At Target today, none of my mobile coupons came off (when they scanned the barcode, it said “invalid barcode”. The woman at customer service was very nice, but unfortunately she had to call a manager. The manager told me that I cannot use Cartwheel and mobile coupons at the same time, and that the mobile coupon for the Olay didn’t come off because I would have had overage. Can anyone clarify if either of these are true?

I’ve used cartwheel for corn on the cob the mobile target $1 veggie coupon.

My corn on the cob was only $1 and it worked fine.

I use cart wheel and mobile target coupons all the time and have never had an issue. Most of the time the cashier will price corect for me, but if not customer service will refund me the difference of the coupon. I would check the policy on the website or call corporate.

This is from targets cartwheel website:

      Cartwheel Offer Details
Offer valid in store only. Limit no more than one manufacturer coupon, one Target coupon and one Cartwheel offer can be combined per item. Each Cartwheel offer may be used for up to a maximum of 4 qualifying items per offer per transaction, unless otherwise noted. Limit of 1 Cartwheel barcode per transaction and 6 Cartwheel barcode transactions per day. Void if copied, scanned, altered, transferred, purchased, sold, or prohibited by law. Item(s) may not be available at all stores. Not valid in Canada. Offer value may not exceed value of item purchased. No cash value.

I often use Target coupons and Cartwheel together! I know Cartwheel savings come off after Target coupons have been applied, so I always try to scan my Cartwheel barcode last. I doubt it makes a difference, but I figure there’s less chance for errors if the price is already adjusted from the Target coupon.

    • Katrina

What products did you try to use the Olay mobile coupon for?

  2. 2firm2lose

Yah nail polish remover. I’m just about out since my 8 yr old loves to polish her nails all the time.

  3. Erica

Ok, so would you have the cashier scan cartwheel first then mobile coupons? Or does it matter? I mean, 5% of a dollar is more then 5% of say .50 after a .50 off coupon.

    • Jess Cr

I don’t think it matters because the cartwheel deal comes off after target coupons no matter what order you do them in.

      • Erica

        K thanks 🙂

      • Jessica

I was told by target customer service to use the cartwheel first, then mobile target coupons and finally the paper coupons however I still run into issues when couponing at Target. I always do the Target surveys and mention this when I run into problems. Maybe if enough people point out the problem it can be resolved.

        • Chris

I’ve had the register freeze up on me twice while trying to use Cartwheel, but mind you, I had about 18 things in my Cartwheel cart, and I was buying multiples of each item. We scanned the Cartwheel barcode first, then every time we tried to scan a coupon, it would freeze for about 5 minutes and this went on for almost an hour! We figured out that if you scan paper and mobile coupons first, and scan the Cartwheel barcode LAST, that everything goes through without any hesitation or issues. The order in which you use each discount really doesn’t affect the overall price of an item since Cartwheel takes the percentage off of the full price (or sale or TPC price) of the item first, then applies all the coupons to the price after it adjusts for the Cartwheel discount.

    • CW

I use both all the time. I think I was told the cartwheel comes off AFTER all coupons. Your manager was definitely in error!

    • Chris

some people have issues at their stores if anything is scanned after the Cartwheel and the registers lock up so I always do the cartwheel last.

      • Tammy

my target said cartwheel is last or it causes problems all the time

  4. Terri Prowell

I always scan cartwheel first. Never have had an issue.

  5. Vicki

How do you get the mobile coupons for this? The one that I have (by texting OFFERS to 827438) does not include either of these coupons.

    • Jessica

Just text UPUP to 827438 to score these new Up&Up Target store coupons.

      • Vicki

        Thank you Jessica!

  6. Eve

My target does cartwheel after coupons. Like the screen actually says “are you done with all paper and mobile coupons” and they say yes then scan the cartwheel.

  7. robyn

would anyone be willing to help me figure out if i can print these? i have a phone where i can text but it’s just a pay as you go phone. nothing fancy at all. thanks!

    • Mel

You will have to send one text & receive one text. You can text UPUP to 827438, they will send you a text back with a personalized web address for your coupons. If you type the web address into your computer the screen will come up with the barcode on top, print the page & have the cashier scan your barcode.

    • Mel

Also sometimes the same coupons will appear on the target coupon page a few days later.

      • robyn

thank you mel! i will try it! i appreciate you taking the time to respond!

Went to Target today, first attempt at the mobile coupons. Did not go as planned. I bought 4 ibuprofen, 4 bleach, and 4 cleaners, all Up & up products, it was buy 3 get one. But when he scanned my code on my phone only $1.00 came off. After complaining, finally he got someone, she tried, finally they took another $3.00 off X2, should’ve been $3.00 more off. Not understanding how it is to work, think I’ll stick to printables.

    • Michelle

You can only use the mobile coupons one time on one of each item. If you bought 4 ibuprofen and used this coupon it would only take off the $1/1 one time on 1 of the 4 you purchased. After that the ibuprofen coupon will no longer be valid on your phone. Sometimes it will even highlight in a light grey and say “redeemed” above that item on your coupons page.
