They were on clearance at my CVS yesterday for 49 cents.
boo didnt reset
An easier way to make that recipe is put the batter in a cupcake pan and place the ice cream cones upside down on top of them as they bake. 🙂
i was just about to say the same thing about using cupcake pans. that’s what I did when i made them.
Wait…does that mean as the cake is baking, it “flows” up the cone?
I have a friend who makes these with the Joy Mini Cones, they are perfect little bite size treats.
Such a cute idea!! Have to totally steal it for my daughter’s upcoming birthday!!
Great idea to bake these upside down in a cupcake pan! It sounds much easier than trying to keep all of them standing upright! Any ideas on how to stores these/keep them fresh until they are served? I’m thinking that plastic wrap would stick to the frosting . . .
I kept the leftovers for 1 day and the cones started to get stale quickly. Not sure how to save them. I would like to know for next time, because these were so fun and cute.
whenever I try to make these the cones get very soggy and mushy. Any suggestions as how to keep them crunchy?
Mine was not a reset. 🙁
Thanks so much. Used to make these when the children were in school frequently, and yes, they were always a big hit! Been wanting to make them at different times, but couldn’t remember how long to bake them. Had never heard of the inverted muffin pan idea. Worth a try. Love these helpful hints.
Oh, and someone mentioned there cones getting soggy, mine never stayed around that long, but I’d be sure to just cover them loosely with perhaps a towel, rather than saran wrap or foil, something that breathes; and not put in plastic or glass with a closed lid. Just an idea.
