 5 pack monster high dolls 29.99 reg 50 good thing we didnt buy during christmas

  13. mich

Anyone see any deals in the baltimore, MD area?

    • Jenn

I was at the White Marsh Target yesterday AM- there were no signs saying 70% off but things were. Got Dora toys, play doh, littlest pet shop, random car things and fisher price iPhone app holder/game. Spent about $48 in all. Not sure what I saved

    • Heather

Most of the stores in our area are marked down! Towson, White Marsh, and Reisterstown Road are all at 70% off. Seemed like lots of boys thing, play doh, and dora. Managed to find little mommy bath doll, three different sets of dolls clothes, squinkies sets, squinkies castle, dora talking doll, dora color wonder, little tykes baby basketball sports thing, crocodile creek puzzles, and three different duplo sets (these were the only thing still at 50%).

  14. Samantha

I managed to find quite a few things for my son at two Targets in SC. I bought (2) Crocodile Creek floor puzzles (Barnyard and Vehicles) for $4.98 each (reg. $14.99 each); a PlayDoh Learn About Shapes and Numbers set for $2.79 (reg. $10.99; on clearance for $3.11 and I used the 10% off PlayDoh Cartwheel offer); a Hot Wheels Power Drop Wall Track for $3.58 (reg. $11.99); and (2) Lego Duplo sets (Play with Letters and the Gas Station) for $14.98 each (reg. $29.99 each). The Legos were only 50% off, but I figured they would be gone if I didn’t buy them now!

  15. Michelle

I went to the Target in Murfreesboro, TN at noon today. Many of the big ticket items were gone but I did score a couple of really great deals! I got a Disney Cars Shake and Go Professor car for $5 down from $15, a Disney Cars Lightenubg McQueen VTech learning toy with keypad for $10 down from $20, a Matchbox car police station for $3 down from $10, a stacking tower puzzle for $5 down from $15 and a couple of stocking stuffers for under a dollar! Overall, $75 worth for $22! I’m happy to have few items for my sons birthday! And for anything still looking, there was plenty of girls Barbie and My Little Pony stuff!

  16. Kelly

Was at the target in Billings, MT (Central store) on Tuesday and things were still at 30%. There weren’t many things there so I ‘m not sure how much higher they will go.

    • virginia

im in Gig Harbor and found thebaby alive, minnie mouse items, and lalaloopsy deals. my store was still marking things down!

  26. Tracey

I hit 3 Targets in the DFW area this morning… all withing about 10 miles of each other. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quantity left. of 70% off stuff. I spent about $120 and got too many things to write down. I hope people have lots of parties this year! My scores include a My Little Pony Wedding castle ($10 and some change), a Star Wars Empire Strikes back ship (about $14 for my nephew at Christmas), a Barbie and her bike ($8), lots of My LIttlest PEt Shop Items for $3, Matchbox set $3, etc. etc. I also got beach towels for $3.24. In shopping at different stores, I was surprised by how somethings were 70% at one store but not the others and vice versa! Remember to shop those end caps all over the store. I found toys in odd places. Things I didn’t get were soccer shoes and shin pads at 70% off. Happy shopping. I may stop at one more tonight. Everything is nicely packed in the attic. The extra 5% with red card was also nice.

  27. Tracey

BTW – Online also had a variety of toys at 50% off. Free shipping with red card.

  28. Britt

I got many grea steals in St Louis:

Lots of steals all mixed in with other toys. However my other Target had the same clearance toys I bought full price! The associate told me markdowns depends on what sells so if they sell good they won’t be marked down.

  29. Jennifer Beltran

I am going to check out my other target in Aventura this weekend. I was very happy with the choices. I went for lego sets and got what I wanted!

  30. Jessica

Still only 30-50% in Waterbury, CT. 😞

  31. kenda

I don’t have a target super close. I could use some good ideas of how you decide what to buy and have the money right then and there to do it. Most of the kids I have to buy for are 8 and older, things are getting more expensive and many of them are so spoiled it is easier to give $10 then to deal with there spoiled attitudes. Honestly about half of them I prefer not to buy for because of this but if I don’t my hubby will which led to a $40 gift we got roped into for a child:(

    • Erin

Gift closet toys for older kids are really tough! They are more attuned to fads and know what’s outdated–and honestly, most of the markdowns are on fad toys. Non-gimmicky Legos (just straight-up sets with no cartoon themes) are good, as are some remote control toys. However, before buying anything price check it at Amazon. You’ll see that some “deals” aren’t that great and you’ll also see customer reviews. I found a couple remote control helicopters for $12 tonight, but after seeing reviews, I decided I didn’t want it for my child nor my gift closet. Ditto a 70% Laser Peg set. Other than that, “generic” things like sporting goods, footballs, etc. Cash/gift cards never go out of style, and I think I’m going to save some of my Swagbucks and Viggle points for gift cards for older kids on my list.

    • Burgh

“christmas” is about being kind to your fellow man instead of getting gifts. Maybe you could teach the children to focus more on that, it is free and has far more value than some plastic item they will get tired of!

  32. Cathryn

Those of ou who got deals onLego are so lucky! Very little in the Glendale, CA or Sherman Oaks, CA stores…. Will keep watching….

  33. Lisa

I did great!! However I hit 3 different stores my best find was Lots of Laughs Woody from toy story for $12.88 originally $42.99 I was waiting for this one to drop and found it today so excited!! I also got a bunch of different playdoh sets from $4.98-$1.16, imaginex pizza planet car with woody for $5.98, some Minnie Mouse boutique dolls for like $3, and a ton of superhero stuff iron man, spider man, hulk. I love the toy clearance I am all set for my son’s birthday at the end of the month

  34. Heidi

I got lots of good deals, so thank you Collin! On a side note, someone stole the $4 coupons off all of the tag books (you could see where the coupon used to be)…I still got a few tag books though because they were only $4.18….although $0.18 would have been better. 🙂

    • Erin

I noticed that, too. Literally EVERY peelie was gone from EVERY book!

    • katie

That happened at my store, all peelies gone but 1. When I went to check out the lady informed me it was expired- it actually expired in 2012. She said they try to pull all expired coupons off products but 1 must have been missed. so maybe that is why they were gone? The books they clearanced were older books so the coupons may have been no good anymore.

  35. Erin

Here in Western PA there wasn’t very much on clearance. But I did manage to score a Lego set for my oldest at 50% off. I can’t seem to find Lego discounted to anywhere near this so I was definitely happy. I also snagged the Crayola Color Dome. Retails for $30 and got it for $8.50! Perfect gift for my niece this Christmas!
Around here they had select action figures, wrestling figures and wrestling rings, a decent number of board games, and nearly all Beyblades and Squinkies marked down to at least 50% off. I didn’t really hit up the girl’s aisles since I’m living in testosterone city (4 boys 6 and under). 😊

  36. Nate

Got lego galaxy squad for $17.98 ($59.99 reg price), lego bug obliterator $23.98 ($79.99 reg price), wonder woman little people $1.25 ($4.98 reg price), tag books $.18 ($4.18/ used the $4 peelie), star wars millenium falcon $13.78 ($45.99 reg price).

  37. Amie

  41. Tara

Has anyone seen the minnie vacuum cleaner marked down in your stores??? i scanned 1 and it was regular price but most of the other minnie stuff was clearance so I’m not sure if it was just missed.
I’ve gone to 3 targets in the past 3 days in the Jersey Shore area and was able to find great deals at all 3. I got a few leap frog tag and tag jr books for .18 and .28 cents with the peelies. A Dora mermaid for 6.65- was $22. Fisher price cars 2 garage $7.48 from $24. Playdoh sets, laugh and learn apptivity iPad case for $10 from $34. Vtech switch and go Dino $7.48 from $24, motorized racetrack for $8.98, mini boutique camera for 2.68 and mini figure for 3.58 and got the my little pony castle for 9.41 with the cartwheel offer. Also used that for extra off on Playdoh. So many great deals I can’t stop buying 🙂

    • Tara

That should be Minnie mouse bowtique camera and figure

  42. Jennifer Zeller

City Target in Beverly Hills/BevConn has 3 full endcaps! Barbie Princess two packs, single packs, doll accessories, Barbie blocks, LOTS of littlest pet shop and much much more. I was able to get my daughter and two nieces (plus a little something for my other daughter) birthday presents for $70 total!!

  47. Monica

At my local target, many of the toys 70% off where located in each aisle. The end caps had toys for 30% off. My husband and I got $363 worth of toys for $103. Too many to list, but a few included Baby Alive, Barbie salon set, Bratz dolls, Fisher Price toys, Vtech toys. We try to hit this sale very year, we donate all the toys that we purchase to our local Christmas Toy Drive.

  48. kweetkiki

anyone have updates about the target near seattle wa ?

  49. Stephanie

Our Target had an entire aisle of clearance toys. We spent a good $100 on toys to store away for Christmas.

I also found an Evenflo ModTot Santa Fe High Chair on clearance for 50% off! I was looking around on the internet all week for a high chair for my son and finding this one at Target tonight was too convenient of a deal to pass up! It’s normally $100, I got it for $50! I put it together myself, and my son loves it! So do I! So easy to clean, and lots of great features. There was one more of the exact same high chair left, and I am so tempted to go back and get it for my daughter who is due in 4 weeks! SO tempted!

This is the high chair, still full-price online at target.com and has rave reviews:
