I bought a TON of items for my husband, two boys and myself that was just over $150 after the 40% off code but retails for $411…. i also got back 5% with ebates, and earned 2 $5 reward cards and a $30 e- gift card!! not bad 😉

    • brandice

How did u earn the reward cards and egift cards

      • Donna

Their rewards program states “Earn 10 points for every $1 you spend on eligible purchases at Columbia retails stores, Columbia outlets, and Columbia.com. Every time you reach 1,000 points, we’ll email you a $5 reward certificate.” Also, if you make a $150 purchase (does not include tax or shipping) between 08/01/2013 and 09/15/2013, they will send you an email with a digital gift card that you can redeem online or in one of their stores. You need to redeem your $30 between 09/16/2013 and 10/31/2013. It states they will send your gift card by email starting on Monday, September 16th and that there is a limit of one promotional e-gift card per household, while supplies last. HTH:)

I’m trying to use the code and it says ineligible although I clearly added the same exact kids fleece that you listed earlier? any ideas?

    • glenarden

Same here. Did you ever solve it?

  4. Barb

Perfect! Christmas shopping for my brother is done, and started for my Dad. Some of their products have great reviews. The guys in my family are always outdoors so these should be great gifts!
I’m so glad I have Hip2Save – has saved me so much on my Christmas shopping the past several years. Thanks!

If you use Discover, it’s 10% back.

    • Retta

from your experience, do you get the cashback if you use a code different from those offered through shopdiscover? i am always nervous that i won’t get the cashback. thanks!

      • Wren

Hi Retta, I have never used a Discover code- I just go to retailers, click on Columbia, and click the “Start shopping” (or whatever it says) and it opens the Columbia page just like ebates opens the page for you. Then used the Deal40 code. And don’t forget to actually PAY with your Discover card 🙂 (I’ve done that). I almost always use Discover for everything because the cash back is so much higher. I do read over the fine print for that retailer just to make sure I’m within parameters.

        • Retta

Yes, I use Shopdiscover a lot, but you know how it says that it “cannot be combined with offers found outside of Shopdiscover” or something like that. Since the Deal40 code isn’t shown as a coupon code through Shopdiscover, it (technically) shouldn’t be eligible for the cashback. But you’re saying it goes through anyway? That’s always been my concern. I settle for less cashback that’s guaranteed vs taking a risk on the higher cashback and getting none, haha

          • Wren

I just received my cashback from Discover this morning for the Columbia purchase. So don’t be afraid to do it! 🙂

            • Retta

thanks!! you’ve helped me be a more courageous person 🙂

I really have to advise folks not to purchase from Columbia. I live in Alaska and up here we make fun of people who purchase the gear because, well, it is really poorly made clothing. Buttons fall off new coats, boot seams unravel, etc. Columbia is not a quality brand at all. I recommend other brands, such as Mountain Hardware, OR, Arctyrx, Marmot, etc.

    • magen

I disagree I have owned Columbia for myself and kids and other higher end brands too over the years. I love Columbia and they have an amazing lifetime warranty program that we have taken advantage of! With 4 boys they get handed down and zippers get broken and they have replaced my coats for free! Once I found out about their warranty program I became a dedicated cuatomer!

You make fun of people wearing the..
That only show how mean you are.

    • tilla ham

though it doesn’t get as cold for us in Seattle as it does in Alaska, I find Columbia to be a great quality brand. I have never once had an issue with quality and everything washes beautifully and has never fallen apart, ripped, snagged, or had closure/zipper issues

    • Em

Shame, no wonder there are so many bullies these days, adults can’t behave themselves either.

I will be wearing my Columbia and staying nice & toasty in Minot this year.

      • Mel

Again, “making fun of people” as in individuals within our community means recognizing the quality of Columbia as being lower than that of other brands (again, such as Marmot, Arctyrx, Helly Hansen, etc) and speaking against purchasing such a brand for, in all truth, reasons of safety. In Alaska the weather is much more variable and if people are not prepared with the proper equipment, it can be a severe safety issue. This is why people in Alaska speak against Columbia as a brand.

        • Mel

Again, perhaps individuals have had positive experiences with Columbia, but all the clothing I have seen has been ill-made and has not withstood the high use (mountaineering, extended skiing, over night backpacking trips, etc) that good clothing requires. Columbia is fine for individuals with children, or for individuals who do not plan on using the clothing in extreme situations, but if someone is hoping to use the brand for extensive trips, I suggest other brands.

There is a reason Columbia is not sold at REI.

        • Milly

speak for yourself, not for “people in Alaska”

I am an avid outdoor’s person (lots of hiking, camping, biking, snowshoeing, etc…). I own lots of Columbia and their higher end brand, Mountain Hardware and never had problem with them except for a pair if rain pants. The weatherproofing failed and Columbia was prompt to replace it.

  9. Summer

thank you — got the light puffer jacket for my little girl for $28

  10. jeanette

Thank you!!! I was able to get a few shirts for my father-in-law!! GREAT DEAL!!!! Thanks for all that you do, Colin, to help us!!

  11. Liz

If you received the $30 egift card you can use it on the sale items with the DEAL40 code. I just ordered a half zip pull over for myself for a total of $2.50 after the e gift card. The promo is only good until midnight tonight!
